Christmas Countdown - 2018

Happy Tuesday all. Less than five weeks to go for the big day. Just finishing off the ornaments exchange packages. My only concern is that they will arrive in time with the postal strike here in Canada. So far they haven't come to an agreement. With Black Friday in a couple of days the mail starts to pick up, packages especially. I totally understand why they are striking at this time of year. It's to reinforce the long, hard hours most have to work to get the job done. Let's hope it's resolved quickly.

On a brighter note, our church is having a bake sale on December 2, so I have to get baking. I'll probably make some loaves as they are easy to transport and look in cello bags. And I have some nice holiday themed ones I can use.

Things are warming up a little today, but it expected to go down to -11C (12F) tonight. The holiday weather is upon us. Bundle up and have some hot cocoa.

Good Afternoon/Evening MMC friends...Hope everyone is having a Merry day so far...Not long home after our 4 day vacation visiting my daughter....We all had a Merry time away but also glad to be back home....Got the rest of the week of work so gonna start decorating tomorrow for the festive season....Not feeling to good but not even a cold will stop me decorating tomorrow lol...enjoy the rest of your day ahead MMC friends

Days to Thanksgiving: 2 (DAY AFTER TOMORROW, FOLKS!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 35 (Five weeks from today!)
(Almost gobble time!)

Still pleasant for November, but chillier weather will arrive just in time for Thanksgiving. At least no rain is predicted.
Our current temperature reading stands at 54 degrees here in the capital city.

Can I just say that the appartment smells amazing?! Maple syrup fudge spread is a success. I’ll have to find some cute little jars for when I make it as a gift. I could eat it all with a spoon, that sucre à la crème taste is my weakness. Now onto savoury ketchup. Just waiting for David to get home with the cloves I forgot to buy this morning.

snowing here this am, looks very pretty out there.
Get to take mom out for some errands this morning. I have optometrist appointment later today. Want to get some stuff done here at the house yet.
I think I go into work to have a break LOL

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

Mom and I got home from our trip to the mountains yesterday afternoon. Jacob's band is touring around GA, SC & FL this week, so he's away, Elizabeth went out with her friends, and Nancy was in Atlanta shopping with her sister...so Lulu and I were home alone for hours. I finally got up on the roof and cleaned out the gutters, then fished leaves out of the pool till dark. I got some Taco Bell, then fell asleep on the sofa. Nancy finally came home around 9:30. So happy to see her!

Today is our 24th anniversary, and Elizabeth's 18th birthday!!

Well it’s been a crazy couple days around here but I think I’ve got things under control now. I even knocked out some thanksgiving prep this morning. Which is good because mom has a couple more appointments tomorrow. So I won’t have a lot time tomorrow to get ready. It also doesn’t help that I’m making enough food for like 20 people when there’s only going to be 3. Bring on the leftovers!!
