I bet!!
Aww, poor girl :) Was it because it was noisy?
It had been noisy, but they turned off the equipment as she came out. I think it was just b/c there were 5 strange men in our garage/driveway! LOL!

Thanks snowflake! Hopefully all goes well!! Trying to stay positive about it! ;) It will be a change after being here 18 (almost 19) years!

Well a GOOD friend would take care of the bill!! :p ;) :D

How's miss Har?
You're welcome!
I know, it is a big change. But you will be great!

Hmmm...maybe @prancer? :P

Har is doing her best, still confused and sad, but we are giving her a ton of love. Hopefully she adapts soon.

Oh, I bet prancer will pay it for us!? :D

Give that sweetie a hug from me!! I bet it is an adjustment for her!

Thanks!
There's some flooding nearby, but I'm not stranded at the office (yet!).
Oh don't get stuck there!! I could think of better places! ;) (although I'm sure there are worse places too...) Stay safe!

Our friends Dad fell off a ladder this weekend trying to pick apples - he has to go for an MRI! Hopefully he will be ok. Anyway, our friend & her sisters went & picked all the apples & we ended up with a BIG box full!!! Not sure what I'm going to do with them! Yikes!
Hope you enjoy yours! I bet your house did smell amazing!!!

Hope your friends dad is OK
You can make applesauce, apple butter, apple pie filling, jewish apple cake :)

The one we go to is Moods Farm Market on Rt 77 right outside Mullica Hill closer to Elmer. They also do hay rides for the kids too.
I've heard of it before. Next week we have a field trip to Duffields next week to pick pumpkins and go on a hayride. The kids will get to try apple cider donuts. We already know Carolina likes the donuts. The Duffield family goes to my church and we have known them for years. They were really good friends of my grandmas and helped her a lot.

We go to Duffields to pick strawberries in the spring. Moods also has fresh made apple cider donuts and they make apple cider slushies.

You got it! Ham & Veggie is one of my all time faves!! It was my Dads specialty!

Ham and Vegetable Soup

TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. Cook: 3 hours 10 min. YIELD:16 servings

2 pounds smoked ham hocks (I use shanks)
4 medium carrots, sliced
1 cup thinly sliced celery
1 medium onion, chopped
8 cups water (I substitute some of the water w/ 1 can of chicken broth)
2-1/2 cups diced unpeeled red potatoes
1 cup each frozen corn, peas and cut green beans
1 can (11-1/2 ounces) condensed bean and bacon soup, undiluted
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions
1. Place ham hocks, carrots, celery, onion and water in a Dutch oven or soup kettle; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2-1/2 hours or until meat starts to all off the bones.

2. Add potatoes and vegetables; bring to a boil oil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove hocks; allow to cool. Remove meat from bones and cut into bite-size pieces; discard bones. Return meat to kettle. Stir in bean and bacon soup and pepper; heat through. Yield: 14-16 servings (4 quarts).

Amish Chicken Corn Soup
Creamed corn and butter make my chicken corn soup homey and rich. This recipe makes a big batch, but the soup freezes well for future meals—one reason why soups are my favorite thing to make. —Beverly Hoffman, Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania
Makes
12 servings (about 4 quarts)

1 medium onion, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 cup shredded carrots
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
(I used a little less)
3 chicken bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 cups water

2 cups uncooked egg noodles
2 cans (14-3/4 ounces each) cream-style corn
(I used 1 can cream style corn & I filled the can back up w/ corn that I par-boiled & cut off the cob)
1/4 cup butter

Directions
  • 1. Place first eight ingredients in a Dutch oven; bring slowly to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until chicken is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, about 30 minutes.
  • 2. Stir in noodles, corn and butter. Cook, uncovered, until noodles are tender, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

You're welcome!!
And thank you! xx

That was this past Thursday - Monday's stretch for us before the cool front came through, and dropped the temperature 21 degrees in an hour plus.
I checked the forecast again - supposed to be near 90 all week, but now they are saying a high of 65 for Saturday. What a change!
