Christmas Countdown - 2018

[Holiday]

Good morning MMC! Merry Pines Day!!! It's another cooler (and dreary) morning! Haven't seen any peeks of sun at all so far!! I was sleeping so good when my alarm went off - scared the begeezus out of me!!

Work for me today. Miss Lu goes to the groomer at lunch. I have the oven pre-set to turn on so I can throw cheesy corn bread in when I get home for lunch, take Lu to the groomer, then it should be about done when I get back from dropping her off! After work I'll pick up my girl & then deliver all the soup & corn bread to our friend & 2 neighbors! Other than that - no plans for today! My hubby has been working re-load after delivering all week, so he's working 12-13 hour days. He's hoping to have Friday off. xx It's been pretty quiet around our house!

Hello everyone. It’s hard to believe that this beautiful ray of light, the best thing that has happened to me (besides my children) and the source of making my life completely beautiful was 1 month old on Monday. I love watching her, being with her and her parents and being called a grandpa (technically Pappi).

My life is now full.

So excited for them both.

Yes, Yorkies have a lot of energy. Although I have to say my girls weren’t this wild. Maybe it’s a boy thing, I don’t know. He’s still a puppy, I know things will change. I hope you’re having a Haopy Tuesday so far!

I am definitely feeling a bit overwhelmed this year. There’s so much going on, but it’s all good stuff! The wedding plans are moving along. I just received my oldest’s bridal shower invitations, I will be mailing them out very soon. The time is flying by. And my youngest and her fiancé are settling in nicely to the new apartment, thank you for asking!

Good evening all,
A day of somber reflection for many reasons today, the horrific
events that took place 17 years ago will always be etched in my mind. Every year someone always asks the question, "Where were you...?" I remember it clear as day, along with the fear, the tears, and the unknown brought on by those attacks. My heart is always heavy for all who lost their lives that day.
This year it is a bit different for me also, it was a year ago today I made the decision to leave my wife, it was out of the blue but had been simmering for some time after we stopped communicating. I had enough and just left. I came back a few days later, we struggled, we separated again a few months later, got back together again, but we have been together since then. We have worked hard at our marriage and are stronger than we were 6 months ago, but the emotions of that day hit me hard today. A lot has rushed through my head today. Sorry for droning on, I just needed to get that out.
Everyone stay safe, and have a goodnight.

Happy Pines Day MMC! Another rainy morning here but can't complain because those who are in the path of the hurricane I feel for. Hoping that forecast somehow changes and it doesn't turn out as bad as they forecast. Just a lot to do at work but that's better than nothing to do. Hope you all enjoy your Mid-Week Pines Day!

Merry Pines Day!
Looks like a dreary day today with some showers and t-storms.
Prayers for all in the path of the storm.
Typical day of work for me and my oldest daughter has a pasta party tonight for her soccer game tomorrow.
She also asked us if she could go to a fair this weekend with some friends and a boy she likes!! Of course I was grilling her with questions...

The hurricane watch for us goes on but things are getting a bit more encouraging this morning, as we continue to watch the track and intensity predictions.
More below.

We continue to watch and monitor this, as well:
Days to the Season: 62
Days to Christmas Day: 104

Barely over HALF a week remains now until the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY Milestone marker and the beginning of a double, double-digit count.
(Really starting to close in, now!)

Other than the pending hurricane, our weather has not been too bad. A little light rain with lower humidity and temperatures. You can still tell it's summer of course, but it's not overly oppressive.
This morning's hurricane track update shows a significant jog to the left just as the storm reaches the coast. If this trend continues, things should be a lot better for central NC. The winds are down a bit as well. Encouraging!
Our current temperature reading is 74 degrees, here.

Well, it's mid week.
Some suggested the idea of a hurricane party to Carl, but he vetoed the idea. He takes these things quite seriously.
Nevertheless, the 'Pines is open for business this evening with the usual never-ending supply of fired twinkies and the bottomless vat of sweet iced tea. Hope to see you there!

Hope everyone is doing well. Checking in for the first time this year. I started my Christmas shopping today and moved some Christmas music over to my phone for listening. Even snuck a cheeky christmas song into the pub quiz I host every Tuesday!

I saw that this morning! A huge change since last night. All of a sudden, the models are all showing her taking a hard left turn and running parallel to the coast line and entering South Carolina now. This is all changing by each update.
