Good Morning, Everybody!
So very, very close now to our premier Milestone marker of 2019.

Let's inspect the exciting details:
Days to the Season: 301
Days to Christmas Day: 343

Wow!
The 300-day Season Window. It will be here TOMORROW!
Then, the very next day, our Season count will begin with a 2.
(And that just seems "2" soon, Folks!)

Bit by bit. Day by day. We get just a little warmer for the high.
Today will see that gradual trend continue and we are predicted to reach the mid 50's, then 60 by Friday before we cool off again.
This center day of the week has commenced here at a chilly but sunny 30 degrees.

Is it 'Pines Day again, already?
Yep. And already the third one of the new year.
(That hardly seems possible, too!)
Anyway, Carl is ready as always at the front door. And owing to the chilly temperatures, he is offering a choice of iced or hot tea. (I just might take the latter this time!)
Hope to see you all there.

Meanwhile, you try your level best to have a Wonderful Wednesday, OK?
See you tonight....and YAY to the 2's being so close!!!!
-sing-!!!!!

I'll bring candy canes for stirring/sweetening the hot tea!

This reminds me of a brief dream I had last night! I was driving in the town I grew up in, and saw a white car with a red "MMC" on the doors, and a sign on the front grille that said "Happy 'Pines Day!" in green. I wanted to stop and talk with whoever was driving it, but wasn't able to. Crazy, eh?
Too funny! :)

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends!

I'm working today until noon, then taking off for my ortho appointment. I'm so ready to get my hand fixed!

Lulu and I ran to the vet clinic yesterday afternoon to get her prescription food, then I got my CRAZY-LONG hair cut. I was starting to look like a hippie, and it seemed to happen overnight LOL.

Nancy, Elizabeth and I are taking Jacob out to dinner tonight.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Hope you are enjoying dinner out!!!

Good morning all!

Well, a surprise ice day for the family today. Overnight some freezing drizzle developed and the temperatures have been slow to rise. The result was a two-hour delay and then a closing for my school and my wife's school! :D
-santa dance-

The snowy, cold, and icy pattern seems to continue.
Tomorrow will be interesting as some snow and ice is suppose to develop in the morning and continue through the day. Not sure how schools will deal with it because it may not start until the buses are out. However, it could get nasty before school releases.
Friday will be calm, BUT Saturday we are expected to get another substantial snow. Could be another 6-10 inches! Then turn really cold. Now that itself does not affect school. But the pattern of cold and snow continues into next week. Though it will change some, the current forecast for next Tuesday night is 1-3 inches of snow. Then 3-5 inches on Wednesday and another 3-5 inches Wednesday night! I love it and hope it all comes true! It is been so long since we have had a really snowy winter.

:snowball

I hope everyone enjoys their day!
Hope you enjoyed the day off & you all have a safe rest of the week. They keep changing our weekend forecast...several times per day! Grrrr. We went from 8-12" Sat. afternoon to 3-5 - that makes 3-5 seem like nothing. LOL!!!

Happy Wednesday all!

In the office today (about 3-4 hr commute from the house) lots of reports to generate and pour over, between that and the Christmas music I have playing in my earbud the day should fly by. Hope everyone is having a good hump day!

Safe travels!!!

Hey everyone! I've been away for a few days because my brother had to have an emergency surgery. Thankfully, he will be ok. I have been reading through the posts and have been impressed with the way people have been able to find some ways to save money already this year! So I started looking at some of our habits. I have this weird habit of recording what we ate for dinner every day. I draw out calendars every year (printing out calendars would be easier, but I enjoy drawing them. Weird!) and record what I made for dinner each day or record if we ordered out. I also challenge myself to make three new recipes each month. I started doing this 3 years ago partly because my husband was making comments that he felt we had the same things over and over and I wanted to prove him wrong (haha) and partly because I have started cooking more and wanted to see what worked and what didn't. Then it just became a habit. So, I just looked at all of the months from last year and made a list of all the times we went to a restaurant or ordered out. Ouch. Boy was that an eye opener. I am thankful I didn't record how much each meal out was! Let's just say that between our local Chinese takeout place and a local mom and pop restaurant that we love to order from I could have saved a TON of money. And that was just those two places, let alone all the other ones I had to list So, thanks to everyone for talking about trying to save money here because it forced me to realize I need to cook more and stay away from takeout so much! I am going to try and limit it to twice a month instead of the 4-5 times we were doing!

Prayers going up for your brother and continue for your dad!
Your calendar idea is a good one!
It is such a shock to figure out how much is spent over the course of a year on takeout. Two coffees/drinks a day plus a meal out added up quick so I got a vacuum seal travel mug and make my own coffee to go. I take along a protein granola bar and I'm good to go for several hours.

Merry Wednesday!

We had some freezing drizzle overnight and the schools in the area were closed or delayed several hours. Was supposed to go to the store today but stayed home. The sun is out right now, and the ice is melting off of the trucks here in the woods. The porch was very icy this morning and I used most of a bottle of pet safe ice melt so I could get out to feed the birds and take the trash out to the road. The future forecast is calling for cold temperatures, but so far, no mention of anymore precipitation. The good news is that power was not lost! Whatever the power company has been doing to rectify the situation out here must finally be working. Yay!!!!

I just had a bowl of tomato soup w/leftover Spanish rice in it for lunch/dinner. It was different tasting, but once I added some smoked black pepper and a bit of Parmesan, it was yummier.

Working on store tasks and catching up on a few chores the rest of the afternoon.

Be safe and merry!!
Now I'm hungry for tomato soup!! ;)
Hope you are having a wonderful evening M!
Merry Pines Day!

Just don't forget to treat yourself. My hubby always says...that's why we work! ;) It's a reason to go to work tomorrow - all the joys in this (too short) life while we will be here!

Thank you!
Your house pictures are beautiful! Very festive during the holidays! :)

You're welcome Meceka and thank you! I give DH great direction, but he can take all the credit for the actually directing for the outside. Now as far the inside, I usually do 99% off it.

Good morning ~
Just a quick hello. We’re heading out early for my daughters graduation ceremony. I have lots to do before we leave. I can’t believe my baby is graduating from college. Another milestone for my family. I will check back in here later today. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx
Congratulations to your daughter! Your daughters are celebrating such great moments this month, you have many reasons to be proud :)

I've already told DH, I am definitely going to have to watch going to DH now. I know I won't mind making coffee before I go to work, but I know people order out from work all the time and because working in an ER means no lunch or lunch quickly, they go grab something out f the vending machine, etc. Plus with me being 12 hours, it will be so easy to stop on the way home. I told him I know it's going to really stink that I won't be eating dinner with them much anymore, but throwing food in the crockpot or saving in the oven for me, is really going to help ensure money costs and that I don't just stop and eat on the way home. It will also help my waist line!

Merry Pines Day!

That does sound good. I have a later afternoon doctors appointment tomorrow. Maybe I'll see if DH wants that for lunch with a sandwich before we head out, instead of the typical "lets grab something on the way!"

But maybe not the Shispering Pines.
(Now there's an idea!)

You can always retreat to the Shivering Pines.
Today would be a good day for that - right my merry people?!!!

So nice of you to help out!! I hope they get something figured out to keep him home, safe & healthy. Are there any Amish in the area that will do caregiving? They were SUCH a blessing to us!!!!

Lol! I was joking with them that they needed to hire an “Emma” and make it a stipulation that she cooks for the neighbor too.

The daughters just want to throw him in a nursing home though and the son thinks they should put him back in the rehab place for a couple more weeks.
