Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

I took mom to a doctor's appointment in Jacksonville yesterday (no problems there), and got a speeding ticket on the way. :( Yes, I was speeding, but not as fast as everyone else! I guess I was easier to catch because I was the slowest speeder LOL. I was on Interstate 95, and it was a city policeman. Some small town extended its limits across a mile of the interstate, and then patrols that mile to make money. I'll never agree with that.

Still, I was breaking the law so I'll pay my fine, but that money should go to the state, and not the City of Darien!

Anyway, I hope y'all have a great day LOL! :D

I used to post a Christmas.com anniversary piece here in the countdown each November 14. That's the earliest point I ever located using the wayback machine. I think 1997 was the year or maybe 1999?

The earliest member there I located that actually made the journey to MMC was Snowberry. Sadly, Snowberry passed away a couple of years ago.

Oh wow I remember Snowberry! Do you remember Granny? Has she been around lately?

Merry Saturday!

Woke way too early with a major coughing episode, so I am glad I am home this weekend. I promised my cousin I would wait with her at the hospital next week while her husband has hip surgery, so I want to get better before I go there.

It amazes me that it is already time to turn the clocks back an hour. Good timing in more ways than one! :)

Have a merry weekend, my friends!

Praying the surgery went well!

I'll have to dig around and see if Granny can be located.

Some are not active these days. And I'm sure I've missed a few.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!! We got the call last night that my cousin lost her battle with cancer yesterday and that my great uncle wasn’t handling his 2nd round of chemo very well. So it’s been a solemn kinda day here. I’m getting ready to kick back and enjoy the new hallmark movie though while doing some Christmas shopping online.

So sorry to hear this, Made. At least she isn't suffering anymore and isn't in anymore pain. Prayers for great-uncle, as he continues to go through his chemo. Prayers for your entire family, as you all continue to go through this rough time.

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy here with rain late in the day, the temperature will be 55 degrees. Much cooler temperatures expected tomorrow. It’s just a typical day of errands and chores for me. Dinner will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

One of my favourite meals. If I hurry, I might make it in time.

SPECIAL POST SCHEDULE:

Tomorrow (Day 5 before the Season) = e_xander
Nov. 09 (Day 4 before the Season) = Binger
Nov. 10 (Day 3 before the Season) = Brent
Nov. 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Christmaswarlock

Greetings everyone! Checking in after a LONG hiatus. Family stuff but all good! I don't even know what the special posts are, but I'm looking forward to it! Also I see that I forgot when "the season" starts. For some reason I thought it was November 1st!

Anyway, looking forward to TRYING HARD to be more active during the season and beyond.

Welcome back; you're in for a merry treat with the upcoming special posts as we draw closer to the "in season" time of the countdown on Nov. 13th.

Snowberry was a special lady who always ended her posts by thanking Jesus for one thing or another.

I have two of her novels.

Reminds me of the old joke ... motorist pulls over to the side of the road and rolls down his window. State trooper sternly says, "I pulled you over because you were speeding." The driver responds with, "I wasn't speeding officer, but I passed a few people who were."

I haven't seen much activity from granny since the shift over from ChristmasTalk in the summer of 2015.

I'll have to dig around and see if Granny can be located.

The following Easter weekend, we brought O'Malley into our lives.

I was feeling exhausted this morning and fighting sinus pain - the heat is on - so I switched my days out and took a vacation day today and will go to work tomorrow.

I just finished watching the Hallmark movie, Love You Like Christmas. The snow, lights, trees and decorations put me in a merry mood.

After my nap, I'm going to start prepping my Christmas cards. -list--reindeer--list--reindeer-

Good Monday morning! David had a follow-up with his surgeon and he is now ok to work 4 days per week, with more regular and light work added to his list. His doctor is saying that by January he should be back to full-time regular work, as his progress is right on track.

In between some house chores and laundry this morning, I’m watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. They’re playing on the W network here and I recorded a couple so far, with actors that I enjoy most. This really puts me in the Christmas mood.

Hope everyone will enjoy a great start to the week!

Great news to David!

I had a dream that I was seated beside MerryCarey playing the piano and I kept getting her refills of hot cocoa so her hands were busy and I could play alone. That was funny because I only know how to play pieces of three songs. At the Inn, I was hogging the whole piano and playing beautifully. As it turns out, it wasn't a dream; it was a magical event that took place at the Pines. I wonder if that was a magic piano with built in melodies.
I have to confess, I have some inside information on that ... there IS magic involved.

If you ever have the good fortune to visit the Magic Castle in L.A.,* there's a piano in one corner that's roped off and appears to play by itself. Actually, it's Invisible Irma. If you approach and compliment her, she'll respond on the piano. If you make a request, she can usually play it. And if you put a tip in her tip jar, she immediately plays "We're In the Money"!

Invisible Irma's twin, Irene, was looking for an easier gig a while back (she was playing in a bar on Long Island, last I heard), so I bet she got the nod from Carl to play at the 'Pines. (Did you feel like someone was right behind you when you played?) Be sure to put a few coins in the tip jar and request as many Christmas tunes as possible! And, Auntie, I'm sure she'll move over any time you want to play, or direct your fingers as she did last night.

P.S. Thanks for the lovely cocoa refills!

*It's a professional magicians' club; you have to be escorted by a member to get in. It's an amazing place.

Thanks RJD.
