Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Saturday midday! This was the coldest morning yet this season, well below the freezing point with the windchill factor. I am currently at work with mouse ears and collar on. Loki kept the tail which wasn’t staying on very well. The mall is hosting Halloween activites today so we asked everyone to dress up. So far 8 employees and us 2 managers have gotten into the spirit of it, it’s quite fun. More to come on October 31st too. Hope everyone enjoys a great weekend!

Hello everyone.

Wow, it seems like forever since I have been on here. Life has been busy.
I thought this would be a easy fall, but I was wrong. Nothing bad, just busy.

To catch-up: The Little League Football season is over. The boys went 4-2 with the second loss being in the playoffs. We had a game cancelled due to heavy rain and really bad field conditions. It was a great and fun season. We have the end of the year party in a couple of weeks.

I also started working with the High School football team part-time. They have won 7 straight and are in the playoffs.

Nathan (my oldest son) is done with Basic Training and is not at Fort Lee, Virginia for AIT. We will get to see him at Christmas time. He is loving the Army so far. We are very proud of him.

The school year has been good so far. Henry is having a good year of school too. The first quarter is over.

We are getting ready for Halloween, which trick-or-treat is on Tuesday in our town. The Halloween decorations will come down Thursday evening most likely. The inside Christmas decorating will probably start that evening also, or at the latest, next weekend. The outside stuff will follow quickly, depending on the weather.

Though we have been busy, it has been a fun fall. Once the weather finally stopped being super hot it has been wonderful and we have been able to enjoy some time fall weather and activities.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the fall.
I am going to try to make every effort to get on here much more often. I have missed it.

Happy Saturday everyone! Very rainy here and our high will not even reach 50 today! Perfect day to stay indoors and catch up on watching shows. Yesterday my brother and I made the long trip north (3 hours each way) to visit my parents and sister for the day. I know I have mentioned here that my father is very ill; he is terminal at this point and we are trying to visit with him as much as possible. He can barely get out of bed but when he found out we were there he was able to get up and make it to the table. He looks so bad, it is absolutely heartbreaking, but he was in good spirits yesterday and had us laughing at all his crazy jokes and comments. It was such a good time in the midst of a horrible situation. We brought him a lemon meringue pie, one of his favorites, and he was actually able to enjoy some, which made me so happy. And, before he woke up, I was able to sneak my mom off to a local store that does a "Christmas Lane" with tons of decorations, lights, music, and trees. I have visited there almost every year since childhood and it is an annual tradition for my mom and I to go. I wasn't sure if she would make it there this year as she can't leave my father alone anymore, but my brother stayed with him so we could go and enjoy. I am just very grateful for the day we all had, as I know those kinds of days won't be here forever. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and gets to enjoy family and friends this weekend in whatever you do!

We ended up not taking our fall walk because it rained most of the day. We went to Chili's for lunch and then walked around Barnes and Noble. I got my first Peppermint Mocha Latte from the cafe since I'm not a Pumpkin Spice fan. We binged and finished Making Murderer part 2 also. Mike is hoping a 3rd season a is released. I hope everyone had a great day

Hey, all! Hope this finds you doing well. It was a great day. Started off by giving the ACT to our kids and then came home and played outside. Went and bought groceries and we just got done grilling out and cooking smores. It was magical.

Doc and I are sitting here and watching scary movies and Christmas shopping online for the girls. We are super excited about Halloween, but even more so about putting our Christmas tree up next weekend. I'm taking off next Friday and setting everything up, plus I am going to sit out my Christmas village. I'm pretty excited about that.

Morning MMC! The rainy Saturday is followed by a semi-clearing Sunday. The good things is this week coming up seems average to even above average temps which is a change from the last few weeks where it's been downright chilly to almost cold. Finally we are drying up since it poured all day. My daughter has a softball game and I have to take my daughter to the Apple store...she is having issues with her phone. Hopefully I can watch a Hallmark movie today too.
