Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Saturday morning! It’s much warmer this morning, it made for a nice walk in the snow with Loki. We’re getting errands done early this morning and then it’s the big day: we’re putting up the tree and decorations! My Christmas playlist is all lined up. Enjoy your day everyone!

Days to Christmas Day: 31 (ONE MONTH from TOMORROW, Friends!)
Twelve months almost down to one.
The days really passed quickly, did they not?
(And beware. The remaining time will really fly!)

We continue with the rather chilly weather but it's not too bad considering we are in late November.
Our current reading is 43 degrees and an overnight rain has left things rather soaked. We will have more rain today before things clear tonight.

Have Sensational Saturday-After-Thanksgiving, Everybody.
(Better be getting those boxes of Christmas decorations out, if you haven't already!)

the baking of the wedding cakes has begun ! 1 week from today we will be at the church getting ready for the wedding at 11am.
The cakes are champagne with vanilla cream, chocolate truffle with cherry, lemon with raspberry filling and white with boston cream filling. They are being used for desert so this gives a nice variety.
Thankfully home made cakes freeze well, so I bake today, put in freezer and put it all together next Friday.

"It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas"; we have so much snow here and homes are beginning to decorate outside.

Got some errands to run this morning and then working on my cards for the MMC exchange; wrapping up items to send off to my 2 exchange partners. It's going to be a merry sort of busy day.

Going to see my dad tomorrow; we have to get a gift for a cousin that is getting married in Niagara in two weeks. I decided not to attend as my husband isn't up to it and would rather I not go on my own.

O'Malley cat is suddenly starting to play with his spinning ball toy every now and then. Odd that he only plays with his toy when it gets closer to Christmas and then he ignores it. Wonder if he associates all the parcels and cards with something for him. He was really excited when he saw my HOHOHO bubble wrap; I'm not letting him play with it.

Have to take my car to my mechanic later tomorrow to check on the windshield wiper fluid reservoir; think it's frozen.

Hope all our American merry makers had a wonderful Thanksgiving and if anyone braved the crowds for Black Friday deals that it was well worth it.

Merry Saturday MMC!
I just ate a piece of pumpkin pie for breakfast. I love Thanksgiving leftovers
We went out for dinner last night to celebrate my oldest daughters 25th birthday and we had so much fun. I can’t believe I have a 25 year old that will be getting married in six weeks. I feel old!
I don’t have too much going on here this morning, I’m going to do some food shopping and work on the laundry. The girls and I are going shopping later this afternoon, we all need shoes for the wedding. We have dress alteration appointments coming up and we obviously need to find shoes before that. Thats about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

We always take the holidays in order and decorate after Thanksgiving week.
Starting Monday, it's open season on Christmas!

I have our two trees up and lighted, but they aren't likely to have garlands and ornaments for maybe a week or more. I'm up to my chin in Christmas projects with tight deadlines, and they have to be dealt with first. Last year I didn't get to decorate the trees until Dec. 10. As for the outside of the house ... I can't even think about that now.

Happy Saturday! It's a rainy night here so I am no curled up on the couch with a blanket for Christmas movies. Celebrating Mikes cousin joining the Coast Guard was fun also. We got to see some of Mikes grandparents that we haven't seen since his cousin Sailor's funeral last year
