Just a lazy day here, didn't even watch TV until AFV came on, not much of a football fan, didn't watch any of the 4 games this weekend, but I did watch one of the best hockey games of the season last night. The Bruins won 4-3 in a shootout.

Greetings Xmas365. I use to be a much bigger Hockey fan than I am these days. Just got tired of seeing 45 minutes of fighting and 15 of Hockey...
They have probably cleaned the sport up some since those days of the 70's and early 80's (I hope). But that's the great thing about all the professional sporting events, something for nearly everyone.

Morning MMC! Happy MLK Day! If you're off enjoy it. It's a cold day here and I'm off on my way to work. Looks like we may see a little snow this week but nothing major. And it looks to be a cold week before a January thaw hits. That's the long range forecasts at least and I'm all for that. Plenty of houses still lit and the stores still have 70%+ off on Christmas items. Pretty cool here in Mid-January to see that still going and hanging on. Have a great Monday!

Greetings Edge. In my case, I'm always off on Mondays so, I'll sit back a bit and try to relax some. End of this week will bring in the 40's (or so they say), but then Winter will take back over by the start of the following week. But hey, any break and a chance for the snow on the roads to vanish is more than welcome.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

We finally took down our Christmas decorations on Saturday, and it took almost all day. It sure doesn't take that long to put it up LOL.

It's been cold, with lows in the 20's (a big deal around here), but really nice in the afternoons. I plan to go hunting this afternoon, since it's the last day of the season, so I'll be taking a half-day off. Bernie is going with me, so it should be a good afternoon.

Good Monday Brad. What are you hoping for? I know the seasons for hunting vary from state to state. My interior Christmas will be gone this coming weekend. I need all day as well. The garage becomes a sea of totes as each section (tinsel, ornaments, lights, etc) have their own containers.

Well, our hunch had finally played out. We decided to get a small tree this year because we have a new kitten. Well, can you see our new Christmas ornament? Look near the top! Here's a close-up also, she is soooooo, darn cute, she has this look on her face, "I didn't do anything wrong"!!

Good morning everyone.

Woke up to a nice calming snowfall. Nothing heavy, just beautiful to watch fall. It will snow on and off throughout the day.

Back to school tomorrow, though there is a good chance we will be delayed due to the cold. It is crazy how winters in Ohio vary so much. The previous 2 winters were mild and rainy. We only closed once last year and that was due to ice in March. The 2 winters before that we very cold and snowy, more like this one so far. I really want to live where the cold and snow are the norm. Perhaps one day.

Well, how do you like the white lights look on the tree? I few years ago, I started getting into having the little "North Woods Trees" (little skinny trees, bout 2-4' tall, with just white lights on them, that I can plug in all year round) and I love the look. And it gives me that Christmas feeling all year round.

Really enjoying the lights! I didn’t want to fuss with more than one string of lights, and was afraid one string of 50 would look sparse. I found an unused string of 70, and it’s perfect.

And it gives me that Christmas feeling all year round.

I bought a 6ft one last fall for a dead corner in my living room and want to get a few smaller ones too. Snowflake has several around her house and I just Love the feeling it creates.

Good Monday morning! A gorgeous, sunny day with crazy cold temperatures again. I have the day off and it's a good thing, because I don't think I could've gone in with the way I'm feeling this morning. I thought I was getting better from my cold yesterday but by mid-afternoon at work I was fading and having major coughing fits. When I got home, I took some Nyquil and just had time to watch the exciting end to the Vikings/Saints game before falling asleep. Today I cancelled a bank appointment and other than necessary laundry, I am just going to rest. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning, Folks.

Another new week is here.
And can you believe we are nearly half way through January already?
Wow. Seems like just yesterday we were watching that ball drop.

But there are other things of immediate significance to us that are also hard to believe:
Days to the Season: 302
Days to Christmas Day: 344

And the hardest thing about that to believe is the fact that we are now only TWO days away from the 300-Day Season Milestone marker and the start of a 200's level Season count number.
(So far, so fast!)


