Good morning! Sorry for no check-in yesterday, but it was 75F outside and I didn't spend very long in the house. Now, it is 45F outside and I wondering what happened to the heat!

We are out on Spring Break this week. I'm having to work Monday and Tuesday....then off Wednesday through Friday. Doc is taking off on Friday. I'm hoping it is warm enough to take the girls to the zoo.

With more free time, I am hoping to check in each day this week. Wish me luck! Y'all have a good day....off to read the boards!

Good morning. I hope there are not too many out there with headaches this morning; the post St. Patrick’s Day hangover!!!

Coffee is the first order of the day, man, I don’t even drink and I still woke up with a headache this morning; maybe it’s the after effects of the Chinese food we ate last night or the barometric pressure is changing or something.

The landlord to this apartment we are currently renting from, had an open (house or apartment) whatever you would call it, here yesterday, so we spent the morning making the place all spic-n-spam, then sat thru 3 hours of showings with strangers going thru your place. I can tell you honestly, that is a very awkward feeling, to let people that you don’t Even have a clue to who they are, go thru your place. You want to trust, but yet, with today’s world, you just never know if someone is casing your place or not. I know, it’s kind of a synical thought, but it’s just the truth. I mean my goodness, just the other week, it was on the news that someone broke into a church at night, in Bridgeport ct and robbed them of everything of value. Sad, just truly sad!!!

Today, we are going to go to church this morning, breakfast, then do new home stuff (paperwork) and just get ready for the coming work week.

Bridgeport and some surrounding towns have definitely changed over the years and unfortunately not for the better. Used to spend part of my summers there as a child there and loved it.

Good morning .. well my weekend could have been better. Our 1st floor heater stopped working yesterday and my heater guy can't get here until tomorrow morning. It has been interesting keeping the 1st floor warm ... running the oven, keeping a huge pot of boiling water going on the stove, space heaters but it's working. Thankfully its not colder out. Good thing I planned on using my oven a lot today plus I am making a batch of chicken jerky in the dehydrator so that will help to. Trying to keep an eye on the weather to see whats going happen later this week with nor'easter #4 that is expected. Well I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning MMC! TGIF!!! This week seems like it took a month. LOL!!

Does anybody have big plans for the weekend? My hubby has to run the Louisville route tonight. I'm not thrilled about that. He hasn't done the overnight route for years! Hopefully he's able to get some sleep late this afternoon/early evening! xx Tomorrow we are going to the lake! Some of our neighbors are coming up. Our friend is playing at the bar just up the road from our trailers & it's a St. Patty's Day party. I better find something green!

Today it's 3 years since Dad passed away, & tomorrow is 6 years since my brother passed away. Couple of sad days, but time to celebrate their lives! ♥

Today we have bright sunshine with a high of 40 predicted. BUT I keep getting ICE warnings for tomorrow morning. UGH! Hopefully my hubby doesn't run into any of that! By Sunday it's supposed to be sunny & 52! Crazy weather!

Everyone, have a great FRIDAY!!!

I had a week a like that too. Goodness, I had a few curve balls tossed my way and no bat handy.

I know it's still a bit soon for me, but I can't imagine ever not missing my mom; I still miss my dog and she was gone since I was going to College. Hugs and the comfort of memories.

Feels good to slip into my comfy festive jammies and hang my stocking back up on the mantel.

Didn't do much for St. Patrick's Day, but I had a little Baileys 'cause I couldn't stay Irish otherwise.

I've read that the real Irish soda bread is made only with flour, baking soda, salt, and buttermilk. That's what I'm looking for. I saved a couple of recipes from online to try. This one explains it pretty well. I'm not much of a baker, but it sounds simple enough even for me to tackle!

Merry - I had the real deal at a lovely Bed and Breakfast in Ireland many summer moons ago. I tried to make a batch myself for a cookie exchange (I know it's not a cookie). Well, I wanted to make it a bit more nutritious so I used whole wheat flour (YUCK - don't try it) and then I thought it would be neat to toss some mini multi-coloured marshmallows in there so it would be more cookie-like. All the colours blended together and it looked like it was made for Halloween - a bit on the brownish-reyish-green side and hard. I tried a redo a second time without substituting ingredients, but it was still a bit hard. I'm not a baker either.

So, yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and a memory popped into my head about our family trip to Ireland to celebrate my parents 30th wedding anniversary. 5 adults in a small car on narrow roads wasn't as much fun as it was a bit cramped, but the places we went to and the things we did were fun.
We went to a graveyard. We're odd that way, but truly when you visit one you learn a bit of history. On a slab-like tombstone we read a message about the individual resting there.
"Here lies Timothy O'Rielly who was shot dead on a Sunday afternoon, standing on the corner doing absolutely nothing!"
That was quite a bit of writing, I can't find the photo I took with my old "Black's" 45 mm camera.
Stay jolly!

I’d like to have seen your marshmallow batch!

I followed the recipe as closely as I could, and got reasonably edible results, even though at one point I had more dough sticking to my hands than in the bowl! The crust was so hard I had difficulty cutting it, but I put the slices in a plastic bag, and it’s softer today.

Happy Sunday to you all! Checking in to let you know that the fateful day has finally arrived at my house. A milestone in our march away from Christmas 2017. My Christmas village is coming down. It’s the final remnants of this past holiday. Dear wife allows me to leave it up until the weather begins to turn, and I’m a bit late this year. Around mid-February, I stop replacing the light bulbs in the buildings. As the lights begin to flicker out, we say that the village has begun to go to sleep until the following November. Half the buildings are out now, and it’s time. For some reason, I’m finding the process a bit sadder this year. But, we have an amazing summer ahead, and the village will be back just before Thanksgiving!

Here is something to cheer you up. Tomorrow is National Chocolate Caramel Day..National Chocolate Caramel Day is observed annually on March 19th. It’ll put a smile on most people’s faces! It can also immediately invoke some cravings for chocolate caramel candy, cake, ice cream, coffee or just about any treat with this hard-to-resist combination.

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!

Beautiful, just beautiful!!!! Brought tears to my eyes!

I think Binger should come out for an encore.

Oh, to see Jayish, dancing a paus de lux....that, would be an interesting sight!!! We should get him to do one with Carl!

Morning MMC. Happy Last Day of Winter! That does make me happy although this week is going to be chilly still. Eventually it will feel warmer...and eventually we'll be saying it's too hot out at some point. Rollins had a great birthday so it was a fun weekend. Also got everything I needed to done. Now just back to work for a 5 day week. And already thinking about next weekend (like holiday does :)). Have a good Monday!

Morning everyone. I was looking forward to entering spring until I woke up and it was snowing again here in England! Crazy weather. Hopefully it will start to brighten up soon. I have a short camping trip with my family planned over Easter so hopefully the weather will be okay. Lectures were cancelled today as the buses weren't running so probably going to get some housework done since the place is a mess. Hope you all have a good day.
