Happy 4th y’all! I hope you enjoyed it. I worked all day taking care of residents who’ve lost loved ones and leading a patriotic singalong and supporting coworkers during a stressful time. Job’s not an easy one, but it’s meaningful. I’m looking forward to two days off this weekend and can’t wait for tomorrow afternoon!! Enjoy your evening folks!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! I gotta tell you, there’s nothing better than watching Christmas movies on hallmark while fireworks are visible out the window.

Bless you and your kind heart; not an easy task to put your emotions aside to help others grieve.
Enjoy your time off.

Well, this festive lady from the North went to bed at 8:30 last night; I was exhausted and found myself dozing off on the recliner again. I wasn't feeling the greatest when I went to bed so I must remember to drink more water today so I don't dehydrate. I woke up at 2:00 a.m. with a horrible headache, likely from the fan blowing on my neck.
It's been quite hot - heat warnings since Tuesday - today we are expecting rain; although I see a lovely blue sky with a few white clouds - it could roll in around 11:00. Got to about 89-91 most of the week and this morning it is already 73. My eyes are puffy, don't know if it's pollen related or from sweating eyelids. HaHa

I set off to run an errand yesterday after work only to discover my car wasn't working. My keys didn't work. Had to access it the old fashioned way and realized my battery was dead. I was so impressed with my AAA call; within 45 minutes, I was driving my car like nothing happened. Didn't finish my errands just drove around for half an hour and then grabbed something to eat because it was too hot to cook.

It's Friday - YABBA!

We aren't expecting rain over the weekend so I am going to scatter some of my husbands remains up near the Falls on Saturday or Sunday.

Only one more week of work and then I'm on vacation for two weeks.

-smile-Stay jolly! -sun-

Good good morning. I took today off from work to get stiff done round the house. Taking a coffee break right now. Got a lot of clutter to go through and purge plus house cleaning. Need to go to the laundry mat later to wash our over sized comforter as it will not fit in my washer and dryer. Well back to cleaning .. hope everyone has a great day.

Good Post-Fourth Morning, Folks!

Did you enjoy the shows last night? I liked the parts with the traditional patriotic music and fireworks but have no interest in the rock concert aspects. They just don't say patriotism. Not to me, anyway.

But on we go with our count, smoothly and without interruption:
Days to the Season: 131
Days to Christmas Day: 173

SINGLE DIGITS, Guys. NINE days.
That's all that separates us from our next Milestone marker, the Two-Thirds Season point.
(Things are beginning to pass more quickly, don't you think?)

Another steamy one here again yesterday until a late day rain which cooled things off a bit but kept the humidity high.
Today will be in the mid to upper 80's with about a 40 percent chance of precipitation.
Our current temperature? Seventy-Five degrees under calm, sunny skies.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends!
Enjoy your Weekend Eve.

We put on our own show, as usual, but I agree---I like the good old-fashioned patriotic stuff.

When they televised Pops Goes the Fourth from Boston, they always had a patriotic sing-along for the crowd, and the camera roamed around showing people having a good time, wearing festive clothing and waving flags. I miss that. At the end, when they showed the fireworks, we turned down the sound and put on some Sousa marches instead. Gosh, I miss seeing the Pops on TV. All you can get now is the Capitol Fourth.

Yep. Bit by bit over the years, many Independence day celebrations have transitioned into rock concerts. I'm glad I grew up in a different time where it was all about the country and its founding, not about the latest pop star.

Thank you!

You're welcome, my friend!

Wonderful news.

:)

So glad to hear this M. I’ve been praying and will continue to do so.

Thank you so much, DYHWIH!

Thanks friend! It’s something that is a privilege but certainly takes a lot of emotional and physical energy. Happy to recharge tonight! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
