Ugh another school shooting here. At least the school cop was able to take down the shooter before he hurt anyone.

Monday night a 14 year old kid shot and killed a customer at the Dollar General a mile up the street from me during a armed robbery.

I don’t know what’s wrong with people anymore.

I heard about the school shooting this morning...so awful..what is going on with this world?

Man the grocery store was a mad house this morning. Everyone must have Christmas parties and baking to do this weekend.

Mom has caught the flu from my niece it seems. I’m coughing a little but hopefully won’t get as bad as her.

So I’m going to make some sugar cookies while I can.

Merry Thursday everyone. It was a rough morning we had looking for last minute cookie supplies we had forgot about. I guess it was the typical holiday price gouging with 1/2 sized bags of Hershey kisses being twice the price. M&M's seemed to be made of gold this time of year! Tis the season to be festive and jolly, so thats how it goes.

Sounds like we are in the same boat this year. I made the Hershey Hugs pretzels last night & I have done 11 batches of Peanut Brittle, but I still need to make sponge candy, & oreo balls. Cookie day is this Saturday! I am hoping to get a few festive things up tomorrow - and yes, my tree also shines brightly in the front window! ♥

I did the pretzels with the kisses andthe m and ms this morning with Carolina and we just did another batch. Tomorrow we are doing the pretzels with the rolos and pecans after work

Today was my day off so we baked this morning. After I took Carolina to school my plan was to wrap but I spent too much time in target. It was so funny because I saw 90% of the parents in Carolinas class there. We all left drop off and went to Target

This coming weekend is where the ongoing tree trimming takes a backseat to the completion of the Christmas Cards. They just gotta be in the mail Monday morning.

Yea, I’m in the same situation, I gotta get those cards done by this weekend and put em in the mail.

I'm a bit of a slacker at home. Holiday projects this year took so much time that I didn't get any outdoor decorations up, and some of my indoor decorations are missing, too. But our tree shows through our front window, so that'll have to do! No cookies or treats made yet, and I still have wrapping to do. At least the mailing of cards and packages seems to be done. Even with the longer Christmas season (due to the early Thanksgiving), there just hasn't been time enough this year.

The same is true with me also. The tree is up, not decorated yet, no outside decorations up yet, no inside decorations either. No cookies made, no presents wrapped yet, still got more shopping to do and I haven’t done any Christmas cards yet either.

Wow! After just two more days, we will indeed be facing single digits to the Big Day itself!

Slowly, ever so slowly, we warm up. Each day perhaps 2-3 degrees warmer than the day before. Still snow lying around but grass and shrubs are showing!
Today will see us hopefully break into the mid-50's and that should give the snow pack the final blow.
Right now we have again started out fairly cold, at 34 degrees here in the capital city.

I need to get back into the walking routine too!!!! It's so easy to get out of that habit! But it makes ya feel so much better!

I just found out yesterday at the new job, for Christmas (on the 21st) they close at noon & have a fish fry! I am not a fish or seafood person in any way, shape, or form at all. LOL! I'll guess I'll have some coleslaw & fries if I'm there.

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

When I got home yesterday, I put on my sweatpants and a long-sleeve shirt and went for a walk. After my heart attack a few years ago, I exercised daily, but I slowly got out of the habit. It's like I don't even remember how bad it hurt LOL! Anyway, it was great! I played one of the Merry Little Podcasts, and just walked around town. I hope I can get back into the habit.

Tonight, I'm cooking fish again for Nancy's parents. I guess they liked my blackened tilapia last week.

The same here, I’m in serious need of getting back to a routine of walking. I think I’ve gained 10 lbs since Halloween.

Happy Friday MMC! I am a little tired after the party last night. But it was fun as always. My 7th year there. And now the focus is getting to the weekend and getting a lot of final Christmas stuff ready for the last week before Christmas. Not much time left. I saw them talking about New Years on t.v. I’m just having my coffee and working on a menu plan right now. It’s going to be another busy day, I plan on doing some Christmas shopping. My daughter has her second fitting for her wedding gown later this afternoon so I will be tagging along for that. And my husband and I will be attending his company Christmas party tonight. Daily chores in between and I’d like to stop at the butcher at some point. That’s about it. Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Barely over 1 1/2 weeks up the road, and SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow!
(Better be getting those Christmas plans and that gift shopping rushed to completion!)

Still the gradual warm-up, and nearly all of our recent snow has now disappeared.
Rain is predicted for today and tomorrow, which hopefully will wash away all that nasty salt brine they put on the roads to melt the snow.
Our temps should be in the mid 50's today and 60's tomorrow.
This fine Weekend Eve has launched here in central NC at 44 degrees.
