Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Morning.

Once again, we have reached the eve of the weekend. It is a once-weekly occurrence.
But a once-daily occurrence is the receipt of brand new count numbers and the taking of another step closer to our next Milestone marker.

Dealing with the first issue:
Days to the Season: 179
Days to Christmas Day: 221

Now for the second aspect. That of our next marker.
A quick perusal of our Countdown chart starkly reveals that our new pending Milestone is the 200-day Christmas Day Window and the start of a double-100's level count sequence.
It also makes it clear that said point arrives THREE WEEKS from TODAY. A scant 21 days from now.
Our march is relentless but our goal is important, so we soldier on.......and enjoy every minute of the trip!

Well, the rain came down yesterday and our heat/air blowers droned on for another full day, trying to dry out our soaked wood with no assistance from Mother Nature. The good news is, despite Ms. Nature's efforts, the wood is nearly dry and the blowers are supposed to be removed later today.
(The silence will no doubt be deafening!)
But the rain is predicted to continue for several more days, off and on.
We begin this Weekend Eve with a temperature reading of 72 very soggy degrees.

Hey friends! Almost the weekend. It’s official as of yesterday: I’ve got my first full time job in my field! So happy. I’m also truly enjoying the rain we are getting-it’s so calming and peaceful. Enjoying it with a good book tonight. Happy Friday Eve!!

Happy Friday MMC! Another weekend here...although it looks like it may be rainy and cloudy most of it but at least it is the weekend! We don't have too many plans, my youngest daughter is having a couple of her friends sleepover tomorrow night because one of them is moving to FL next week. Otherwise it should be a quiet weekend. Good morning MMC! Looks like a rainy weekend in store for us! Good thing we got the garden in last night! Whew! I'm hoping it holds off until at least 1:30 this afternoon so I can get the lawn mowed, or we will have to bale it!

As I mentioned we got the garden in last night. Planted 28 marigolds, 23 tomato plants, 10 pepper plants & a geranium - in moms pot! Ran to the hardware for more potting soil, a new liner for one of my pots - went home & got that pot planted. I was whopped! We have 1 more row of tomatoes/peppers to plant, but I grew them from seed & they aren't quite ready yet!

I think we (me & lake neighbor girls) might head back to Amishville tomorrow morning for more flowers. I didn't buy enough!

This morning was the Hillbilly Parade in town. I forgot about it until I saw all the people. It's the senior's last day of school today so they meet at the legion & drive anything & everything in a parade to school - lawn mowers, mopeds, boats (puled behind a truck of course ) tractors, 4 wheelers... too funny!

So far, so good. The area has been disinfected and the blowers come out tomorrow. Then the reconstruction will begin. Should be completed early next week.

Sale Fest in Frankenmuth today. Started at 8 a.m. and finished around 2:30 p.m. Lost track of how many garage sales I stopped at, but at the end of my trip, I had a few goodies for the store and a few Christmas ornaments for me.

Thank you! I’m working on teaching Rocky how to roll over. He’s actually doing pretty well. I think it’s all about the treats. They have to be really good ones!

TGIF MMC! Enjoy today. Looks like we have more rain moving in later this evening and into Saturday. But the weekend is coming! And it's the last one before the big one Memorial Day! And then we're on the summer road back to the Bers. Incredible how fast this year has been going. Have a great TGIF!

Good morning ~
Merry Friday!
It’s going to be cloudy with showers, highs near 60 degrees. I have to go to the supermarket this morning to do some food shopping. I also need to stop at the butcher. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. I’m going to pick up marinated steaks from the butcher for dinner tonight. I’ll make baked potatoes & creamed spinach as well. Should be a relaxing evening, we’ll just be catching up on some shows. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!

TGIF, Christmas friends!

It's another day of rain in the forecast, with more coming this weekend, but we sure need it.

I'm still vacuuming the pool, and adjusting the chemicals. It's hard to keep up with, with all of the rain that's falling, but it has to be done. Maybe I'll do some pressure-washing, too. I'd be wet anyway, so I can wash in the rain, right?

Good Friday morning! It will be a sunny day but temperatures are struggling to go back up. I have the day off but will go into work to bring cake and say goodbye to one of our long-time coordinators transferring to another store next week. I also have to go shopping for shoes, my old ones are not doing my feet any good right now. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Happy Friday, everyone!

It's a cool, partly cloudy one here, and we're expecting a chilly, wet Saturday. But it's just as well, because I'll be spending at least part of it setting up a new computer and migrating the files from the old one (8 years old---ancient in computer terms). Then the "joy" of poking around to find out which software is now obsolete with the current OS and will need to be updated or replaced. I'm NOT a computer geek, but I have marginally more computer chops than Mr., so I get the job. It's nerve-wracking for me, but I'll get it done.

I have a small desk fan near my bed I run most every night except when it's raining. Then I open a window and fall asleep to the sound of that!
