What a great day. Everything took longer than it should have, but I got it all done, except for the "to do list" that remains in place for tomorrow.
I drove 80km to pick up my prize from a Christmas Show in a rural community that I went to two weekends ago. I have the Christmas bear in the bedroom on the dresser next to a small stereo.
The other prize is a Christmas scene craft activity that I'm giving my friends daughter for letting me watch the Santa Claus Parade from their balcony where I'm bound to get a good view.
Took me over 10 minutes to scrape the ice of my windshield and defrost the inside of the car. I didn't need the new snow tires in the city or the HWY; the snow stopped yesterday afternoon and the sun was up by the time I headed out. Once I turned off onto the country road, I could hear the crunch under my tires and it was a bit glare in places so I'm glad I opted for snow tires this winter.
As I drew closer to my turn off, I wished that I had a dash cam so I could share the beautiful winter scene I was expose to out there in farmland. It dipped down to -18 overnight so the snow was still clinging to the branches and the narrowing of the streets and the stillness of everything screamed CHRISTMAS WINTER SCENE. Not this year, but maybe Santa and the Easter Bunny will team up and get me one for my birthday in March.
I got my hair cut. That wasn't very exciting. I waited an hour because I didn't book an appointment.
Then I went to the Festival of Lights that I believe it was a fundraiser for our Hospice. I put a bid on a few items, including one fully decorated tree (with hotel discounts and other coupons on it, a fireplace display, a thin white tree with silver and antique white ornaments, and craft kit raffle draws. Already got a call about winning 2 or the 6 craft kits I chose that will keep the youngest granddaughters busy over the holidays.
Haven't heard about the big items; they said possibly the winners would be notified tomorrow. I don't want the trees here, I want them at work where I can see them when my head and eyes are doing well. I had a bit of headache when I left the museum from the lights, but it didn't fester into a migraine. Whew!
Came home to grab a bite to eat and feed the cat - his cupboard is well stocked now. After a late lunch, I headed back out to run three more errands. The first Christmas card of the season arrived in my box; that was exciting!
Going to relax tonight; watch a movie and prepare myself for any new ways O'Malley cat can think of charming me into giving him more treats than usual for no reason in particular.
It's so cute when he gets up on his hind legs, braces himself on the arm of my recliner and tries to gently pat my arm and "coo" like a dove instead of a feral cat. If I turn and look at him (and how can I resist), he winks or smacks his mouth like my grandkids used to do when they were babies looking for num-nums from their mom.
Keep a merry thought in your head!
"Merawl" from the cat; have a purrfect night!