We did not get out of the mid 30's all day yesterday.
Starting out cold here again today, at 21 degrees. Possible frozen precipitation for Wednesday and temperatures below 20.
BRRRR!

Good morning MMC! "Merry" Monday!! Got to work today to find our cable box has bit the dust. It's too quiet in the office with no tv!!! I just turned some Christmas Music on Alexa!
It's a snowy Monday morning. LOVE IT! I think it has pretty much quit for now, but it was a winter wonderland earlier!



We had a pretty uneventful weekend. Friday afternoon/night I stayed with mom. It snowed most of the day. So pretty! Saturday I got home from Moms late morning, then went & got her groceries & delivered. By the time I got home it was mid afternoon. Didn't really do much at all Saturday or Saturday night except make supper. Sunday morning I had to be back at moms by 8 - got her up & breakfast & made a crock pot supper for them for tonight. Got home from there around 11 am & then pretty much chilled all day & watched Hallmark. It was a good January weekend.

I played Christmas Song Quiz, Christmas music trivia & Reindeer Games on Alexa this weekend. So fun!

My Christmas is still up in the house in full force. Just haven't even really thought about taking it down. Love it so much. Especially when it's snowy!!

Little miss Lu got her Rabies shot this weekend. So far she doesn't seem to have any reaction. Fingers crossed! She weighed in at 30.2 lbs!

Good morning SnowflakeMom. I'm off today as well and catching up on some podcasts and trying to decide what needs to be accomplished today. Giving blood. Good for you! I am no longer allowed to. Seems that while I was stationed in Germany (even though I rarely left the base), some type of "something" was going on and anyone in the country at the time is not able to give.
You would think in this day and age, whatever could be there would be able to be found. Oh well.

Hi there Minta. Sounds like many arriving at this site today have the day off and not a lot to do. Those are some really special days...
Our snow looks to return this coming Sunday, but before that the temp should rise enough to melt off a portion that is currently here.

Morning Martine. Sorry to hear that you are still under the weather, but glad that you have a day off to help recoup. Mine, for lack of sleep, was yesterday. Got home just after 7AM, went right to bed with plans of waking up in time for the NFL games and wound up sleeping till after 8PM. Guess I needed it more than I thought.
Hopefully your "necessary" tasks will be few. Take care and get better quickly...

Hi Holiday. For someone that speaks about an "uneventful" weekend, you seemed to have been fairly busy. But then, you always seem to be and I'm sure it helps keep you young and in good spirits.
Christmas stuff is up here as well and will come down next weekend. I usually try to have it cleared before Super Bowl Sunday. I am off that day and the Monday after, but this year I have also taken a vacation day on Saturday so that I am well rested.
Glad to hear Miss Lu is doing well and hopefully will continue till the rabies shot wears off.
I am still listening to Christmas music as well, but for the most part it is of the instrumental type. It just seems to sound better to me during the off-season (if there is one).
Enjoy your day and the rest of the week and let's follow the example of our four-footed friends...

Good Saturday evening! The snowstorm has passed and left 36cm of snow. It was a nightmare this morning getting to work. Our parking lot had not been cleared so David had to help/push/clear a path for me to just get to the street. But then my small street had been cleared just once during the night and the car got stuck when I tried to turn into another street. This time I was just about to call a tow truck to get me un-stuck but a pick-up truck which had driven by backed up and two guys came out and brought their shovels and helped David get me out. There are still good people in this world. David gave them money and thanked them for their help.

My troubles weren't over though, there were areas on the highway where we could barely see. And once at work, the parking lot had not been cleared and I almost got stuck but backed up just in time and basically just parked there. The cleaning company people who were coming in at the same time as me also had tons of troubles and one of them did get stuck in the parking lot. We grabbed the shovels from the store and 2 of them got him out. I was relieved getting home that the worst was over but David had warned me that they hadn't plowed our parking lot, so I was dreading having to find a spot on the street in between the mountains of snow, but as luck would have it, just as I turned onto my street, I saw the plow guy leaving our parking lot. The one good thing about today.
