We have berber in our basement & after having water in the basement (more than once) the carpet cleaners told us that berber is a great selection for basements b/c it dries fast!!

We've also had water in our basement on more than one occasion. We ripped up the carpet & left the bare concrete for a while, then decided on industrial carpet. It's thin, wears well, and has no padding underneath to soak up the water. It's not pretty, but it works for us!

All the talk about North Woods trees - I think these are cute from LTD Commodities.

We have two of these trees in the master bedroom. I leave the light on all year & add ornaments for Christmas. We have a third that we use in the dining room for Christmas.

After being warned that the roads would be icy on Friday night & Saturday morning, we got nothing but cold temperatures. Cold all weekend, school & office closed yesterday for the holiday. Of course, today school is closed because we are supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow this morning. Nothing has happened yet. If it does, I'm sure school will be closed tomorrow too. They are running low on "inclimate weather days" to burn through before having to make up the days they are out. We can't control the weather or the forecast thereof, so I just need to go with the flow! I'll let you know if we get any snow this time!

Good morning MMC ~
Merry Tuesday!
I had a busy day yesterday and wasn’t able to make it to the countdown. I’m up early and just wanted to pop in quick to share some news. My husband decided to get me a very early birthday gift this year. Sunday night we brought home a beautiful boy Yorkie. I am so in love with him and I wanted to share a picture. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a puppy in the house and the little stinker is keeping me on my toes. Oh and we’re still working on a name! I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day, I’ll be back later!

OMG!!! He’s adorable and he definitely lucked out in the owners department!!

Morning MMC! Looks like we could see some snow tonight into Wednesday morning. Hoping it's not a lot but after the last storm I'm not believing any forecast till I see it happening. Other than that hope you all have a great day. Seems like January is moving steadily this year. Have a good one!
Have a good day Edge!

Good Morning, Citizens.
Citizens of the great MMC Nation, of course.

Citizens with an acute interest in where we are, where we are going and how long it will take to get there.
And that's what we are here for, to answer these questions, and hopefully to spread a little cheer along the way.

OK.
1) Where we are: January 16, 2018.
2) Where we are going: To Christmas Season and Christmas Day 2018.
3) How long will it take to get there?
Good question.
Here is a good answer:
Days to the Season: 301
Days to Christmas Day: 343

And as to spreading a little cheer, try this on for size:
The 300-Day Season Window will be here TOMORROW!
The following day? We commence a 200's level Season count sequence.
(Now aren't you glad you have your official citizenship here?)

Starting to get used to cold weather again. We remained in the 30's all day yesterday and are predicted to get down to 19 tomorrow tonight, with snow tomorrow morning.
Currently, we see 24 degrees on our digital back door thermometer.

But you have a Terrific Tuesday Folks, regardless of your weather!
TOMORROW!!!!! :jump

We ended up closing! Most of the area schools closed. I have not been out, but I hear the roads are still not very good, plus the cold will not let up until later today.

Well, another day off. This one is a bit complicated because of the end of the semester and I am out tomorrow for a personal day. Plus, our school email has been down since Friday and I have projects I need to grade, which are of course, in my email!

Oh well, I am going to head to the school later today to get things ready for my sub tomorrow and hopefully I can find out about the email and plans for extending the semester another day as well as the grade window.

Today is also Henry's birthday! He is 9 today. He certainly is enjoying having another day off.

Well, everyone have a great day.
I thought maybe they would end up closing here but looks like they went! I just went to the mailbox & oh my that air is bitter. It's snowing again too! :)
Enjoy your day off! Happy Birthday to Henry! Hope he has a great day!

Happy Tuesday!
Back to work for me and my regular day.
We are supposed to get snow tonight and snow all day until early afternoon. I say 3-6 inches. I am sure the kids will be off.
Hope you all have a great day!
Hope you get some pretty snow!! :) Have a good day!

I don't think I ever shared the pictures of Lucy with her cousin Dalton from over Christmas. Dalton is my brothers dog & he lives on the cape. He came to visit a few times over Christmas.

Their 1st Yorkies name was Bentley. Good luck picking a name!! ♥ ♥ ♥
Awww look at those two.

Good evening,

Today was the day, I switched my MICRO-SD card full of Christmas music out for my "off-season" music. I did load some Christmas music on it so if I need a Christmas music fix.
Still have my outdoor lights on, I was supposed to shut them off last night, but I turned them on again tonight. They make me happy.
I hope you all had a great day
Goodnight, everyone
Our outside lights are done for the season, but our quarter stripped tree is still shining brightly.

Good afternoon all. It's supposed to snow again here in Connecticut starting late tonight sometime. The forecast range is all over the map for how much we are supposed to get, depending upon what weather channel you look at, at the time...

My take on it, if it's going to snow, snow a lot! At least then, I can take a snow day....

Rudolph Day is the 25th of month (except in December of course). So Rudolph Day Eve would be the 24th of each month.

Rudolph Day is about taking some time to plan for the upcoming Christmas. This allows you to spread out all of the planning through the year so there is less stress during the fun of the Christmas season.
Can I ask specifically, what some people do on this date each month. I want to make it a tradition. I’ve always been the one who doesn’t start anything Christmas until September. I would like that to change.

Your forecast sounds very much like ours ... including the fact that no two forecasts agree on the amount we should expect. I may end up working at home tomorrow, and I always feel like a heel doing that when less than a foot of snow is forecast, but my car isn't a good one to navigate snowy/slushy roads, especially with me at the wheel.

If it falls during the week, usually not much between work cooking dinner and especially if the kids have any after school activities like sports or tutoring. AT the most we will have discussions on what we want to do, see or be involved with in the upcoming Christmas Season. The lists starts of pretty long and then as the season gets closer it gets narrowed down based on time and finances. If it falls on the weekend I like to use those dates to try a new recipe whether its a side dish, breakfast dish, dessert or cookies.

I agree .. a couple inches is does make things pretty but that also seems to be when the most accidents occur. At least of it snows a lot then we either stay home or people seem to be cautious when there is a lot of snow on the roads.

He is so adorable

Good afternoon, Chilly day here on the east coast, expecting an inch or 2 over night tonight to tomorrow. Just enough to make rush hour tomorrow morning interesting LOL. Of course we bought the kids new inflatable tubes for sledding for Christmas and we haven't had enough snow fall for them to try them out. Thee is still time so hopefully we get at least one more good storm so we can take them sledding. Well my lunch break is almost over. Have a great day!

A good & chilly morning to all!!! Baby it's cold outside!!! My weather app has -1, feels like -16 but my boss' truck said -5! Regardless, it's cold!!
Not much going on today. Just work & then ??? Maybe curl up under a blanket! ;)
It snowed so pretty all day & night yesterday. Loved it. Wish it didn't get dark so early so I could have watched it longer. I did turn on the big spotlight in our back yard so I could see it through the window. Such a fluffy snow. Lucy loved it!!
Everyone, have a great day!!
