You may have to make some homemade nog to get your fix on.

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Tuesday!
It’s going to be sunny with a high of 24, we’re currently at 14 degrees. Not too much going on here, my husband heads back to work today after being off for a week. I am still fighting this cold, hopefully I’ll find some time to relax now that we’re back to our regular routines.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx
Hope you are feeling better quickly, sucks to have a cold I had one before Christmas.
We are slowly getting back into regular routine here too. Still have not taken down the decorations that’s OK I kind a like looking at the Christmas tree.
Hope you have a wonderful evening

Greetings all. The holidays are over and 2018 really kicks into gear. There may be quite a few changes in my household over the next few months, but I will take them one at a time if and when they occur. For now, it is time to relax and look towards all the positive happenings that can be found if I just take the time to really look. And since God and I (as well as the Lord and anyone else) constitute a majority, I'll be just fine.
Have a great first week of January...

Good Morning, New Year Counters!

And just as sure as the calendar flips, we return to our long-familiar countdown format.
Time to settle into the groove and relax a bit as we.......
Wait!!
What's this??
Our first Milestone Marker. Can it be? Can it really be?
It's just 15 days away! Scarcely a day over two weeks!
And can you believe -- it's the 300-day Season Window?
(Well hey, Folks. What can I say? It's the beauty of the Season count, which has been silently running ever since last November 13.)

Days to the Season: 315
Days to Christmas Day: 357

Old Man Winter has settled in and plans to reside here for quite a while, I'm afraid. We did not see the freezing mark all day yesterday and we are starting off this morning at 16 degrees.
Again, we are not predicted to surpass freezing all day.
BRRR!!!

But you have a Terrific Tuesday Friends, whatever your weather!
So excited to be on the count down again!

That's fantastic news; we are also expecting another Grandchild to love (July). I told number 1 son that I already bought the first gift when he reversed his vasectomy 2 years ago. Not that I was eager to get things rolling ... I love buying gifts for the little grands and watching them grow up into lovely beings.
How exciting, congratulations!

Greetings my merry friends :ringy

Well, I'm off to get my haircut and pick up a fancy donation basket/well (for the Serenity Hospice) that will be provided for any family and friends who join my family and I as we celebrate the life of my Christmas Spark.

My mom passed away last Wednesday at 3 p.m. with my father and I present.

I shared with you in the previous countdown thread that I had a strong feeling she was celebrating her last Christmas with us. And she did.

I've been experiencing a mixture of emotions since then, but managed to get through my New Year's Day chat with my dad without any choked up words; he accomplished the same.

My brothers return this Thursday so we can finish our preparations for her memorial gathering on Friday evening.

I am thankful that we shared one last Christmas together and face the New Year with a loss of life, yet a positive attitude and so glad I was there when she exited knowing she was loved and that she doesn't have to suffer anymore.

If it wasn't for her and my father instilling a love and merry fellowship in me as a child and young adult, I may never have become a Christmas Wacko.

I'm thankful for those memories because that trail of believing in celebrating the joys of Christmas year round brought me here to my merry haven.

Festive Regards,
Auntie M.

((((HUGS))))
Sorry for your loss, praying for you all.

Good morning MMC...back to my regular schedule. I had an extra cup of coffee this morning so I should be good to go! This cold weather is terrible but I am still enjoying my Christmas lights at night and having a cup of hot chocolate. They are saying we may get snow on Thursday, either 1-3 or 4-6? We'll see...hope you all have a great day!
We are coming into a cold snap again and more snow as well. I think a mug of hot chocolate sounds like an excellent idea

Sounds like fun
Good Morning ... my last day of my christmas vacation. Kids went back to school and DH went back to work today. Spending the morning doing laundry and tiding up from yesterday. We had extended family over for a family dinner and we had a fun decorating gingerbread houses. Had picked up a couple kids with multiple little houses so kids and the ladies were able to decorate a house each. Had so much fun that we are now planning a NYE get together and decorate Gingerbread houses. Have a great day!
Sounds like fun. We used to do that A few years ago with a group of moms and kids. I miss it I think maybe I need to find a new group and get started again. Hope your day was a good one as well

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

I woke up to no water in Bellville this morning. Correction: There was enough water for me to get in the shower, but it was touch-and-go getting all the soap off before I got out. Whew!

It's not a cold here as it where some of you are, but it's in the teens. I work at a facility that makes concrete poles, and you can't pour concrete when it's freezing, so we're down...except in the office, of course.

They're talking about a possibility of snow tomorrow! In Bellville!!
:snowball
I hope y'all have a great day! :D
You getting snow because we’ve got so much here right now we decided to start sending it out to other places. Hope you enjoy it!

Well, I guess yesterday was the last of the official holidays. Now begins that weird couple of weeks where I actually try harder to do more Christmassy things than I did during December in an effort to keep the spirit going as long as I can. I typically consider the "official" season to continue through the first Sunday of January anyway, even when New Years Day falls early in the week like it did this year. But regardless, I'm definitely at that point now where it's tough to fend off those Post Christmas Blues. I was doing pretty good up until this morning. Even after Christmas Day I didn't get too depressed and just took comfort in the post-Christmas/pre-New Years week. Had a fun nostalgic holiday centric New Years Eve/Day. Went to bed last night figuring I'd keep the momentum going and just move on. Then woke up this morning and it suddenly hit me, and I thought, oh my god, it's over. Panicked a little. And then figured no way, it's too soon. So here I am back in my little holiday corner. At the moment I'm watching Elf and drinking some eggnog with my decorations still on display. Everything is in full holiday mode here! I'll definitely be posting some of my post holiday thoughts in the coming days.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Merry Tuesday!

Still a cold one out there.

When I fed the birds, I noticed a mouse was amongst them, eating the seed. Sometimes chipmunks and the birds will eat together. The cold has a way of bringing the animals together.

Taking care of some paperwork for the store and resting up another day. I'm planning what I want to put out/hunt up for the rest of the year.

Be safe, warm, and merry!
I have rabbits around my place will usually throw out some carrots or something for them.

Good Tuesday late morning! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and will leave shortly. It's still so cold outside but apparently temperatures will be on the rise. It can't be soon enough, I am really tired of this brutal cold and Loki can't walk for long and I feel bad for him cause he sure enjoys his walks. Hope everyone will enjoy a wonderful day!
I am not fond of the cold either and it has been cold here. The snow I like because it makes everything look beautiful and I will be glad when it begins to warm up a bit here. My van is getting reluctant to start in the mornings

Hello everyone! I haven't had a chance to pop in and wish everyone a Happy New Year! My husband and I spent new years eve with my parents. There is no place I would have rather been! We have done that the past three years or so. We order good food and sit at the table and play cards. This year was very special because my father is very ill so I wanted to make sure we were there. He wasn't able to make it out of bed to play cards, but he knew we were there and when the clock struck midnight we went into his room and celebrated with him. I'm very nervous about what this year will bring with him so I am so grateful we made it to see them. I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2018! It is about 5 degrees here and just absolutely painful to be outside. Hope everyone stays warm!!
Will be praying for your family many hugs go out to you

Thanks Star!
I haven’t taken any decorations down yet either. I’m in no rush!
Hope you have a wonderful evening as well!
xx

Well, it looks like the first day back to school (tomorrow) is going to be a short delay. All of the area schools are on 2 hour delays tomorrow. I don't think we will close, but I am sure some area schools will. Thursday will most likely be another 2 hour delay as the temperature is going to be about the same. Friday might be a closed day because it will be colder.
