Good Saturday evening! What a perfect Summer day to start off my 9-day staycation. I put some laundry out to dry this morning, we went to our favourite chocolaterie for some treats, I took an afternoon nap, we took Loki out to a new dog park where he ran after his favourite orange ball until he had no energy left and now we're about to watch a movie. Hope everyone has enjoyed this milestone day.

Sounds like you celebrated this Milestone Day well!!

Also an update on the tablecloth for my grandmother - I dug it out last night to make a start on it - only to find I have lost the chart! Luckily I have finished one daffodil so can copy the colours from that but with the leaves I think I will just have to wing it and hope for the best!

I also found a little cross stitch christmas card that my daughter wants to try and make for my grandmother too so that will keep her happy for a while too.

That’s great Skippy!! Happy Milestone Day!!!!

In honour of our special milestone today; I am offering one of my old songs.

(For the newbies, I get hit with different words that are Christmas related when I hear songs that aren't very merry. I usually switch the lyrics in the shower and then play with them until they make sense to me.)

Written by AuntieMistletoeDear (that's me) Based on the tune, ‘The Little White Cloud that Cried‘, by Johnnie Ray (performed once upon a time by Jamie Redfern)

I went searching for a merry feeling
I headed into the downtown core
Cedar boughs, lights and bows adorned the shops
Sale signs in every window and on every door

I went searching for a merry feeling
Spotted a couple huddled in a doorway, less fortunate than I
Carollers standing on every other corner
Heard Church Bells resonating across the sky

I went searching for a merry feeling
Headed out onto a country road
I came upon a living Nativity
The wise farmer approached, carrying a heavy load

The stranger understood what I was seeking
And this is what I was told,
“If you are searching for a merry feeling
You will search until your body turns cold.
I’m sure you know joy is something from within
Filled with the traditions and celebrations you hold dear
If it vanishes from your city
It’s up to you to keep it near.”

I went home feeling rather silly
For having doubted what I knew all along
The merry feeling we all hold deep inside
Pumps through me with a fresh new song.

I woke up from my daydream in the shower
Knowing I had to share with all my friends
The secret to keeping very merry at Christmas
Is sharing memories; I hope it never ends.

Festive Regards my Merry Friends,
A. Mistletoe

And in case you are struggling with the tune to go with the lyrics; here's a link to the actual song "The Little White Cloud that Cried."

And Dinah Shore

Keep a merry tune in your head today and every day! -sing-

This is so wonderful. Thanks for sharing!! You are so creative!!

Happy 2nd Weekend of June MMC! Wow I feel A LOT better. I guess all I needed was to go home half a day and rest. The sun is out again. That's how the last 5 or 6 Saturdays have been. That's how I like my Saturdays. Have a great start to the 2nd Weekend of June!

So glad you’re feeling better!!! Keep it up!! Happy Milestone Day!

Good morning and Happy Milestone Day! Got a busy day today, got to finish the house cleaning, go grocery shopping and attend a graduation party. I am going to try to bake cookies later tonight considering it is a milestone day LOL. Hope everyone has a great day.

Mmmmm Cookies! How festive!!! Hope you had a great Milestone Day!!

Morning from a blue skied South Wales. I highly doubt it will stay that way but its nice to have a little sunshine at least.

Happy Milestone Day All

Well we finally got the new TV box so have TV and normality resumed in the house. I have half completed the second flower on the tablecloth. There is 12 in total so I still have a way to go but slowly making progress at least.

Son asked yesterday for a mountain bike for Christmas so thats his main gift idea ready.

Currently looking up a tablet recipe to make my husband for fathers day. His 40th birthday is 4 days after so he is going to be well spoilt.

Wow I feel A LOT better. I guess all I needed was to go home half a day and rest.

Glad you are feeling better Edge!

Hopefully, it will not interfere with our plans today and tomorrow morning as we complete work to get our cottage ready for the first set of renters who arrive tomorrow at noon.

