O'Malley and Carl had a great time performing on stage for the merry crowd at the Shispering Pines.

The camel coffee house was packed and Carl started off by reciting two poems which O'Malley attempted to act out with support of a few forum friends.

Carl's poem was featured during a visit to the Shispering Pines in the countdown thread many upon many moons ago and rests in the thread of the history of Carl for newcomers to read and get a sense of how he became part of our merry lives over the last 14 years (or so).

Ode of a Camel

The obvious plan
To frolic wherever I can.
To dream and to be
To dance ‘cause I’m free,
To travel around
Where caffeine is found
To socialize with friends
Where the fun never ends
That is the obvious plan.

There is a little rebel inside Carl, but if he gets you into a jam, he’ll likely have the know-how to get you out of it.

Carl loves Christmas. It’s likely because of his encounter with Santa all those years ago.

The Pines Camel

There once was a Camel who had three humps
Who learned how to play cards and do funky jumps
Who traveled the world afar
Got a traffic violation when driving a car

By sweat and much molting
He makes coffee blends that are rather jolting
He’s working’ at the Shispering Pines
Where the Playhouse Opera sends shivers up our spines
While Binger works on operas & sipping blends
Others wandered in and created plaid trends.

New poem shared by O'Malley the cat via the cat whisperer...

By the sweat of his brow,
Carl's a famous camel now
He has new fans
and Opera and java plans

His feral friend has joined the crowd
The cheers, chatter and music are loud
If you don't like noise
Stay home and play with your toys

Come to the Pines on hump day

Stay in the lodge and sleep away
If you've tried his java blends
Yule stay awake and the fun never ends.

What a great night! Glad I tried the summer blend so I didn't go to bed too early and miss all the fun.

A cat and a camel ... a combination that can't be beat! Looking forward to more from that team!

Merry Thursday!
It’s going to be a sunny day with temperatures in the upper 80’s! I don’t have too much planned. I want to run out to buy more flowers for the yard. I’ll plant them this afternoon and probably just hang out by the pool. I’ll be working on my daily chores as well and I also plan on grilling chicken and ribs for dinner. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Love it!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

I've been in Washington DC all week for work, and I'm really looking forward to the flight home tomorrow. I've been eating fancy and golfing all week, but I'm missing my family.

And I missed LEON Day here!! I'm sure it was a good one!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Good morning all!

The heat has turned up here in Ohio, but the good news is that the rain has really slacked off.

No big plans today. This evening my wife's brother is flying in from California for a job interview tomorrow. So, we will see him late this evening. He currently works for Branson designing spacecraft which is really cool, but was head-hunted for a job here in Ohio for an airplane company.

No big plans this weekend or anything. Maybe do some fishing with Henry. We have been wanting to go but the weather has been uncooperative.

Well, everyone have a great day!

Oh, yeah. Carl and O'Malley were in rare form!

Good afternoon ... I feel like the closer we get to the holidays the faster the days are going by. I just hope father time puts on the brakes once the BERS hit.

We are in the middle of our first heat wave of the summer and I am already over this heat. Even with the central AC on, it's taking me long to get moving cause the heat has me feeling like blah. I am so NOT a summer girl, that is for sure. The bright side is all the CIJ that is around the corner .. especially on QVC and the Hallmark channels!!!! Hope everyone has a great day!

How come I'm hearing the the Coroner from the Wizard of Oz in my head from your opening revelation?

Well, the season is sliding by at rapid speed and I don't mind being a half-wayer tonight 'cause tomorrow we coast down the other side of the merry slope.

I never know what to wear at the Pines ... maybe I'll find something new at the shop.

C'mon, O'Malley cat; let's get a move on - the gang is waiting!!!

Stay Jolly! +j

If you don't know what to wear to the Pines, by now, what hope do the rest of us have?

Good to hear you held up, so well, to the road trip ardors...***WHEW*** :)

Good Morning, Second Halfers.

Yes, Folks. In case you missed it yesterday, we crested the summit of our Christmas Day count and have now started coasting on the downhill grade.

But passing a Milestone marker, no matter how major, just means that we have a new one to contend with.
We will get to the introduction of that next goal after we look at today's numbers.

Days to the Season: 139
Days to Christmas Day: 181

OK, now.
Let's get down to brass tacks. We have important business to attend to that's more than a little scary. It concerns our next Milestone, and we had best get ready for a shock.
As of July 14, just 17 days from today, we will be at the 2/3 marker to Christmas Season 2019.
Just let that sink in for a moment. TWO of the three thirds will be passed with only ONE remaining!
(Scary stuff!!)

Fairly humid yesterday until evening when it moderated quite a bit and came pretty close to being confortable. It was a sunny day with no rain.
Today we are supposed to hit 94 for the afternoon high, so we can only hope that the humidity does not return!
Currently, we record 73 degrees, here.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone.
And may visions of Weekend Eve dance in your heads!
Thanks Crown! Happy End of School Year!

I say yes! Good heavens, July Fourth isn't until next week ... school's been out less than a month. Let the poor kids enjoy some freedom before the back-to-school displays go up.

I'd say yes that's true but school starts back here in the south towards the end of July first few days of Aug
