"BER" months are here ...................YESSSSSSSSSS

Yes, September is upon us - I am looking forward to taking my camera out for an Autumn photo shoot near the end of the month and into early October. At one point, I'll be scattering more of my husband's remains because that was our most cherished time.

::welcome to the "bers"...

My husband and I met on a Tuesday (September 17th) so many years ago. We always celebrated three anniversary dates; the day we met, the day he moved in and the day we were married - romantic fools.

This is the first slow song we shared

The weather the last two nights has dipped down to 9-10 c (50 f); makes for nice sleeping weather and yet it warms up to 20-22 by the afternoons (68-72-ish). Personally, I could handle 68-72 year round.

Stay jolly! :lightman

Good Morning! I have to tell you I am always honored to fill in for Crown but today even more than usual. Why? Because it's Septem(BER) 1! The Bers have arrived for 2019! This is the 4 month stretch we all have been waiting for the last 8 months. It's an incredible feeling to say the Bers are Back. I always feel we are truly home when the Bers are here. Now with that out of the way 1st, let's talk about our Countdowns this morning.
Days to the Season: 73
Days to Christmas Day: 115

Ahh yes we're just 15 days from the magical 100 day marker to Christmas. That is a great sight this 1st morning of the wonderful month of September. And with that I hope each and every one of you have a truly great first "Bers" days of the year. Have a Super Sunday!

Thanks for filling in for Crown and opening the "BERS" window. :ornarment

Happy 1st day of the BERS!!! Spent yesterday with the family at Hurricane Harbor and Great Adventure. Was suppose to do yard work today but the grass is wet and it is very cloudy outside so that may get pushed off to later this week. Will work on getting the inside cleaned and ready to decorate for fall :) Hope everyone has a great day!

September 1st! Finally the 'Bers are here and it is time to think about Fall. So many wonderful things about this time of year: Football, fires, cooler weather, pumpkin everything, lovely smells in the air, beautiful colors, Halloween, and of course... so close to the most wonderful time of the year... Christmas!

So far this morning I have been really productive. School lesson planning done, paying bills, balancing the checking accounts, doing laundry, preparing for today's football game. The nice thing is that I have tomorrow off too, so a lot of that stuff I got done today means more free time tomorrow.

Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

Morning Merry Members,

The big day is a scant 120 days away and this is the day that Starbucks unleashes their pumpkin spice flavours for all their drinks. Coincidence? I think not. I will be popping by later today to get my first taste of the fall season. Yay!

It's a bit cooler here today with light showers and overcast for most of the day. The evenings are nice and cool and I keep the windows open at night for a comforting breeze.

The FIL hip surgery went well. The only drawback was that his dementia has now taken a bit of step back. The geriatric doctor said that this is unfortunately common for patients with dementia. He's now been in a care home for about a week and thinks he's been there for a bit longer. We went to visit a couple of days ago and he kept complaining that his clothes have disappeared. "They were here last week and now they're gone." "You've only been here for three days," we mentioned. And once he couldn't remember why we was there, because he couldn't remember having surgery.

I really don't know how anyone who doesn't have a support system could navigate the myriad of appointments, medication, and upkeep needed for anyone with dementia. I know that there must be people out there who fall through the cracks, so to speak. I read a recent statistic that one in four are chronically lonely, despite all the convenience of modern technology to reach out to people.

I'm glad for this forum to have a quick chat to talk about the superficial stuff and the serious stuff. That's one of the reason's I love the Christmas season so much too. It's about the feeling of hope.

Enough of my ramblings. Enjoy some spice today and keep that hope in your hearts.

Continued prayers for you all.
