Hey Pal...Hope your having a Merry day so far:)
Thanks Pal! My day is going fine & I hope yours is too!!! xx
See you in a few!!! :D

In other news, I didn't find any ticks after my trek through the woods yesterday. :D

You know what, I heard this, I can't tell you if it's true or not, that you cannot just check yourself for ticks alone, You have to get your spouse to help!

Although, that it may take a little longer to do so, but I hear that its more enjoyable that way..... Just saying, that's all! +n

@xmastidings - this is from my friend about the zucchini boats...

slap some butter in the boat and roll it in aluminum foil with some salt and pepper & brown sugar...I think you can grill it for about a 1/2 hour or so...I just do it long enough till it’s soft. I put honey on ours too...

I know that's kind of vague, but I don't think you can go wrong! :)

Oh yes, I'm totally going to be trying that out!!!

Thank you Holiday!

It happens to me all the time. I find a few minutes to drop in and post what's happening in my life or just something silly, and I don't always get a chance to thoroughly read back. I've put my digital foot in my digital mouth around here more than once, and I appreciate you guys not holding it against me.
Sometimes, at the end of a work day, I can't tell my zeroes from ones. So you're in no danger, digitally speaking.

Carolina is at school today. She wll right into the classroom without looking back. On the way home I stopped at target and got her some new pjs. Now I am home relaxing until it is time to pick her up. Praying for everyone being impacted by Florence. I don't think we will get anything just some residual effects after the storm is over

Hope you are safe from Florence!

I didn't anyone who was directly affected by that attack, but we were all indirectly affected. Never forget.

You are so right!

Brad, I would of been there, that morning, arriving, under the Trade Tower by a subway train called PATH (I think that was the name).

The company that I was working for back then, did around 90% of their engineering services in New York at the time. We were doing a engineering study for the Times Magazine Photo Lab and another at the Data Center for Nasdaq back then. Every Tuesday, we would head up to New York from Baltimore to review and coordinate the projects. We would get off the subway, go thru this like huge underground like mall and then up these grand stairs to the entry level of the Trade Tower. I remember watching all these people, it was like an army of worker ants, going up on one side and down on the other side of these huge stairs, all in unison with each other. I was kind of amazed the first time I witnessed that.

(I remember, the first time we went there to the Trade tower, that, my boss, he said to me as we walked outside the Trade Tower and said to me, "look up". I did, I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "big building" and I kept on walking to the bus. I didn't think it was a big deal.)

The Friday Prior to our scheduled trip, I asked my boss if we could move our trip back to Thursday, because I had to take one of my kids to the doctors and he said it was not a problem. If we wouldn't of changed the date, we would of have been there that morning, right between 8:45 - 9:00 am. The Amtrack Acela Express train left Penn Station Baltimore, like 5:45 am and it took us to Penn Station in New York. When we got there, we would then get on this subway train called "path", up to the trade tower, arriving just right around when the planes hit the buildings.

Weeks later, after we went back up to New York, the guys at the Time Photo Lab, gave me one of the original photographs of when the Firefighter's were raising the flag on the ruble of the Trade Towers. I still have it to this day.

A pretty crazy story huh? Talk about the what if's.....

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. We are continuing to monitor Florence.
The track has been shifting a bit to the west after landfall. Our local TV station continues to emphasize heavy rains and flooding in central NC but so far, they are keeping sustained hurricane force winds away from our immediate area.
The cottage? Being at ground zero, the only bright spot there is the insurance!
I very much doubt it could sustain CAT 4 or even CAT 3 winds. We are already mentally reconciled to loosing that.

Crown, I sure hope that you don't lose it. I'm keeping you in my prayers and everyone else in the storms path.

I'm worried, if this thing doesn't all of a sudden go out to sea, it's so strong and so big of a storm, the eye wall is huge, that it cause severe destruction all up and down the NC and SC coast and cause flooding everywhere. So many people are going to affected because of this storm. I pray for everyone in it's path, that they evacuate and head to safety.

That's all very, very chilling ... thank heaven you weren't there.

Aww I worried the same thing last year when Gandalf was still a crazy puppy and his first Christmas lol, putting up the tree went better than I had expected and every night him and the kitty would fall asleep under it :) . I hope Rocky calms down a little bit for you so you can get up your decorations! If not you might have to do one like this? ;)

Lol, I hope I don’t have to do anything that! Fingers crossed that Rocky calms down!!!
