Good Morning, Weekenders!
Ready for some well-deserved R&R the next couple of days?
OK, great!
But before you get started, there is a bit of unfinished business to take care of. It involves today's numbers.

Days to the Season: 165
Days to Christmas Day: 207

More data: As of TODAY, we are exactly, ONE WEEK away from the 200-Day Christmas Day Milestone marker.
(OK. Business complete. Go enjoy yourselves!)

Well, we have crested the hill heat wise and have begun our descent into somewhat cooler weather. Yesterday was 7 degrees cooler than was Thursday and today will see us drop another 8 degrees into the low 80's.
A late day rain yesterday helped alleviate some of the dryness.
Our beginning temperature this weekend is 66 degrees, here.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everyone!
Thanks Crown! Happy June!

I'm so glad you are starting to physically feel better, but I can't imagine what you are emotionally going through. You've been through so much. Are fur babies are our family and O'Malley, I know is your big piece of Gary. I will continue to think of you and please know, if you need ANYTHING at all, I'm always here, we're all always here. You my friend, are such a motivation! (((hugs))) to you! <3

That's so sweet; thank you.

The company that loaned the bed rail and commode came and collected it today. It startled O'Malley, but I reassured him, it was okay. He does't like noise and pulling the strap out from under the mattress and carrying it down the hall caused clanging noises so he hid behind my big recliner since he couldn't make it to the spare room.

He's been really quiet since I got home; if his constant meowing subsides and we get through this Public Health business; we'll be okay.

If it turns out that O'Malley needs a mandatory VET visit and it results in medication of any kind, I will have to consider the ultimate act of love because he's too old and too feral to start taking shots or medicine.

I'm hoping everything turns out purrfect for us.

Good morning all!

June 1st... that means Christmas in July in right around the corner.
-sun-

Today is the Strawberry Festival in the town I live in. Lots of crafts, food, and festival stuff. Strawberry flavored everything! Most specifically the Troy HS band makes Strawberry donuts as a fundraiser. They are really good and makes the band a lot of money. But, do you wanna know a secret? The donuts are not actually strawberry flavored... they use cherry flavoring!
If I suddenly disappear, it is because they found out I told you all the secret. ;)

Anyway, my wife is working at the festival this morning and then we are going to enjoy the festivities. The weather looks ok for today, humid and a chance of storms this afternoon. It is suppose to be scattered so hopefully it will miss us.

Everyone have a great Saturday!

I told my dad that I wanted to be home by the 24th of July when we do our travelling so I don't miss celebrating Christmas in July here.

Might even volunteer to run the Christmas Carousel down at the waterfront for a few hours on the 25th.

Wow - so sweet of him. Not every provider would do that, that's for sure!

And he's not my doctor. I have to go back tomorrow for my last round of antibiotics and by then they'll have the swab results back that will help determine the specific type of bacteria we're dealing with so they can switch my oral prescription if need be.

I will have an ER doctor tomorrow; not the same one, but swelling is going down and my pain is about a 2 now.

Good morning all and Happy Saturday! Not much planned for this morning. I have wash to do, but other than that, no other plans. DH will be working until 5. This evening we plan on having a fire.

Just a booked a beach trip for 4 days, which was very last minute! It isn't very long, but it will get us a way for a few days, since we aren't taking our big family vacation until September this year. We're going June 11th. We're taking my parents too. They've done so much for our family while I haven't been able to drive and was sick, that DH and I want to do something for them, so we surprised them and told them they're going to the beach with us. There were a few tears shed and they of course said no, they weren't accepting, unless they paid their way, but finally accepted generously and are so excited to be going. I'm so thankful to have my parents in my life and in my kids life! I can't wait to go and spend the time with them. It will be so nice! We were hoping to take the dogs with us, but with it being so last minute, so many places have restrictions and DH's parents are going to be away that week too. Looks like we will have to kennel them, but luckily, we stay with are breeder, and they stay right in her house, which is great and they get stay with their mom and dad pups, so it's like a family reunion when they go there.

