Good morning ~
Not too much going on here today. I’m just having my coffee and I’m working on a menu plan & grocery list. I need to run to the bank, pet store & butcher this morning. Other than that I’ll be working on my daily chores. We will be attending a wake later this evening, my husbands Aunt passed away. She was 95 years old, God bless her.
I hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful weekend ahead.
xx
So sorry for your loss! God Bless Her!
I hope you have a good Friday & a nice weekend!!

Good Morning!

Weekend Eve.
It's here once again. The threshold of our end-of-the-work-week oasis.
And oases are for relaxing and refreshing. (Hopefully, with a tall glass of sweet southern iced tea.)

While you are sipping (and perhaps muching on that take-out fired twinkie you got at the 'Pines on Wednesday evening) consider this:
Days to the Season: 221
Days to Christmas Day: 263

Consider also the gradual approach of our next TWO Milestones.
1) The ONE-THIRD Christmas Day marker, arriving on April 26th.
2) The 200-DAY Christmas Season window, coming on the 27th.
Back-to-back fun!

We turned cool yesterday but not really out of season for early April.
(And whenever it turns cooler, the pollen fall diminishes.)
Today should be warmer, then we turn downright cold Saturday night, with the overnight low in the 30's. There could be some rain in the picture, too.
Currently, we show 48.5 degrees on our digital back door thermometer.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And a Simply Stupendous Start to your weekend this afternoon!
Low 30's is cold enough, but they have now lowered our low for tomorrow night down to 21º! That's ridiculous!! Stay warm & have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday! TGIF...I am just having coffee and going through emails. We have a quiet weekend planned which is fine with me. Last weekend we were busy since we hosted for Easter so I am looking forward to no plans..hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!
Happy Friday! Hope you enjoy a nice quiet weekend!!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

It's another beautiful day, but it's supposed to be severe thunderstorms tomorrow, doggone it.

Jim's wife continues to improve in the hospital. She's aware enough now to accept visitors, and to post on Facebook. She still has a year in a wheelchair, and a few more surgeries to go, but she's going in the right direction.

Lunch with Mama, Elizabeth, and baby Rosa today. Then Nancy and I are babysitting, so Mama can go out for her weekly dinner with friends.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
So happy to hear your SIL is improving! Awesome!! A year in a wheelchair is a long time at a young age. I'm hoping she will be doing PT to keep some mobility? Can't imagine! Continued prayers for all of you!!
Enjoy your lunch with Mama, Elizabeth & Rosa...and spoil that little Rosa! Have a good weekend!

Thank you. We are scheduled to close, in less than 3 weeks now. However, we are not going to move in right away. The sellers are apparently having issues with their new home being ready on time and they asked us if we would consider letting them lease the home from us for a couple of months. We thought it was a decent thing to do for them, so we agreed. They have one small child and another on the way in June.

Even though we will own it, we most likely will not be moving into it, until sometime like the last week of June +/-.
That's nice of you to let them stay!!! And they can pay for your 1st mortgage payments!! LOL!!
Have a good weekend!!!

Today is a Christmas TV day. The Hallmark channel, has several Christmas movies on today/ tonight back to back. And on Encore Family, has Home Alone and Home Alone 2.

So, grab some popcorn and get cozy tonight....
Can not wait for Christmas on Hallmark today!! Popcorn. Yum! I have been craving that. Might have to make some this evening. Popcorn supper! :D We don't get the channel Home Alone is on, but I'll be just fine with Hallmark! :D
ENJOY!!!!!

Just read about an interesting national day scheduled for tomorrow!!
NATIONAL HANDMADE DAY
National Handmade Day on April 7 recognizes all those who put forth their creative talents into gifts that warm the heart and leave us awe.

Whether its baked goods, beauty products or woodcraft, quilts, toys or artwork, those who create handmade gifts do so with an eye toward craftsmanship. Some carry on traditions from one generation to the next and others transfer skills learned in a trade making it an art form. From artisans to craftsman, tinkerers and those with eclectic style who create beautiful, functional works of art and scrumptious delights, each shares a bit of their passion.

For anyone who has ever received a handmade gift, we delight in these one-of-a-kind treasures. Baked goods, bath and skin products are savored, and we can’t wait for more. Pottery, jewelry and other designs become heirlooms, handed down from generation to generation, gathering history wherever they go. We marvel at each stitch in a quilt or notch in a carving, the care taken to make just the right cut or to pair scents or colors. Custom pieces carry even more meaning.

From inspiration to finished piece, those who have a passion for handmade crafts delight in their projects. It brings pleasure to their lives, and they enjoy bringing them to you.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Crazy day so far. Got a four-figure hospital bill for a minor procedure done several weeks ago, and had to get on the phone to find out why coverage was rejected. It was a referral snafu, so I had to phone my doctor's office, then had to dig up contact information for the doctor who did the procedure ... still not quite ironed out, but well on the way. For good news, though, I got a postcard that my jury duty that was scheduled for this month has been cancelled. For more bad news, we need repairs done on a basement ejection pump---we've called three plumbers, but none of them has called back. It's been over a week.

In spite of that, hoping to enjoy the weekend when it gets here at the end of the workday!
Oh gosh. I hope your bill gets sorted out quick. It usually does!! Fingers crossed! xx
Hope you have a great weekend Merry!

Thank you!
Can't figure out why no plumber will call back. You'd think of THREE plumbers, SOMEONE would at least return our calls. We've called two of them more than once. One asked us to e-mail him, and there's been no reply. Just can't figure out why they can't just communicate with us.

So I think we really have a quiet weekend....I had to go pick up my youngest daughter from school. She felt like she was going to get sick and has a bad headache. She is upstairs sleeping, which she never does so that leads me to know she really doe not feel well. I have a feeling it could be the flu since she was exposed to it..we'll see. I have a call into her Dr's office to see if I should bring her in or not.

How frustrating!!! I hope you get a call back soon!

Bradmac that is great news about Jim's wife! She has a long road to full recovery ahead of her but she's on her way and I hope she will have continued support while being in a wheelchair.

Y'know how people get excited when the various holiday items hit the shelves? I get that way about stars-and-stripes themed items that come out for Memorial Day/Flag Day/July Fourth. Yesterday I saw stars-and-stripes picnic items (plates, cups, glasses, etc.) starting to come out on the seasonal shelves at the supermarket, and got that feeling that "summer's on the way!" (Even if we haven't really had spring yet!)
