TGIF, Christmas friends!

I just got back from "Old Fashioned Day" at school. Every year, the seniors and the 3rd grade go to a local farm for ice cream churning, hay rides and square dancing, then a picnic. The seniors square dance with the children, and everyone is dressed in overalls and straw hats. It's lots of fun, but I realized I just returned from my last time. I've been with Jacob in the 3rd grade and as a senior, then Elizabeth in the 3rd grade, and now as a senior. I try not to think about stuff like that.

Our nephew in the 3rd grade was there, so I took lots of pictures of him. I was surrounded by moms and dads taking pictures, too. Nancy and I joked that they probably thought I was a grandfather, with all this gray hair LOL!

Jacob is in a concert with the University Singers tonight.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Sounds like so much fun.

Hold on - you can go again when your nephew is a Senior - still one more chance in the future.

It's a special time for DS; if I stretch my mind far enough, I can remember mine. After the gathering at the Church, a few relatives joined us at our place for fancy coloured bread finger sandwiches and dessert squares.

Fast forward to my Confirmation and my God-Mother who was my aunt and father's sister (was a lead vocal in the choir for many years) struck up a conversation with the Bishop who was in attendance.

Have fun with your sister.

Thanks, Auntie! We'll be going out for lunch afterwards and I ordered a cake as well. It will be nice and I know he's looking forward to our family attending.

I had a nice day with my sister - thanks!

Today was a good day. First day since I returned to work; that I felt happy most of the day. And after I dropped off the stool samples, my symptoms pretty much disappeared. Weird. Wacky.

Glad to hear all this - continued prayers!

;) May the 4th be with you! o_O

Saturday - blue sky, birds chirping (a few squawking); going for a walk later with a friend from work and maybe out for lunch; her boys and her husband are at his parents place in the country for the weekend.

We were supposed to go see DUMBO today, but it left the theater before we got the chance to see it. Boo hoo! :(

Today is Kentucky Derby Day.

One of these days, I'm going to see it live.

Have a great day! +h

Happy 1st Weekend of May MMC! We made it to another weekend somehow. We have cloudy skies this morning but at least it's not raining. Looks like we might see some breaks of sun at least. That's better than it's been. I hate rainy weekends. 2 weeks from today is the 4th of July. Think about that. When that comes I start counting down to the Bers and start looking out for Halloween items that start to slowly pop up (and of course CIJ). Crazy to think that those thoughts aren't terribly far away already. Have a great Saturday!

Good Morning, Weekenders!

Rise, shine, munch on that fired twinkie, sip that iced tea, and marvel over the progress we have made toward our Season of choice.

First, the numbers:
Days to the Season: 193
Days to Christmas Day: 235

Then, sit back and enjoy the news that the HALF-WAY Milestone to the Season is now just ELEVEN days hence.
SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow.
Holy Holly!!

The warm, yet comfortable weather persists and will do so for today as well.
Slightly cooler for tomorrow with rain in the forecast, which should start tonight.
Our current reading is 70 degrees under cloudy skies to begin day I of our weekend, here.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody!

Good morning all! As far as today goes, we have some fun things planned. I know DH wants to get the porch and deck furniture out and maybe go purchase some flowers as well. We plan on watching the Kentucky Derby here later on and making some dips and snacks, playing board games, and then turning on the NHL game tonight as well. Should be a great day! Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Hello all!
The school year is heading to its close. Only 3 weeks to go! The ridiculous state testing is now over.

It is a little cooler today than the last few, but the big news is that it is not raining! We have had rain nearly everyday for the past week. Though it is cloudy today it is not suppose to rain. Tomorrow might even be sunny!

Today is Little League Football sign-ups, so I will go stand at a little booth at the baseball fields for a few hours and get some kids signed-up.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I almost changed the channel lol, that was a rough round to watch.
But I am already looking forward to October!

I know what you mean - it was the same way for me in round 1! I told DH, the Canes for sure were the underdogs in all this and are hungry and want the cup bad. I can see them winning and honestly, I hope they do. I always hope for a Metro team to do so. Good luck to them, but as you said, I can't wait until October as well! As that being said, DH and I love baseball as well, but the Pirates just are terrible! LOL. Bring on Penn State football!

Thanks Crown! Happy 1st Weekend of May!

Did anybody catch the Kentucky Derby? Swoosh! Crazy outcome.
145th derby winner was disqualified and the long-shot took the win due to a block/bump on the course. Country House declared the winner.

I feel bad now because everyone will be talking about it at the Preakness and although I thought Maximum Security would have won anyway - it's not based on my opinion. So, I turn to feeling bad for the owner and jockey who will be talked about in negative ways for the next leg of the triple crown race. 'Cause I root for the underdog. Someone has to.

I did some shopping for my grandson and his soon to be bride today. It seems like only ten years ago we building flip track roads together and now he's the Chief at his Firehall and getting married.

Enjoy the rest of your night.
