Christmas Countdown - 2019

Good Morning, People.
Time once again to drag ourselves out of bed, turn on the computer.....
........then wake up with shock at how far along our count is!

Today's jolt:
Days to the Season: 287
Days to Christmas Day: 329

Not fully awake, yet?
OK. Get a load of this:
We are now UNDER 2 weeks off from the end of the first QUARTER of the Season and the commencement of the second.
(Ah! NOW you're awake, right?)

Pretty pleasant here yesterday morning for January, but then it turned cold in the afternoon and rain began to fall. We are now below freezing and any remainig moisture will turn the roads slick. Fortunately, we are predicted to get into the 40's by this afternoon, so should be OK.
At this hour, we have lots of sun and show 27 degrees on our thermometer.

'Pines Day again. Yep. Right on schedule at mid-week. (Last one of January already!) Won't be long before Carl will be gearing up for Valentines day, and that should be a "sweet" open house, indeed.
(If Carl experiments with chocolate coffee, even I might give it a try!)

Well, it isn't often that I get a midweek checkin, but here I am. Supper is done, kids are bathed, and I sense an early bedtime coming!

The cold front here wasn't as advertised. We have been in the low 20's, but they thought we would get single digit weather. I'm glad we didn't...Low 20's sound tropical compared to what some of you are getting! Stay warm and safe!

Good Wednesday morning! My last of 6 straight work days, feeling exhausted but looking forward to getting through it so I can start my 11 days off. David will await a call today to get the details on how to prep for his surgery tomorrow. His physiotherapist mentionned that by next week he should already have an evaluation to start back his treatments, that fast. I'll be there to help him every step of the way.

I had a nice surprise at work yesterday, as my former boss, who had been on sick leave since last April, is back progressively and will start at my store to re-train. It was a pleasure to see him, he's such a great guy and it was hard to see him go through a burnout last year.

I took my mom to a doctor's appointment today, and just got back to work...in time to leave LOL.

I know lots of you folks are under snow, but while we didn't get snow, it WAS in the 20's this morning. Chilly!

Thank you everyone for your well-wishes regarding David’s surgery but he learned this afternoon that it has been postponed until Ferbuary 14th. He was not happy about it. I moved my vacation as well so I can be there for him. These things happen.

I'm so sorry to hear his surgery had to moved, but so glad to hear you're able to still have off with him.

Finally getting to check in. We've been on the go all day. The kids didn't have school today due to the frigid temps and won't either tomorrow. We've been working on cleaning and purging the house all day and plan on doing the same tomorrow. DH starts back to work tomorrow, for his regular 4 scheduled days, but I am still off, so I will still be home with the kids, but DS has to go see the doctor in the am, the we will be home for the rest of the day. Tomorrow is our eat out night, so that is our plan for dinner.

Happy Last Day of January MMC! It's 0 degrees with a wind chill of 20 below. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. But it won't last more than a day or 2 and then much milder weather is on it's way. It may get into the 50s next week. Early spring! Oh and getting ready for the Superbowl Sunday. Have a great Friday Eve Everyone!

It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 17, we’re currrently at 4 degrees. Typical day of errands and chores and I’ll be visiting my father as well. Dinner will be lasagna soup. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone keeps warm and has a good day!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

I didn't sleep much at all last night. I got to sleep around 11pm, then woke up at 3:45am. *yawn* Is it quitting time yet?

We have local scholarship awards today at Elizabeth's school. I'm not sure if we need to go, though. Historically, the children of the school teachers are the ones who receive those scholarships. I'm not sure how that works, but it has been the norm. Still, Elizabeth usually defies the odds, so I better go.

Yes, we are past the peak-of-the-week and headed downhill toward the weekend, with the next stop being Weekend Eve, tomorrow!

But as we speed by, don't let this pass your gaze without noting it:

Days to Christmas Day: 328

And be sure not to let this escape your vision, either:
The end of the first QUARTER of our Season count is now only 12 days away.
Nearly down to SINGLE DIGITS.
And then the SECOND quarter begins.
Wow! Talking about speeding along!

The arctic chill moderated this far south, but we are still waking up to 25 degrees here this morning.
We likely will not get out of the 30's all day but by the time the weekend arrives, we should be back to much warmer conditions.

Well, try to survive whatever weather situation you may be facing and have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks!

Happy Friday Eve! It is -1 but with windchill they said 25 below. My kids have a delay today and they are just getting ready to get on the bus. Not too much planned for tonight, catching up on laundry and either pizza for dinner or mac and cheese. I will let the kids decide..lol Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning ... Home today ..heater or thermostat is acting up and on the coldest day of the the year at that. Got a repair guy coming later today. Picked up a couple small christmas gifts over the past couple days, got them tucked away. I think I will spend the morning making banana bread, get a loaf of bread going on the bread maker and make a pot of broccoli and cheese soup for dinner. Hope everyone has a great day and is staying warm.
