Good Saturday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm sore from playing golf. I know I won't earn much sympathy from that, though LOL. It was a very hilly terrain, so I did a lot more steep walking than my calves are used to. It was good to get home.

Nancy and Elizabeth are spending the night on St. Simons Island with Nancy's sister at another family member's place. I'm not invited; girl's night out. Boo! Sounds like another Star Trek palooza tonight!

Merry Saturday MMC!
Not too much going on here today. I already went food shopping, tidied up the house and started laundry. I’m going to try and take Rocky for a walk as soon as I finish my cup of coffee. He’s still not crazy about it, the poor thing seems to be afraid of everything outside. Not sure if that’s normal for a puppy, my other two weren’t like this. I end up carrying him half way around the block and then he walks back towards the house. Anyway it should be a relaxing day. It’s going to be a beautiful, sunny with temperatures in the mid 70’s. We’re going to grill burgers and hot dogs for dinner. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Cannot believe only 3 months until Christmas Eve!! I need to listen to some Christmas music today.

Thank you, SnowDog. So soon after losing Gloria, it's even sadder.

The new lights will probably look a lot like the old ones! But I'll try to take a photo to post. I usually string the lights the afternoon before Thanksgiving when I get home early (fingers crossed) from work. Then after Thanksgiving I decorate the tree at leisure.

I have some work to do before I string the lights: I usually replace all the purple bulbs with white ones. The mix of colored and white bulbs is really beautiful. I bought a couple strings of white so I could use the bulbs.

That looks really nice Merry, your tree is beautiful! I can really see the difference in the lights by taking out the purple ones and replacing them with clear ones, it makes the tree look overall a lot more brighter and more festive looking and feeling, then just with the regular multi-colored light strands. A very nice improvement.

That is too bad about Rocky, praying that he outgrows it. Poor guy.
If you bring treats with you, I would suggest trying to distract him from what happens to be scaring him at the moment, see if you can get him to focus on you and then praise him & give him a treat.
Does he know “watch me”? Or a similar command? If so, that would be a good start & then eventually just watch me and no treats.
Jazzie is the same way. My parents say that the slightest change upsets her, like a new real estate yard sign, or statue, etc. But she walks great with Harlowe! It’s almost like having her buddy there gives her courage/confidence.
Is there a neighbor friend he could walk with?

It was Mr.'s idea, and he was so right! Adds a little sparkle and brightness.

Good to see there's another Ottawan here, Bran! We also lost our food here. Glad that you were able to have a safe place to go. It really could have been a lot worse. I could see the funnel cloud that hit Gatineau while walking home from teaching in Ottawa. Many of us were very lucky.

I wasn't able to see anything, but the rain in my neighborhood was something else. Never had seen rain like that before!

Happy New Week!

A BUSY weekend, getting errands done and working on personal projects with pre-Christmas deadlines ... I didn't get enough weekend. And not enough sleep last night. A next-door neighbor has some new security lights that glare right into our bedroom window until midnight. We're going to have to ask her to reset the timer to shut them off earlier, or move them. And, sadly, an aunt phoned me from Maryland to tell me that another of my aunts had passed away last Tuesday, but no one thought to call me until she did.

But the happy part of the weekend was going to Lowes and stocking up on GE Christmas lights. Nice, fresh stock to put on the tree this year!

I'm sorry to hear that it kept you up last night Merry. I wish you luck in resolving it with you neighbor.

Glad to hear you're safe as well.

Had I not been walking home at that time, I wouldn't have seen it. I happened to have a clear and visible path of it north of me as I looked up Rochester toward Gatineau.

The rain certainly was something else!

More fall-like today, with temps just around 70, and the sun occasionally peeping through the clouds. Nice, after the sweaty August and early September!

According to the Lowes website, the local store has GE lights strings in stock ... I'm on fire to get over there and get some new strings, as the wires on the old ones are un-twisting and hard to string on the tree. I'm curious to see how much Christmas stuff is out for display!

I picked up a replacement 200 light string at Sam's Club, Saturday. Glad I picked it up there, as Target's price on Phillips' offerings was a chunk pricier.

Good evening my friends and Happy Friday wishes to you all. It's feeling more and more like Fall, especially in the evenings lately. I was driving earlier on the way home from the DMV and I was taking the back roads. I was super surprised to seeing leaves falling from the trees and also laying on those old country roads. The ma-pa roadside stands have pumpkins, cornstalks. mums and apple cider for sale everywhere. I came home and made our first real wood fire in the fireplace tonight.

In reality, it was really a little too warm for it in the house, but it sure did look and fell so nice. The popping sounds, sparks, hot coals on the bottom of the fireplace and the wood smell, yes, the Fall has arrived... We then decided to bake a couple batches of chocolate chip cookies, which I may say are quite warm and very yummy!!! I hope your evening is going well and I hope you have a nice night.

A fire sounds so nice since it has been chillier out...although I heard maybe 80 on Wednesday??

Y'all, it turned Fall last night at 12:00 a.m. and it was literally like Fall rolled into town. We were in the 90's yesterday and have a high today of 64. AMAZING. It felt so good outside this morning. I'm so excited. The hot weather is done, but it is winding down. Our high the next ten days is 80. They had called for some days to be really cool, but that changed.

Nonetheless, this is amazing.

We are going to a football game today and we have luxury box tickets. Free food...and maybe an adult beverage or....7.

Hope you had a great time & the game ended up the way you were rooting for!!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone! What awesome weather we are having! Yesterday was 87, today is 65! I'd roll around in the grass outside in happiness if the neighbors weren't out to watch me! This is the weather I have been waiting for! Actually I'd like a high of 50, but I will take this for now. Have the air off (finally!) and all the windows open, which of course is a feline magnet. All 5 of them are either sitting in a window stalking blowing leaves or they are chasing each other through the house. The cooler air makes them a bit crazy! Not too much on the agenda, have to get started on laundry and get ready to cheer on the Buckeyes! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Week one and you are already tasked with putting up the Christmas tree ~ awesome and fitting!!!!

The tree frogs have been quiet the past few days ~ it has turned a bit chillier out this way. I love listening to them, too! They "sing" all night long sometimes!

And thank you! I would gladly take the roll of Christmas decorator!!

I hope everyone is having a great day! Earlier this week I broke out one of my Christmas book series to start reading in anticipation for the authors next Winter trilogy to come out. I just finished Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand and am starting Winter Stroll. Her next Winter series book is released October 9th I believe.