Hope your preparations at the cottage went well CRown - Where is your cottage?

Hope you all have a lovely day MMCers!

Good Merry Morning,

Well, I pulled it off! My husband would have been so pleased with how the evening of Celebration turned out. There were four different table themes including the red check style (repeated twice), lemon drops, Tiki Time, Fruits of Summer (at the food table), gold (x2) & white (x2) - on the table were games and fidget toys, gum, Kleenex with messages, some had a centerpiece. The Memorial table turned out great.

We never got through a quarter of the music I brought that was playing in the background while people were conversing with each other and some sharing stories at the table and others just catching up.

While people were eating, I played the special birthday video that #1 son made for his 70th birthday as a tribute had a few people in tears and others just enjoyed watching him grow up and become a father and grandfather.

The food - I kept worrying that I wouldn't have enough; there was so much variety to satisfy every appetite and the desserts were also in abundance, plus there was a candy table with grab bags to fill and I brought plastic trays and some people filled them with leftovers.
I have several trays unused that I will drop off at the Crisis Centre this morning.

There were roughly 50 of the 60 people I expected who turned out and I shared a story about his life and two of them were Christmas related. Holding an adorable shelf sitting Elf playing a trumpet helped me feel like my merry family was present in spirit and it gave me strength and comfort to get through it with only a mild moment at the beginning when for a moment as I mentioned Gary's name and thanking people for joining us that I got a bit choked up and then set sail for some shared sentiment and laughter.

A few other stories were shared by others that gathered and the biggest surprise of all was to learn that a co-worker of mine had an older Aunt (who passed away) who was married to my husband's brother so we're actually related.

The next one is in two weeks and it will be a bit more intimate with family members and a true back yard BBQ style family picnic.

I think the toughest part for me is going to happen this morning when #1 son comes to take his car home with him. That will be a significant moment

because it truly means he is gone and not requiring the car anymore; plus it was my first set of wheels. At least I get to visit it whenever I want.

Off to a PowWow at Noon and then just relax for the late afternoon and evening with the cat (may have to do some work from home for a bit) and going to make lasagna for dinner and a few lunches during the week.

+m Keep a merry thought in your head! -surprise-

Happy 2nd Sunday of June MMC!
I am filling in for Crown this fine Sunday morning. Our area has another beautiful day in store for us. We're lucky. It's going to rain Monday into Tuesday so our timing was perfect to have nice weekend weather. Now let's take a look at the stats coming off that HUGE milestone yesterday.

Days to the Season: 157
Days to Christmas Day: 199

Ladies and Gents, it's my honor to be the first to announce that we will not see anything higher than a "1s" in either of our counts until after Christmas 2019! Look at double 1s now. I'll save the next milestone for Crown to discuss upon his return on Monday.

Have a Super Sunday "1s" fans!

Good Morning, Christmas Citizens!

And as good informed citizens, we want to be kept abreast of the latest data in regards to the proximity of our holiday of choice and its wonderful Season.

As such, it is with pride and humility that we announce that another MILESTONE DAY has been reached!

Days to the Season: 158
Days to Christmas Day: 200

Today. This very day. We have arrived at the TWO-HUNDRED DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW, and the doorstep of a double-100's count.
Hallelujah!

Wet weather is the order of the day and for the next several, as plenty of rain is forecast. Hopefully, it will not interfere with our plans today and tomorrow morning as we complete work to get our cottage ready for the first set of renters who arrive tomorrow at noon. Fortunately, there is a lesser predicted chance of rain over at the coast but it still looks rather wet.
This morning has indeed commenced very wet here in the state capital, with a temperature reading of 71 degrees.

Tomorrow morning, our Edge will see us safely into double-100's territory and I shall return here Monday morning.

Have a Sensational Saturday and a Wildly Wondrous Weekend, Friends!

How exciting! Happy 200!
