Christmas Countdown - 2018

View attachment 45401 Good evening, friends! Getting ready to head to work. We had a fun morning/afternoon. Here is what I painted. I’ll get it back in 10 days or so whenever it is put through the oven and dried!

That is so cute!

Well, we did it! We are now officially, 100% moved into our home. It was a tremendous project, one that I underestimated just how taxing it was on our bodies, minds and wallet. It took us a solid 5 days to get everything moved into our home. We had 4 movers, a 26 footer and a 17 footer moving vans on Friday, and we filled them both. Plus my truck and my wife’s car. Then, we made a few trips with just the truck and then I had to rent a trailer to get the big things here like my tractor and such.

But in the end, for the first time in 3 years, all of my processions are now under one roof along with my wife’s. It’s a really good feeling.

Rest, and slowly unpacking is now going to be the fun part. I’ll see now, after opening boxes, I will be saying, “oh there that is, I was looking for that!”

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Enthusiasts.

And as enthusiastic as we are over the pending weekend, we are even more pumped concerning our count and the proximity of our next marker.

First, the basics:
Days to the Season: 137
Days to Christmas Day: 179

Then, our next Milestone.
It's the TWO-THIRDS point to the Season and it's only 15 days ahead.
TWO WEEKS from tomorrow, Folks.
(The rolling year is rolling away from us!)

The heat and humidity are making a comeback day by day and the weather service now says we are in for 90 degree plus highs for at least the next two weeks.
Whew!
At this time, we show 77.7 degrees on our digital back door thermometer.

TGIF!! Our heat and humidity have definitely set in..not too many plans for the weekend except watching some Christmas movies. We may go to the beach and I am sure we will grill out. Hope you all have a great day!

View attachment 45394 Good morning! Taking the kids shortly here to paint pottery and out to lunch with a girlfriend and her daughter. I work tonight at 7, but then I’m off for four days.

The rain held off just long enough last night to get the game in and most of the fireworks. Nittany hasn’t been dealing well with rain, thunder or fireworks. We got her a thunder vest and with the storm that came through here last night, she did great! Here’s a pic of her.

There's a heat wave on the way this weekend, and it looks like the weather will be extra-hot right through July Fourth.

The dew point is in the 60s and the humidity is in the upper 80s, so I am staying inside as much as possible. If I keep the curtains closed and the windows shut, it doesn't usually get above 80 in the house and that is on the hottest and most humid of days, so hopefully the next three days will not be sweltering.

I’m glad Nittany did well with the thunder vest. I’m not sure how Rocky will do with all the fireworks that will be going off next week, we shall see. It will be his first Fourth of July!

My Ella was the same way. She got more nervous and timid as she got older. I thought if we were having this much trouble with Nittany at 2.5, we better figure it out now.

There were some firecrackers going off last night - Lucy didn't make anything of them, but they were in the distance. Gracie was scared sh**less of them & storms. She wasn't afraid of them until she was around 2 yo. Hopefully Lucy won't be afraid like Gracie was, but we still have her thunder shirt just incase!!! This is also Lucy's 1st 4th of July! I hope Rocky is not afraid of them & I hope Nittany does well with the thunder vest!

We were able to squeeze a nap in, it was nice!
Oh no I’m sorry Lucy is limping. I hope whatever is bothering her passes quickly. Please give her a hug for me!
My daughter and I ended up baking Soft Dutch Cocoa Cookies, they are sooo good!
No big plans on the Fourth, it will just be me, my hubby, the girls and their boyfriends and my two brothers and their families. I’m going to barbecue but keep it simple. Burgers, hot dogs, chicken & ribs and lots of homemade salads

Lucy is a piece of work! She was limping around all day yesterday ~ then we got to the lake & her friend Shay was there & they ran & ran & ran & ... around like wild women!!!! She was fine all night until Jim got home & she started limping again!!!! This morning she was limping a little but she let me mess with her paw, which she wouldn't do yesterday. She's a mystery!!!

Merry Friday MMC!
It’s going to be sunny and warm today with a high of 87 degrees. Not too much going on. I’m going to make a quick Target run. I need to stop at the butcher afterward. Other than that I’ll be working on the laundry. I already straightened up the house and vacuumed. I’m just having a quick cup of coffee before I head out. My oldest is coming over to visit after work. She’s going to stay for dinner, I’m going grill steaks. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!
