Soooo bummed I missed the countdown last night. But for good reason. We were all gathered together at moms b/c they weren't sure she would make it through the night. Yet she goes on. She seems more alert today. Hard telling what the next few days will bring. :(

Hope you are all having a good Tuesday! Welcome to the season!

Sorry I missed the complete countdown. I went as far as I could go and then I was toast! Stacking Firewood all day out there in the cold just seemed to take it out of me. I got a hot soaking bath, then I was relaxing in bed as I was typing here on the Countdown, and then I was gone. I woke up about 3:20 this morning, and just rolled over and went back to sleep.

Those vigil’s are so hard. Prayers for your Mom and the family. May she have a peaceful journey.

Well it seems I just got here, but it's time to head to job #2 - see ya'll tomorrow - hopefully! Have a great day/night!

Our band trip to Indy was good & DD loves band even more than she did before. DH & I said she would either love it or hate it & want to quit! She is in percussion & she's either banging on everything or watching the performance over & over on her phone. We're just glad that she's into something that isn't harmful & she's making new friends.

DH & I had the day off yesterday so we went Christmas shopping for DD. Maybe a couple small things left to pick up for her. She wanted a pair of boots & tried those on. Otherwise, she said to just surprise her. Sometimes it's good to have a teenager who isn't picky! DH also picked up new pieces to go with his Dept. 56 National Lampoons Christmas Vacation village.

Right now I'm between, "Hurry up, Christmas!" & "Wait, I'm not ready yet!" We have confirmed all family celebrations for the holidays. Thanksgiving breakfast with DH's family & Thanksgiving lunch at my sister's house with my family. Maybe I can start decorating Thanksgiving night if I'm not too tired. Christmas Eve we'll meet DH's parents at the mall to people watch while FIL does his Christmas shopping. Christmas morning is breakfast with DH's family. My family will celebrate Christmas this year on December 30 because my brother just started a new job & he has to work through Christmas. I know my mom will be sad on Christmas Day but she knows the family is getting bigger & it's harder to get us all together at the same time. I might go by & see my parents on Christmas Day after we leave the in-laws.

Just had to share this link with you folks.

It's a Christmas medley by the Boston Pops.
Runs less than 9 minutes, but if you like instrumental Christmas music played in a beautiful, traditional style, you'll love it!

Keeping you all in prayer holiday!

I got a nice surprise when I got to work this morning. After working the double on Sunday and my district manager realizing how much overtime I was going to have my boss had to get my shift covered on Thursday. Now I have 2 days off in a row. Right now I am sitting in the car waiting for Carolinas school to open the doors for pick up. It is grey and feels super chilly out. Thursday we have a chance of rain snow mix

I’m so sorry to hear your mother is declining more. Continued prayers! ❤️

Written by Leroy Anderson (who also composed "Sleigh Ride") for the Boston Pops. A GREAT piece of orchestral Christmas music.

I included it (with some backstory) on a hosted hour I produced for Kringle Radio's Santa Tracking broadcast this year.

I've heard versions where they interpolated a choir singing some of the music, but I prefer the old standard! Here's the original release.

Good Tuesday afternoon and Happy Christmas Season, Christmas friends!

I'm way too much of a lightweight to last till midnight with you sturdy folks. I've never even been able to stay awake long enough to catch a glimpse of Santa on Christmas Eve! When the sun goes down, I want to go to bed.

It's still raining, and it will for the next couple of days, I guess. That's ok; we need some rain.

I hope y'all have a great start to your Season!! :D

Yes. That's the version I have had in my collection for years but I couldn't find a link to it.
Thanks.
