Good morning, friends! Coffee time! @made582, you watching Daytona?

My ears can't handle the noise. I had a cousin who used to race with stock cars and another that raced with snowmobiles and bush buggies, but I only attended a few races for each 'cause it hurt my ears too much. I didn't know I had tinnitus back then, but high pitched and loud noises linger and the buzzing leads to migraines. The landing gear on planes wrecks the experience of flying.

A few friends from work are avid fans.

Happy President's Day MMC! It's a holiday for some but I am working. That's ok though because I did take off MLK this year. And I stayed home last Tuesday due to the weather conditions. And I have back to back 4 day breaks (Thursday-Sunday) in the 2nd half of March. With that said, I hope you all enjoy your day off (if you are) and everyone has a great President's Day Monday!

In Canada several provinces are celebrating Family Day
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New Brunswick the 3rd Monday in February
British Columbia celebrates the 2nd Monday in February
Manitoba is celebrating Louis Riel Day
PEI celebrates Islander Day
and Nova Scotia celebrates Heritage Day
The Northwest Territories do not have a STAT day; they use June 21st instead to mark National Aboriginal Day. (There is a push to celebrate this day across the country.)

These are provincial holidays not federal stat holidays so while many of us have the day off to celebrate with family; postal workers and other federal employees and EMS crews are working. Federal employees receive Easter Monday off, while many of us go to work.

This special stat day was created to have time to spend with family to raise spirits as there were no official days off with pay between New Year's Day and Good Friday.

Restaurants, radio personalities and others are working; grocery stores and liquor stores are closed.

There are usually special activities planned in many cities and towns to enjoy together as a family.

Saw those guys the last year of HS.

I had an unsettling dream about the cat trying to crawl into an overflow drain hole in the sink to escape my singing. Honestly, I'm not that bad.
The song I'm sharing was playing in my dream and I was singing along until I had to stop and rescue O'Malley before he got stuck in the drain pipe that kept expanding so he wouldn't get totally stuck and there was a miniature Christmas figure stuck that I had to get out too.

I really don't get my dreams sometimes - trying to let that one go; there ain't no logic behind it.

It did make me get up and check on him; O'Malley was waiting patiently in the hallway for someone to get up and tend to his food dish and give him a rub, but was totally quiet.

Glad that was only a dream...
:swayshould have recognized it as such sooner; one would think.

My chicken corn chowder turned out great; best I ever made. Better than any I've had in a restaurant.

Stay Merry! :ornarment

Morning MMC! President's Week Day 2. Kids are off this week so traffic is less. Looks like we have a decent winter day ahead. Took Rollins to the park after work last night. It's light enough to do it now. We try to get there 7 days a week from Valentine's till Thanksgiving as much as possible. Have a great day!

Good Morning, Sensational Single-Digit Seekers!

Well, the seek is over for marker number three.
It is now just 9 days up ahead.
Details pending.

Let's look at today's data release:
Days to the Season: 267
Days to Christmas Day: 309

And that marker number three, that's only nine days off?
Well, it's the THREE-HUNDRED DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW!
Then, we commence a double 200's count sequence.
(Exciting times!)

We got a bit warmer yesterday, topping out at 63 degrees. Pretty good indeed for February!
Today will be much cooler with highs in the mid 40's and low 40's predicted for tomorrow before we warm up again Thursday.
This second day of the work week has started off sunny, at 37 degrees here in our part of MMC.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Everybody!

Thanks Crown! Hope your President's Week is going ok!

Merry Tuesday!
Just went for a walk with Rocky and it’s pretty chilly out there. I’m going to head back out in a little to do some food shopping. I’m going to visit my parents this afternoon. Other than that I’ll be working my daily chores. Dinner will be tacos. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

I am off today. After taking Carolina to school I will help my mom around the house. She finally had an mri done yesterday for her knee. PT has moved her onto a cane instead of a walker. She is more sure using the cane. She wont know results until the 28th when she sees the ortho

Morning MMC! A little sleepy this morning. We have some snow coming this afternoon. Not a lot but maybe 1-3 inches and it should mix with some rain tonight and then be warm tomorrow so it will probably wash away. Been the first winter in 7 years with below average snowfall in my area. Have a great Mid-Week!

Merry Pines Day MMC ~
We have the same forecast as Edge here on the island, a few inches of snow that will turn over to rain. Just a typical day for me of errands and chores. I just started a pot of sauce, dinner will be spaghetti & meatballs. There is a hockey game later tonight so we’ll be watching that. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!
xx

Happy Hump Day!! We are like Edge and HMG and expecting a few inches of snow. We'll see..I am just enjoying my coffee and going through emails. My daughter is supposed to have basketball practice but I thinking that may get canceled due to the weather. Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning, Season Stalkers!

And as we stalk, we look for clues along the way. Indicators as to just how far off our quarry is. The next one will be revealed after the latest numbers are released and digested:
Days to the Season: 266
Days to Christmas Day: 308

And our next Milestone "indicator"?
Well, of course by now you must be aware that it is the 300-Day Christmas Day Window, currently lurking a mere 8 days ahead.
ONE WEEK from tomorrow, Guys!

Mother Nature spoke yesterday and her message was clear: "Do not make the mistake of thinking that winter is over!"
Our high was in the mid-40's with a cloud cover. Today our high is predicted at 42 before a nice warm-up commences tomorrow.
Our current reading is 35 degrees here after an overnight rain.

Come one, come all to the 'Pines this evening for yet another of Carl's mid-week open houses.
As always, after a holiday open house, the 'Pines is overstocked on holiday-themed fired twinkies. In this case, great deals can be had on left-over red and white frosted ones from Valentine's day.
The entertainment will still retain a winter theme but our friendly activities director has exciting plans for the upcoming spring!
See you all there.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!
