That is so awesome that you do that! Most of them I have started have a sequence - one is a corner to corner so I can't cut that short - another I'm using a discontinued very soft yarn - I plan (if I ever finish) to use up all the yarn & then call it done. I think I only have a skein or 2 left. Another is a sequence of about 14 colors - using each color on the bottom & each color on the top - so those are hard to cut short. I could probably donate to a battered women's shelter, but even that is 50 miles away. We really have nothing close to donate too - we have to drive for everything. We are so rural here.
Here's one way you could use the afghans that have incomplete color sequences: donate them to an animal shelter charity. The dogs and cats won't worry about whether the sequence is unfinished. Here's an example of one where you can mail in the blankets. Just Google "donate crocheted blankets animal shelter."

Happy one week until the Christmas Season, everyone!!

I know you're all just as excited as me for the Season. The world is starting to welcome Christmas. Colours are everywhere. Soon, bells will be ringing and carolers will be singing. It will be wonderous for all.

I can't stay long. I only have enough time to check-in and out quickly. Teaching is consuming my life, once again. I hope you are all doing fantastic.

I have a busy week ahead. Report cards are due next Tuesday. Plus, I will be traveling home to Sault Ste. Marie on Friday night, then driving to Green Bay on Saturday to watch the Packers vs. Dolphins game at Lambeau Field. The Packers really need to turn around their season.

I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. I look forward to - hopefully - being able to countdown with you all in real-time next Monday evening. We are soooooooo close!
Have a great trip home & enjoy the game!! Safe travels!!

I'll be in Indy Thurs-Sat for Bands of America and it looks like it's going to be cold. I'm glad Lucas Oil Stadium is enclosed!

I sure will enjoy Christmas commercials over campaign ads and robo calls. I early voted, so it hasn't mattered to me for a couple of weeks.

A kink in our Christmas traditions this year. My uncle & aunt can't come for Christmas night since they don't drive in the dark anymore. We were trying to find another time (maybe a Sunday afternoon) between Thanksgiving & Christmas to spend some time with them. Then my brother sent Mom a text that he is scheduled to work Christmas day. He started a new job yesterday & just got his schedule. We usually have Christmas on my side of the family on Christmas night. Things change & we have to change with them. It's harder to get everyone together when there are three kids with families of their own & you have to account for their time with in-laws too.

I got maybe five hours of sleep last night (I need at least eight). At 3:45 a.m., Hyper Reach started sending phone calls & e-mails about severe thunder storms, then about a tornado warning. When that happens we have the following: my cell phone rings, DH's cell phone rings, we both get a text, the house phone rings, and now that DD has a cell phone, she got a text, but no call. The person who had her number before her must have signed up for the alerts too. DD slept through it all, but DH & I might have gotten 30 minutes of sleep at a time between 3:45 & 6:00. Extra tired today & we have a birthday dinner to go to for one of our nieces tonight.
Have fun in Indy!!
I hope you can figure a time that will work for everyone to get together for Christmas! On my side of the family we always stick with Thanksgiving supper (the actual day) & Christmas Eve. Whoever can make it, can make it. But we are dealing with over 50 people.
We are having an issue trying to get Thanksgiving planned with my in-laws. My MIL mentioned the Ohio State - Michigan game day. That's not happening - not starting that. LOL! (And we already have plans)

"Now that's what I call"...Thanksgiving Spirit!:D
Agree - love it! It was fun to see when I got there yesterday how many picked turkey & how many picked ham.

Merry Tuesday!

The voting precinct was packed today as there is a recall election going on for several township officials, but I was still in and out in five minutes. Took the scenic drive into town and the brown, russet, and deep maroon trees looked absolutely beautiful against the dark grey sky. :)

The wind might have calmed down a bit, but it sure has gotten cold. Only going to be in the 40s the next few days and one station even said there could be snow flurries. :shiver

Be merry!!
Merry Pines Day M!!!! Stay warm!!!

Good Tuesday evening. If you can spare a good thought or two for my colleague I would greatly appreciate it. Her first sonogram last Friday has her doctor concerned enough to have transferred her case to the St-Justine's hospital for children in Montreal. She's waiting for them to call her in for further tests. The nuchal translucency is thicker than normal, which could mean anything from a virus to Down syndrome or other serious issues. She showed us a picture of that little life growing inside of her, so beautiful. I'm really hoping that further tests will show there's nothing wrong.
Praying further test show everything is perfect! xx
Have a great day Martine!

