Christmas Countdown - 2019

Happy Saturday all. Had a rough week, was made redundant at work so now need to find a new job. I’d been there such a long time I’m not sure where to begin. It’s really quite hard having to think about what you’re good at so you can focus efforts when job hunting.
That’s next weeks task, I’m going to try and enjoy the rest of the weekend with the kiddos.
I think we are heading over to see my daughter tomorrow at university. She’s staying about 2 hours from home so not too bad.
It’s late here now, just before 11pm so off to bed, jack (our dog) is looking at me longingly. He tends to follow me up stairs and it’s later than normal today.

Today we went to the Christmas Loft - a year round Christmas store. It's always fun to go there and drool over all the nice stuff.

I didn't put this under blossoms since it's not a regular (non-Christmas) store.

She was born in Nova Scotia and actually grew up on Wellington Street in the Sault. She always referred to her cottage as being on the Island, but on the trip through yesterday, my dad said, it was on the shore facing the island.

Ahh. OK! That's very neat that she grew up on Wellington Street. It's quite a main street! I guess it was easier to say "on the Island?" I'm sure it was a beautiful spot, either way.

Thanksgiving Dinner has been completed. So much turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, ham, steamed vegetables, salad, and more! Perhaps I had a little too much pumpkin pie and apple crisp, too.

It was great, as always, to spend the evening with my in-laws and have many laughs. Of course, I miss my family, but I'm super lucky to have celebrated with them since 2006.

And now, I only have to wait another 74 days until my next big turkey dinner. So excited to countdown to the Season and Big Day from here on in with all of you wonderful people!

Merry Morning, Christmas lovers

I forgot to mention that I wore my Mistletoe Enthusiast top to Bronner's. I asked permission to take photos from a lady adding more ornaments to a display. She said it was totally fine and that they were used to it. A few people have exchanged wedding vows there. My dad was talking to her about my year round Christmas addiction while I snapped a few photos.

O'Malley cat let me sleep in until 5:30; what a sweet boy. I didn't get to bed until 11:30 when the movie I was watching finished, but I had an hour and half nap during the day. I gave him some moist duck and chicken for breakfast. Tomorrow he will have turkey and liver for Thanksgiving dinner.

I shut the car door on my thumb yesterday. I got off lucky with that mishap; it's sore and not as strong as it should be, just a small bruise on the nail and some numbing with contact, thankfully I didn't catch it at the knuckle. One time, a friend gave me a ride from downtown to the grocery store near my place and he shut the door of his truck on my hand. I nearly fainted when he had to open the door to get my hand out and four fingers were dented and scraped. I never realized how much I use my right thumb since I'm left-handed. I use a fork, writing instrument, would wear a ball glove on the left and throw with my right, and handle cash with my left, but I use my right hand for most of the other tasks.

I'm having some java this morning in my S mug and will soon be enjoying some turkey sausage and scrambled eggs with toast for breakfast.

Nobody invited me for Thanksgiving dinner so I might actually grab a take out version to enjoy either tonight or tomorrow for supper. I didn't want to buy the stuffed turkey breast because the dressing the grocery store makes is usually a bit too salty for me. I really liked the way my mom and my dad's sister used to make their stuffing. My husband I used to cheat and make stuffing on the stove instead of filling the bird.

I was invited to Ottawa to celebrate with the boys and their families, but I had declined because I thought my dad and I were going to be away for four days and I didn't want to return for just one day and hit the road again, I have some chores to do around here and wanted to spend some of the holiday with my feral cat.

Good morning everyone. I'm here and it's Sunday morning. What a great time of the week indeed. Time to make some waffles but first things first. Let's talk about our Countdown as I am filling in for Crown. What a lucky person I am.

Days to Halloween: 18 (Getting Spooky!)
Days to the Season: 31 (One month away!)
Days to Christmas Day: 73 (Dropping rapidly!)

As you can see our 3 countdowns are all really looking nice. Halloween is getting closer and closer. The Season is 1 month from today. Christmas Day? We have 10 full weeks and a few days. That's it. This is always the weekend where I realize how everything is now here. The next 10 weeks are basically the most amazing time of year. Let's enjoy it. Have a Super Sunday Everyone!

Merry Sunday..just enjoying some coffee and relaxing. My oldest daughter drove to her soccer practice this morning...I was nervous about her driving but she texted me and let me know that she got there ok. I know I have to let her go but it is scary..lol! Not too much planned for today I may go out and get some mums for my front steps.
