Love that expression ... so funny! I can see that in my mind's eye!
It looks like we came out okay, except for some spotty flooding. The North Shore may have had a tornado this morning (they're investigating now), and the South Shore and Cape are getting pounded this afternoon with the kind of rain we had this morning, plus thunder and wind. Our clouds are lightening up a bit ... I wonder if we'll see a peek of blue before sunset.

I hope you saw that peek of blue you were wondering about! xx

I'm glad you stayed safe. Have you heard anything about your cottage?
Have a good day crown!
Yes.
We did have some damage but less than I anticipated. Some shingles off. Missing siding here and there and some soffit dislodged. Porch screens blown out, of course. Appears no water inside though, which is the biggest plus.
NC Farm Bureau has been notified and an adjuster is to call. Already have someone securing what needs to be, to prevent further damage.
All in all, things went pretty well considering, and it looks like we will survive to be open for another rental season in 2019!

Good Tuesday afternoon, Christmas friends!

I'm getting here later than usual today. Meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Then the boss invited me to lunch...can't turn that down!

Monday I was bragging about my brother and me clearing some areas near out hunting spot on Sunday. There were some very close trees, and it took some careful driving to keep from hitting them. It turns out, I "rubbed" my truck against a tree and didn't know it. Grrr. It caused some bends that will be difficult to repair without taking it to a shop. So, I'm stuck with a bent truck, doggone it. It's not too obvious, but I know it's there.

That's what I get for playing in a truck.

I hope y'all have

Things like that drive me crazy. Hopefully it won't be a costly repair.

Tuesday was a good day. We are back in our house. Our son and his wife came over for dinner. It was our first home cooked meal in our remodeled home. Some items still need to be addressed but the end is in sight.

Thursday I will be joining a group of men from our church on our annual hiking trip into the Great Smoky Mountains national park. We hike 7 miles into the wilderness area of Hazel Creek for 3 days of Bible study, fellowship, and fly fishing. It is always a great time and we should have plenty of trout for dinner then a cigar by a campfire.
Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning, Fellow Voyagers.
We travel together through thick and thin to the same goal. That wonderful destination that is Christmas and its fantastic Season.

So, onward we press, noting the statistics that pass by like ghosts:
Days to the Season: 55
Days to Christmas Day: 97

The Milestone markers come and go like ghosts too. But friendly ones!
The next spirit visit?
Well, it's the 3/4 point to Christmas Day 2018 and it's a scant SIX days off.
UNDER one week, now.
(Put that in your tree stand and trim it!)

Calm and sunny yesterday, with moderate temperatures, no rain and tolerable humitity. What a wonderful change of pace, now that Florence has checked out and left the building!
Today should be quite pleasant as well, and we have commenced it at 68 degrees here, still quite wet from all the recent rain.

Well, it's Pines Day once again and our fearless activities director is busy readying our inn for the pending arrival of autumn and it's seasonal decor.
Look forward to earth tones -- lots of earth tones. (Even earth tone fired twinkes, rumor has it.)
Regardless, it's always a treat to visit and hang out with Carl.
Hope to see all of you there this evening.

In the meantime, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!

Looking forward to seeing you at The Pines!! Have a GREAT day tomorrow!!

Good Luck with the new job!!! I’m sure all the other employees will love you!!

I hope the driveway turned out great too!!!

Holiday I hope you will enjoy a great first day at your new job and that in the long term, it will provide the flexibility that you need and a positive work environment.
Thanks to all of you!!! I'm a little nervous, but I'm also thankful that I know a good portion of the office people already, so that helps a little!

And the driveway is looking good. We were chatting with the boys this morning - they are getting ready to cut in the cracks! Every time Neil would bend over to try to mark the spot for the crack, Lucy would lick his face. LOL! Thank goodness he's a dog lover! :p
