Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good morning ~
Happy Thursday!
We have some showers passing through this morning but it’s going to clear up and be sunny with highs near 80 today. Not too much going on here. We finally had a couple of Hobby Lobby’s open up on Long Island and I think I’m going to take a ride to check one out. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about them here so I’m excited to go. Other than that I will be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be grilled chicken, a warm potato & bacon salad and corn on the cob. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

And speaking of great, we have made great progress towards Christmas 2018 and it's fantastic Season, as today's data will demonstrate.

First, the count:
Days to the Season: 145
Days to Christmas Day: 187

And is it possible that we are now only FIVE days away from being HALF WAY back to Christmas?
(Yep. A quick check of the Countdown chart confirms it!)

No relief from the heat, yet. Can't wait to see this month's power bill.
(Actually, I can.) We have been in the 90's for several days now, with triple-digit heat index values. We could use a little relief, Mother Nature!
Currently, we record 75 degrees here, headed once again for the 90's.
(If we're lucky, perhaps we can get just a little relief by the weekend.)

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

VBS ended with a bang last night, and I think all the kids had a great time. Nancy always volunteers the two of us for outdoor games, and it's been so hot that I'm glad it's over. That's terrible of me! LOL

When we got home last night, I jumped in the pool and just floated till 10pm. I was pretty wrinkled when I finally went in the house.

I have a work trip to Orlando next week, and everyone in my house is so busy, no one can go with me. That's such a shame!

The week after that, we're all going to the mountains. Yippee!

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday Eve! YAY!! We have a really dreary day going on outside! 100% chance of rain! As dry as it was here ~ why does all this rain have to come during festival week?? LOL! Last year they had to shut down the lower end of the festival b/c of rain on Friday, 3 years ago they completely canceled Friday b/c of rain & the rest of the weekend you needed boots! Crazy weather. It rained a couple times yesterday & when it rains, it's a major downpour!! I guess we'll see what the weekend brings! We'll have fun no matter what!

Due to the rain we had less people at the pre-fest party last night but we still had a nice time. A couple friends are in different clubs that had to help set up at the fest, which was all pushed back b/c of the rain. They were up there late. Another friend was stuck in a downpour at the fest - she was running to get out of it & tore her hamstring, so she ended up at the ER. Crazy night! We started the night with a big fan blowing on us to keep cool & ended the night with a heater going!

Just work for me today. Neighbors are supposed to have the next pre-fest party tonight but if it's raining, it's going to be at our house again under the tent. Hubby got a call that he has today off work again, so he's off until Tuesday! Lucky duck!! I needed to make a bigger honey do list!

Last bit of packing and tidying before we leave for a couple of weeks. Postings will be scarce but I may have time to quickly leave a message or two when I get to my sister's place. Wifi, woohoo! Going to take my plants in and give them a good drink because they won't be getting anything for a while.

Thank you SFM! I actually have tried the treats, the trainer recommended that when we were in obedience school. He’s such a scaredy cat when he’s outside. He’s content just going out in the yard. I would be fine with that but I want him to go for the walk and get the exercise. And I could use the exercise too!!!

Oh my gosh we’ve had that happen in our basement (we have a French drain down there) Its not fun when that water comes in. So glad your husband checked the pumps!

I was glad too. Not sure what made him look?? We have had water in a basement a couple times, hence the reason we have 2 sump pumps...but darn, neither one were working. What a mess that is! Hopefully we're good to go now! xx

Morning MMC! Been getting home later this week so I took Rollins out to the lake which is closer/shorter walk than the park. Happy Friday Eve!!
Work for me today and tonight my friend is having a graduation party for her son that is graduating from high school tomorrow. So we are going to that for a few hours. Tomorrow afternoon my oldest daughter and I are leaving for Charlotte, NC to go to my niece's graduation party. We are coming back on Monday. It will be fun to see them all! Hope you all have a great day!

I might still be able to. They are on "temporary hold" but it sounds like by the 2nd half of July and into August things will hopefully settle down. I need those long weekends in the summer!

Merry Wednesday!

What a long day! I'm really sleepy, too, as it has finally cooled down to where it feels comfortable. Hopefully, I'll sleep quite well tonight. It is the week I'm off melatonin, too, so the cool weather arrived at the right time.

It rained a decent amount today ~ so happy for that as there are huge brown patches in the lawn. It didn't raise the pond up any, but it didn't go down anymore, either, so that is good!

Good morning, MMC! I haven’t been sleeping very well lately. With the span of days I’ve had off and with it being hotter, my sleep schedule has just been off. I’m hoping since I work the weekend, I can catch up some.

Taking the kids and one of DD’s friends to the local amusement park, to do the water park today. This evening, DH, the kids, and I are meeting our close friends for an event from DH’s hometown - it is a wing fest, but based around a motorcycle week they have here. I’m looking forward to it!
