I'm supposed to go to Atlanta tomorrow for an overnight business trip, but we're getting the results from my MIL's cancer scan tomorrow afternoon. Nancy is pretty nervous about it, so I might change my plans and drive to Atlanta early Friday morning for the meeting. I pray she gets a good report, too!

Gosh, baseball season seems SO far past just now.

Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Advent do have a way of erasing seemingly recent events.

There was no one on the computers downstairs, but I was using my ancient laptop upstairs as I had to use a special program to send files. Usually the library is packed, but I went during the children's story time and a lot of patrons avoid the area at that time.

Work for me today - both places. New job is VERY busy so I should head over there earlier than normal, but old job is VERY busy too, trying to switch things over & close down some accounts. Gah!!

Friday is my annual shopping trip with my friend, Saturday morning we are having the burial of moms ashes, & I just found out last night that I am hosting candy making day this year, which is Sunday! Gah!! Who wants to come clean my house & finish putting up Christmas & find a place for all these beautiful funeral gifts? LOL! I'll git 'r done!!!

(When we see "White Christmas," it will be a digital presentation, not a print.) It's sad that the digital-only policy is driving smaller theaters and drive-ins out of business and making older, beloved films less available in some cases.

Our local theatre (that's how they spell it!) was going to close, but the owner had several fund raisers and made enough to switch over to digital. It was awesome to see how the town came together to help out!

You know something, I sometimes wonder, I wonder with all this digital transformation of films and such, I just wonder if another 30-40 years, the old projector type film movies will come back out.

I say that, because I just recently discovered the the polaroid camera is making a come back. it’s in style/ the new rave, with the younger crowds. Kinda makes one think

Sort of like the resurgence in vinyl records ... they say some millennials like having “hands-on” music as opposed to just digital files. As low-tech as it is, there’s still something amazing about a reel of film, especially a reel that was struck in the 1930s or 1940s and still runs well and looks great, even if it has some wear. It’s like holding history. We have at least one feature that was struck for the Armed Forces during WWII (in fact, some films were released to the military before they were released domestically). It’s fascinating to imagine where those reels traveled and how many people enjoyed them overseas, and to know that the reels came back to the U.S. and are still being enjoyed.
