Christmas Countdown - 2018

Thanks!! It did!! She gets to go back twice a week for the next month and then probably once a week after that for awhile. Thankfully the wifi worked great. So I’ll have something to do while sitting there all that time.

DH and I were saying this last night. DD is 9 and some of the fun things we do, she won’t be interested in much longer. I’m afraid this might be the last year she believes in Santa too. Not only is she getting older, but DH and I both work Christmas Eve night and Christmas Night, which we will both be gone 12-14 hours at a clip, it makes it hard for the kids anyway, but also hard for all the aspects of hiding gifts, etc. We’ve always made it work in the past and the kids are blessed with wonderful grandparents, who help out, but yes, I will be very sad too when the day comes.

Good morning MMC!! TGIF!! Whoop Whoop!! Sooooo looking forward to the weekend - even though it's bittersweet as it's our last weekend at the lake for the season!! But having a 3 day weekend will help! And if the weather stays good, we may be able to squeeze in another weekend yet! xx

Just work for me this morning, a stop at moms & then Lucy & I will head to the lake! Can't wait! Supposed to be a rainy weekend, but hey - we have Christmas on Hallmark!


Sunday night is the annual Ladies Night/Christmas Open House at the hardware store. Always a great time. We will go out for Mexican after. Can't wait to see this years lights/decorations!!!

The tuning is done. I have a new tuner this year (the previous one passed away, sadly), and he did a beautiful job---even adjusted the and lubricated the action, thoroughly cleaned the keys, and tightened the screws of the bench. I played a little after he left, and the piano feels happy to be in such good shape! So he's the one I'll call next year when tuning time comes 'round.

She's doing better as the week is going along. We keep telling Mandy (Amish) that she is stuck here - we aren't going to bring her home anymore. Mom seems to do better when Mandy is here. LOL!
We had her giggling last night - actually Lucy did. Lucy got ahold of a Rubbermaid container Mandy had sitting on a chair & she was RUNNING around the tv room with it playing keep away from me & Mandy. Mom was laughing so hard. It was cute. (though I owe Mandy a new container...)

I'm so glad Mom is doing better and that she had a good laugh over Lucy's antics! xx

That is a great tune! I love that one. As a matter of fact, I love the whole soundtrack. It’s one of my all time favorites.

Gosh Sugar, I sure hope for you, that they hold onto being a kid for many more years to come.

Yes, you will be sad and it may break your heart to experience that with them, but, it will also open up more doors that you will be able to do with them. I actually cried one night because they no longer wanted to do the things they used to when they were younger.

My kids trick-or-treated, all the way thru High School. They would all meet up at my home (their friends) and then go out as a group.
Santa, sighhhhh, one of the worst things I experienced was when my daughter stopped believing, (with the assistance from other kids on the school bus), she cried, and said to me “Daddy, you lied to me!”. That about broke my heart.

Thank you so much! Our whole county does it the last Thursday in October. I’m not sure how this came about or why, but it’s been like that for years, even when I was still Trick-or-Treating.

That sure is different, I’ve never heard of any town ever doing something like that before. Sooooooo, does that mean of you take them to another town, they could Trick-or-Treart on Halloween night also?

I'm glad the zoo was fun and that Carolina's Dr. appointment went well!

Thanks the zoo was perfect for her age. They got to see some cool animals when they were in the education center. Carolinas favorite was the chinchila

Thank you nmc, I plan on staying in until the storm passes. My youngest has a class on Saturday mornings, I’m praying it’s canceled. Hopefully she’ll get an email saying she doesn’t have to venture out in this.

Good morning ~
Merry Saturday!
I’m just having my coffee and watching the news right now. We’re expecting heavy rain and very windy conditions today. It’s a fast moving storm and the weather is supposed to improve after 3:00pm. I’m just going to work on some chores around the house, I already straightened up and started laundry. I’m going to make a big pot of escarole & bean soup with tortellini for dinner, with a tossed salad and mozzarella bread as well. Maybe I’ll run a couple of errands later today, weather permitting. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!!!
