Good Morning, Weekenders.
It's oasis time again here at MMC. Got any plans?

Well, regardless of how extensive your schedule is today, there's always time to pause and check out the latest from the count files.

Days to the Season: 137
Days to Christmas Day: 179

Closing in now on just TWO weeks to go to the TWO-THIRDS Season Milestone. Only 15 days remain.
(These markers are falling like dominoes, Folks!)

Another hot and humid one yesterday (high of 97).
A slight drop to 94 is predicted for today, then back up to 96 tomorrow.
The chance of rain is very slight both days.
We begin day 1 of our weekend here at 73 degrees. It's calm with lots of sun.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Guys!
Enjoy your Weekend.

HoHoHello, Y'all! -surprise-

Bought myself an early Christmas in July surprise (so not really a surprise for me) and I got a similar item for a friend; both of us have lost loved ones and I wanted to have something extra special and a bit Christmassy to cherish.

I got myself a Willows figurine holding a heart to always remember the love shared with my soul mate who is no longer with me in the physical sense.

For my friend, Jackie, I picked up a Willows Tapestry figurine to cherish a few special people she lost this year. Her sister-in-law and her mother-in-law.

I have several friends in the teaching profession who are off for the summer and although I am somewhat envious of their freedom, I love my job and I have 50 days of vacation coming to me this year (already took 12 here and there) so I am not complaining. Usually I only have 30 days, but if you recall they made a mistake when they switched our fiscal year and had to give me days back that were due from two months over each of the three years. Lovely hiccup in the system.

I'm hoping to get a hold of Ticketmaster to upgrade my tickets to V.I.P. 'cause why not go the distance. Just waiting for the ticket office to open. The FAQ indicates I can't change my tickets because they were RESALE, but I should be able to upgrade to the backstage tour and whatever goes with it. If there is no meet and greet or autographed photo or something along those lines, I won't worry about it, but it would be nice to see Elton up close and thank him for sharing his great talent with my eyes and ears over the years.

Off to Walmart soon to pick up some storage totes to organize the walk in closet and my Christmas cupboard - currently I have Christmas stuff and new clothes pretty much everywhere you look so it's time to put a bag of clothes together for the Salvation Army Thrift Store and tidy up.

It's supposed to rain off and on today so this is a good day to get it done.

Tomorrow the sun will be out so I won't want to be trapped indoors.

Monday, I'll visit my dad - don't think he'll be golfing.

Making Shepherds Pie for Dinner tonight.

I had a dream that my brake didn't work and I was trying to pick up two merry chums on the side of the road. I slid into a back yard draped in snow and said, "NO! Don't sink; I can't sink!" Suddenly my car hovered over the snow instead of sinking into it and I was able to reverse, but then I couldn't find my merry chums. I feel like I let them down.

Next summer, I'm going to play travelling Elf and visit a few merry chums. I know it's early to be thinking about it, but I want to plan things early enough and add dates to my calendar so I remember to book those times off from work and stick to it.

Isn't it great to be addicted to Christmas? :rubhead

Just saw my first Christmas TV commercial of the year....... Well Christmas in july but still Christmas. It was for 5 below stores and had Elves talking about Christmas in july

Merry Saturday!
My daughter’s softball team won their game last night so they are onto the championship on Tuesday night. No real plans at all today which I am looking forward to because we were so busy all week. Have a great day!

Good morning! Just wanted to stop in and say hello. I know it's been a few days since I've been here, but it's been busy at work and we've been busy as a family too. We're having DS's 8th birthday party today! His actual birthday isn't until July 8th, but with how busy the summer is and DH's work schedule and mine falls, this is what is easiest for us. He wanted a "camping" theme, so we're do a campfire, movie in the backyard, and sleeping in tents, as well as lots of food. He's really looking forward to it. We got him a real guitar for his birthday and he's going to start taking lessons this coming Tuesday. He's so excited! I'll try to pop back in later if I get a chance, but I'll definitely be here tomorrow, for the kick off to CIJ!

Love those figurines-what a perfect tribute. Great ideas all around. Sending you lots of love.

Thanks Crown! Enjoy the Last Weekend of June!

Hi everyone! I hope all is well. It is 91 and humid here today. This kind of day is exactly why I want the calendar to go from March to September. I hate the heat and hate the humidity even more. The hot humid weather wreaks havoc with my health issues. Most people get "cabin fever" in the winter, thinking it is too cold to go outside. I get cabin fever in the summer. I don't go outside all summer for much of anything. They are having fireworks at the lake at 10pm Wednesday night; the first time in 3 years because the city could not afford them. We MIGHT go watch, but at 10pm the heat obviously isn't so bad. I know there are many people that enjoy this weather and I am glad they are having their time, but I have to ask, IS IT SEPTEMBER YET???

95 in NJ, feels like 100. I am FINALLY resting today after about a lifetime of running around and keeping up with everyone else. I am totally binge watching my favorite Youtuber resorttv1. It is nice an relaxing in the a/c house while the world goes by in this heat. One thing I like about summer is defrosting food in a quick manner. I can defrost a whole pan of ziti in about 1 hour outside. I am so grateful I can take this day and rest. Much needed, I slept in until about 11am and I have not done that since, like I was 17 years old.

Have a great day MMCers. Enjoy the day.

Championships should be fun! Bet your daughter is excited.

Hope the party is fun and the weather cooperates. I haven't camped out in a tent in about 6 years. I remember backyard sleepovers; we always wound up inside at some point in the middle of the night.

I DID IT! I'm now the proud (nutsy) owner of 2 VIP floor tickets row 6 at the Elton John concert. We're not going to talk about the fact that I could have gone on a weekend cruise for the price I paid for those tickets, but hey, I get to snap a photo at his piano (without Elton there), etc. so many perks, I know it will be a great time. I always focus on making everyone else happy at Christmas and although I'm not stopping that Santa-like behaviour, I felt I owed myself a big reward and gifting myself these tickets is a good choice.

Picked up three new tops and two summer-like cardigans for my trip with my dad and a olive green blazer to go with a blouse and shorts I already have.

While I was at the grocery store, a toyota tundra hit the front driver bumper leaving the parking lot. The driver stayed with our vehicles until I came out so we could exchange information. It will likely work out best for him that he just pay for the repair job instead of adding it to his insurance. I wasn't even the least bit upset by the incident because he remained at the scene, if he had fled and the grocery store security had to review camera footage and I had to inform the police that would have changed my mood. Honestly, I think I was still happy about the tickets to the concert.

Just got off the phone with my dad and he sounds so excited about our trip in a few weeks. Another treat we're giving ourselves to unwind together.

I'll pop over this weekend to visit.

I never got my closet organizing done today because I was busy shopping, etc. so that has been carried over until tomorrow. I have two more storage towers to help organize things.

Stay jolly! -mistletoe-

I can't believe how excited I am about Christmas this year! Last year was a bit rough for me, so I was having a hard time getting into the spirit. This year though, I've already started listening to Christmas music, making Christmas lists and thinking about what to buy for my family members. I've been going through our Christmas decorations and I'm so excited to buy more. I think we'll put up our tree right after Halloween, then decorate the house in mid November. My hubby strings lights around the house and they look absolutely beautiful! I'm enjoying summer, but I'll absolutely be excited when fall comes.

Ever since "my change"; I have a tough time in the cold and in the heat. I get out when I can and enjoy driving, but not so much the time spent outdoors. I always think, "It's a beautiful day, I don't want to waste it." But then I'm too chilled or too hot and sticky to enjoy being out and the changes in the weather give me migraines.

Enjoy the weekend your way.