Just another day of work. It was dreary and rainy. Today was also super stressful for my town as it was the election for mayor, council and school board. One person who won a seat on the school board was elected a few years ago and quit because he was "bored". I don't understand how people could vote him in again knowing that he quit last time
We had a BIG school levy this year - got shot down big time. 1st time in a long time our school levy didn't pass. I think it made many voters come out!
Hope you get your laundry done today!
Enjoy your day!

Morning MMC! We finally should see some sun on this Pines Day. That will be nice for a change. Looks like a really cold blast comes in this weekend and then an even colder one next week at this time. Brrr...going to feel like winter in Autumn. Have a great day!
Have a great day!! I hope Rollins stays warm in the upcoming cold weather!!! (It feels really cold here today w/ the wind! Brrr)

Merry Pines Day ~
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 60 degrees. I’m going to pick my mother up later this morning and we’re going to make a Costco run. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. I also have to make a pot of sauce, dinner will be spaghetti and chicken parmesan. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day. See you tonight!
xx
Have fun with your mom today!!
Do you share your sauce recipe? Every time you mention cooking homemade sauce, I can smell it! ;) Ha ha! Sounds soooo good!
Have a great day HMG!

I just saw Freeforms 25 Days of Christmas schedule. I'm pretty disappointed with it since it will be a lot of repeats. I did see that AMC will be showing lots of the movies and Rankin Bass shows so I think that I will be watching that more instead this year

Good Morning fellow Christmas lovers !

another wet and windy day here in south western Ontario.
Working (paid work that is) today, 4 hour shift so should go fast.
My daughter has a few things yet to get for decorating reception hall and final fitting for her dress is tomorrow morning in London. LittleCS and I have our dresses altered and almost ready to go. Need to find a suit for my son, he tried his on and it no longer fits (should have done that sooner !)

We are looking for a skinny Christmas tree this year, with our limited space I thought this would be a much better idea.

Hope you all enjoy your day, think of you often even if I do not have much time to come here.
Hope all the wedding plans are coming along nicely!
And I hope you find the perfect tree! :) Have fun shopping!
Have a great day!

Well, Friends. It's nearly here. We are on the threshold.
TOMORROW begins our Special Post series, as we count down the final days to the beginning of Christmas Season 2018.

Let's look at the numbers first, then re-cap the post schedule.
Days to the Season: 6 (Now UNDER ONE WEEK left!!)
Days to Thanksgiving: 15 (TWO WEEKS from TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 48 (Now below the 7 week mark!)

OK. Once again, the Special Post itinerary:
Nov. 08 (Day 5 before the Season) = Made582
Nov. 09 (Day 4 before the Season) = Binger
Nov. 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = SnowflakeMom
Nov. 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Ballcoach
Nov. 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Minta

You don't want to miss this series, Folks. Trust me.

Nice and warm yesterday, with no further rain.
Today will begin a cooling trend which is supposed to culminate Saturday night with lows below freezing.
For now, we commence this center day of the week with a thermometer reading of 55 degrees.

Well, Halloween is past with Thanksgiving pending, and this is a busy time of the year for our harried but always friendly activities director, Carl Camel.
With all the spooky decorations down, our inn of choice is taking on a fall/Thanksgiving decor and no doubt the open house on Nov. 21 will be a very memorable one with all the fixings.
Until then, come and join us at the 'Pines this evening for a festive fall experience.

Until that time, have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everybody!
Looking forward to the special posts!!
:jump
See you tonight at the Pines!

Happy Pines Day! Finally we have some sun out there...just work for me today and it is so nice not to see election commercials and I saw a Christmas one for Michael's for a sale on trees and holiday décor. Hope you all have a great day!!
Agree - I won't be missing election commercials!!
Have a great day SFM!

Good morning! Getting ready to settle in to bed for a few hours and then get up, do some more shopping and just relax. It’s Pines Day! Have a great day!
Hope you get some sleep & have a great day!

Happy Pines Day, MMC!!! The sun is shining and the wind has died off. So it should be a beautiful day!!! Mom has PT at 11:45. So I get to spend the lunch hour at the hospital. The gift shop is having a Christmas open house at least so I can kill some time checking it out. Then I have few other errands to run. I need to put the finishing touches on my special post for tomorrow too. It’s not as eloquent as I was hoping for but I think I get my point across. I hope everyone has a great day!!
I'm sure your post will be great. Looking forward to it! :)
Have fun shopping & I hope your Mom's PT goes well!
Have a good day!

Good Morning folks! We've had our tree up for a few days now, without decorations, to see how our new cat takes to it. It has gone well - hoping to throw some decorations on it this weekend.
Hope the cat takes well to the tree & decorations. Have fun decorating!!!
