Christmas Countdown - 2019

Thinking of going to the Powassan Fair later today and scouting out the movie set for When Hope Calls. One of the producers bought a house here so I'm guessing he'll be filming more stuff in the near future.
 
Good morning MMC!
It’s going to be a nice day, sunny with highs near 80 degrees. I’m heading out soon to make a big food shopping trip. I also plan on visiting my parents later for lunch, I’m going to pick up a pizza on the way. Back home afterward to work on some chores. Other than that we will probably hang out by the pool and I’m grilling burgers for dinner tonight. That’s about it. I hope everyone has a wonderful last day of August!!!

Good Saturday morning! I can't believe this is the last day of August. Temperatures are definitely taking a downward turn these coming days, which is good in a way because I am tired of extreme humidity, but at the same time it means Summer is on its way out and I love the Summer sun and warmth. I'm working this weekend, hopefully the days will go by quickly. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Just a couple more weekends left before we are in double-digits for BOTH of our count numbers!

Days to the Season: 74
Days to Christmas Day: 116

We can now state that, as of the day after tomorrow, we will be down to just TWO weeks until we reach the 100-Day Christmas Day Window.
(The year has just been racing by, Folks!)

Reasonably pleasant here yesterday, with not overly warm temps nor overly high humidity readings.
Today, it is supposed to reach a high of 89 in Raleigh and 86 at the coast, with no chance of rain in either place.
We begin the weekend here at 70 degrees.

Edge will be piloting us here tomorrow morning, with Auntie (and perhaps O'Malley) taking the helm for Sunday.
Have a Sensational Saturday and a Lovely Labor Day Weekend, Everybody!
 
Good afternoon everyone and a happy Saturday to one and all. I'm staring a new Job on Monday after 19 years in my previous position. Starting a diet as of now! Jonah has just started his nursery school last week so It's all change for me, but in a good way (except the lack of ice-cream). Just in time for the 'bers. I will be seeing them in with a glass of whiskey at midnight. Well you can't change everything.

Hello and Happy Saturday!

One more day to the 'Bers!
In my world, that means Fall starts to tomorrow and that makes it Halloween season. :D

Last night was a BIG football game my high school (where I teach and coach). We played against a team that consistently wins their division and has beaten us the last several years in close games. Last night was different as we won 35-6! It was great to see the boy's hard work pay off. Now tomorrow is my little league game. Hopefully that goes better than our game last week.

I just went out and mowed the grass, and finished within minutes of the rain coming down and storm moving through. I did not get the weed-eating done, but maybe this evening or Monday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and wonderful start to September.
 
Hope everyone is doing well. Temps are lower which is a welcome break. We are smoking 3 huge pork shoulders today and then will shred the meat and food save/freeze it into bags enough for a couple of sandwiches. I am sitting here watching Ohio State play and when the game is over I will start cleaning and packing away my everyday stuff to make room for fall decorations. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday. Go Bucks!

Sounds exciting except for the lack of ice cream.
 
I found something special to add to a Christmas package at the Fall Fair. Also had a few interesting conversations with a few people "manning booths". Picked up a lovely book for my not yet conceived great grandchild.
Saw beautiful horses decorated for the parade. A nice brown horse was sizing me up and gave me a bit of a neigh - made my day.

Got two new bird feeders set up to welcome the birds back for fall and winter and to give O'Malley cat and I some entertainment.

I saw two young pileated woodpeckers today and was thrilled that put a rush on the bird feeder situation I had planned on doing two weeks ago.
