Happy Saturday everyone! Very rainy here and our high will not even reach 50 today! Perfect day to stay indoors and catch up on watching shows. Yesterday my brother and I made the long trip north (3 hours each way) to visit my parents and sister for the day. I know I have mentioned here that my father is very ill; he is terminal at this point and we are trying to visit with him as much as possible. He can barely get out of bed but when he found out we were there he was able to get up and make it to the table. He looks so bad, it is absolutely heartbreaking, but he was in good spirits yesterday and had us laughing at all his crazy jokes and comments. It was such a good time in the midst of a horrible situation. We brought him a lemon meringue pie, one of his favorites, and he was actually able to enjoy some, which made me so happy. And, before he woke up, I was able to sneak my mom off to a local store that does a "Christmas Lane" with tons of decorations, lights, music, and trees. I have visited there almost every year since childhood and it is an annual tradition for my mom and I to go. I wasn't sure if she would make it there this year as she can't leave my father alone anymore, but my brother stayed with him so we could go and enjoy. I am just very grateful for the day we all had, as I know those kinds of days won't be here forever.
