I was wondering if any of you have walked a corn maze? They have one a few towns over from me and I have considered taking D/D to it. Here is a map of the one I would like to go too. Looks like it would be loads of fun.
billings.jpg

It looks like according to their website they have tons of fun going on. From the maze to hayrides, pumpkin patch etc. Also as the days get closer to Halloween they reserve a few nights for a Field of Screams where I am sure there are people jumping out from nowhere to scare the heck outta ya. D/D wants to do this one but I am not to sure myself....*L*

Been to two or three and they are a absolute blast.

I like to get lost (on purpose) and freak out my girlfriend. Of course, she says I don't have to try to get lost. Oh well... :-)
Thanks for giving me your input on this. I hope to hear from others as well. I am really thinking about rounding my sisters up and all the kids and heading to the maze. I can only imagine the loads of fun this will be. Do you know generally how long it takes to walk through these? I am sure there are ones that are various sizes. But the website for this one doesn't say. Just curious is all! =)

We love the corn mazes!!! My youngest daughter has a field trip soon to the pumpkin patch. It's all she's been talking about. They're great fun.

I have fun with them. My husband I went to one last year that was set up like a hunted corn field. Needless to say I didn't take my son who was only one. But we had a blast it was a first time for me. I never did a lot of fun stuff when I was young as my parents both worked to make ends meet. So I'm living my childhood again with my son the one I always dreamed of.

=)

We took my daughter and her friend to this one at Luray Caverns this year. WE...ummm... I mean "they" loved it!

Well I plan to go next weekend if all goes as planned with my sisters and their kids. Can't wait! =)

hay bail maze...a little different

we went to a pumpkin patch last year that had a hay ride and hay bail maze. It was tons of fun for the kids!

Hey y'all, I 've never done one but I am thinking about getting a bunch of us to go from work one nite. Some of my friends would say that about me too annette!! cheesy

Well it looks as if I won't be going this weekend afterall. Our weather was great today in the 70's but by Friday and Saturday it's only going to be in the 30's and they are predicting snow and rain...ugh! Oh well maybe next weekend.

I have never been in a maze, but since it pertains to Halloween and there are usually people in there to scare the wit's out of you,I really don't think I'd like it . I don't like spook house's and don't like scary movie's.I also don't like the feeling of being/feeling trapped and not being able to find my way out .Went into a House Of Mirror's maze once at a fair when I was younger and never went in one again .

I know I'm a scardy cat and just no fun .

Speedy - I remember going to a museum of horror in Niagara Falls as a kid and one of the exhibits came to life (it was a gorilla) and ripped the head off my brother's Tommy Talker Ventriloquist doll. The tunnels were dark and people kept grabbing at us from the shadows. We went through it in about two minutes, told our dad about Tommy Talker and he went in and came out with money and an apology to my brother from the gorilla. It turned me off of the idea. It was the actions of the jerk in the gorilla outfit that scared me more than hands reaching for us and whispering in creepy voices.

EEK! I'm giving myself shivers.

My husband and I went with our grandkids and their parents to a great place to spend the day. This was two years ago. I still remember it vividly.

They had a haunted hay ride, Barn of Terror, Mazes Galore, Original Spooky yet funny entertainment, play structures, corn and apple chucking, etc. They do a fun play Jack Sparrow and the Case of the Missing Squirrel. It's suitable for kids. I'm sure the night adventures and plays for grown ups are spookier.

Check it out.

Not to toot my horn, but I made it through the labyrinth maze, the older grandsons did not.

There were several to choose from. I caught a few people trying to crawl through from one side to the other when they got lost. They tried to follow me, I told them I didn't know where I was going.

I think I was smelling popcorn and that got me moving in the right direction. HaHa. I think we'll go back next Fall, there won't be time this October.

:hello: You should go, Annette just to try it once! I hope the weather clears up for you next weekend.

Along with the maze, Cool Patch Pumpkins will feature endless varieties of pumpkins, a scarecrow contest that will reward the winners with up to $5,000 in prizes and a gigantic finale: “The Ultimate Pumpkin Smash.”

I guess they are becoming more appealing to people. There's a smaller one closer to me that has a Fall Harvest and families or school groups can go on a wagon ride and pick their own pumpkins out of the patch, I think they have apples there too. I've never been to it. They have an Easter Egg hunt there in the Spring, but quite often there's still snow on the ground so I'm not sure how much fun it is.