Hope you all have a great Saturday! I'll talk to you all later on!

Sounds like a great escape and a thoughtful gesture; your parents are sure to enjoy!

You're very welcome! I know when it comes to O'Malley, you'll make the best judgement possible, even though I know it will be extremely hard on you. You continue to be in my constant prayers, friend!

Good evening, friends! Thought I'd stop by quick and say hello. Our best friends are coming over in a little bit for some fellowship and to have a campfire. We'll cook out later as well. We always have a nice time. Our daughters are the same age and became best friends, so naturally we did too.

Hope you're all enjoying the day! It's beautiful here!

Another day of sunshine, but the rain is coming this afternoon.

Had a rough sleep last night, but still feel rested as I was quite tired and went to bed at 8:30 and got out of bed at 5:00 - kind of pulled a Crown there - haha.

My brother is very excited to see me next weekend at the Celebration. I made sure to order a sushi platter and a few other things so he can eat his vegetarian style food - he does fish because it doesn't have a brain stem and provides good protein.

My other brother will join me for the second celebration of life on June 22nd. Probably good they won't be together the oldest has some fame envy issues of the other.

I swept up lots of cat hair off the carpet and swept my floors - maybe I can manage a mop job and vacuum before I elevate my leg when I get back from the hospital.

I had a Christmas moment yesterday when I saw a friend's son with a strand of tinsel he found attached to a toy that he hadn't played with since Christmas. It kept sticking to his arm. Static toddler.

Another friend's daughter chose her Santa had to wear for wacky hat day at school on Friday.

Plus the Pine, Fir and Spruce trees in the area were causing my eyes to become very itchy so I took a look at my Christmas tote and discovered I have several small ornaments already bought for this year.

Keep a merry thought in your head :blinky:

Happy June Weekend MMC! We had a nice day here Saturday. Today we should see a better chance for thunderstorms. Monday/Tuesday look beautiful but cool for June! And then the warmer/humid weather arrives for the 2nd half of the week. Now that I got the weather forecast out of the way we'll be going to my Uncle's for our monthly evening there. Have a great June Weekend!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy today with temperatures in the low 70’s. Afternoon showers & storms are expected. I don’t have too much planned for today. We celebrated my fathers 79th birthday yesterday. I’ve been running around the past couple of days to prepare for the party so I plan on taking it easy today. I just fried meatballs and have a pot of sauce simmering, I’m making raviolis for dinner. Other than that I’ll be working on the laundry. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Good Morning, Hosts!

<< "Hosts", Crown? >>
Oh, indeed.
We host the spirit of Christmas and its glorious Season here year round, never letting the flame grow too low or (heaven forbid!) flicker out.
It's an important job to host that flame. And everyone here does it with care and style!

The latest:
Days to the Season: 164
Days to Christmas Day: 206

And as far as Milestones are concerned, the next one is now UNDER A WEEK AWAY!
We speak, of course, about the 200-Day Christmas Day Window and the fact that after we reach that point, BOTH of our count numbers will commence with a "1"!
(What fun we will have in the coming days!)

Over the course of just two days, our weather has gone from unpleasant to sublime.
Moderate temps were the order of the day yesterday, with lowered humidity and no rain. Even the mosquitos cooperated!
Today will see us move back into the upper 80's before we drop about 8 degrees again to start next week.
Our present back yard reading is 68 degrees to begin part II of our weekend.

Have a Super Sunday, Folks!

Sorry to hear about your leg but glad you are on the med. Praying for a faster recovery for you.

Good morning MMC...I am asking for some prayers today..my dad passed away yesterday in his sleep. He had liver cancer and received treatment and was doing quite well. But he also has liver disease, his liver started failing along with his kidneys. He was in and out of the hospital a few times and I made an appointment for a hospice consult but he passed before I needed to. We are having his services next Saturday. My brother and his family will come up from NC on Friday.
I am doing ok and relieved he went peacefully. Hope you all have a great day. Hard to believe we are into June.

So sorry to hear. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
