ASSOCIATIONS: WORDS AND IMAGES

Remember word association tests? You would be given a word or words and asked what is the first thing to pop into your head?

Well, Christmas has so very many word associations:
Holly, mistletoe, wreaths, Santa, elves, reigndeer, chimneys, north pole, snow, firs, bows, ribbons, bells, ornaments, tinsel, red and green lights, holiday music, cards, eggnog, milk&cookies.
But is that really surprising? After all, Christmas is so universal to so many.
And every image can bring a smile to your face.

Here we have another association that most people don't: MMC. Our little community here to remind us of our favorite holiday and its salient images all year long.
Populated with friendly people, it is perhaps the nicest place to go on the entire internet even if you are not into Christmas all year.

Let your mental images flow this season. Let them carry you away into a world of holiday happiness, where there is nostalgia for the past coupled with optimism and hope for the future.

Have a great Christmas Season, dear friends.
And thank you once again for counting down with us!

- Crown

So wonderfully said, Crown! These words and images gave me so much happiness!!

I hope everyone has had a great Wednesday at the 'Pines. The fact that we're starting our favourite season on a Wednesday just adds to the magic of the Season. I'm so happy that I was able to countdown with all of you last night, and then get to spend this evening with you at the 'Pines.

The Christmas Season is here. Merry Christmas.

Wow. Pines outta control tonight. Who spiked the egg nog? Yabba!

Straight No Chaser was there - so I think they did it.

The decorations at the Pines were very festive; I had to wear my sunglasses due to all the pretty lights.

So much to see and do. The battery on my phone died so I couldn't snap a photo of O'Malley and Carl in their Elf and Santa get ups.

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

It's still cold and overcast, but I have a Mulled Cider candle in a glass jar in front of my little space heater, and it smells like Fall in here, so I'm happy!

I took Elizabeth's car to a local body shop to get her front-end aligned. They quoted $79.99, and I agreed. At 4:30 pm I called them to find out when it would be ready. That's when they started trying to sell me new shocks and tires. No thank you. But they absolutely had to have two replacement bolts at $12 apiece. Ok, $104 will work, I guess. No sir, actually it will be $195 with tax and $75 labor to screw the two bolts in.:mad: I told them I'd come get the car, but it was in pieces in their shop, and couldn't be re-assembled without those two bolts.

They had me.

I hope y'all have a better day than I'm having! :D

sounds like a guy I saw once for a head gasket replacement in a van, a very simple job on that model, only required taking off 2 screws, removing the old one and putting in the new one and replacing the screw again. He told me it was hard to get at and would take at least 2 hours of work to do. I said, "really ? you take 2 hours to take off those screws and fix this ?" I closed the hood and left. I guess he figured I would no know that.

You have honorable mentions in encrypted hyper links, ma’am! Missed you and JayIsh of the former C.com’ers last evening!
:)
This new job - something has got to change....I'm missing my Christmas peeps & all the special posts & ...

Maybe today I'll have a chance to go back & read what I all missed! So bummed!!!

Hello all! I usually don't start the Christmas season until Thanksgiving weekend but I've had the itch since Halloween so my pandora is set to festive tunes. My teenagers don't like it too much right now but they will adjust. Hope all of you are doing well and stay warm!
Love it!! AND Thanksgiving is so late this year - there's not enough time to enjoy between Thanksgiving & Christmas - gotta start early! :)

Speaking of - I put my sunroom tree up last night. It doesn't have lights or decorations yet, BUT I'm hoping to work on that tonight. Can't wait to see it all lite up!!! :D

Today we are "celebrating" - Mom's 1 year Anniversary in Heaven! I can't believe it's been a year! We are sharing our favorite "Mom pics" on our family FB page! So many wonderful memories!!!!

Yep..those 2 bolts are used in the alignment. Sometimes the original bolts cant be used due to wear in the front end and they need a larger size. I had to have larger ones for my truck and they were 30.00 each. Had em replace the shocks/struts because it was only 3 more bolts while they replaced those gold plated alignment bolts.
