Jay=- great idea..... double our consumption.. ok- call Cedar and let's meet at the Israel Lites Deli andthen prank call down south to tea drinker(s) - though one in particular....

cricket- did someone say cricket?

Ice Queen, that IS unusual. Very pretty actually...nickname would be...Holli? You talk of a shop, what kind of shop is it? Is it a Christmas store by any remote chance? Iceland...wow! Tell us more...

Bing, meet me at the deli, order me a corned beef on rye with Grey Poupon, hold the rye. Also, a cup of joe, I'll be there as soon as I find my dusty wig.

Hey, Cedar! You here?
I like the sound of that corned beef on rye.
But I'll take mine with iced tea, of course - nicely sweetened.
Yum!

Well yesterday here was 100+, today was 80+, tomorrow is suppose to be rain +, so guess the next day should be snow +, Right. What does that make the day after, the holidays +. lol I wish, but they are coming on pretty fast now. Can hardly wait. I have a large 5 gallon glass bottle and I have been putting money in it all year long, was suppose to be a kitty for my vacation that I didn't get again this year, so guess what? I'm turning it into a Christmas kitty jar, more lights, movies and music for Christmas. Yippeeeeeee

Good Morning Everyone !

Andrex - Snow is always a good thing. The more the better! Up to the point that no one gets hurt shoveling, of course.

Stay safe - stay cool.

Yeah that's really the only downside. Lucky I know someone with a plow and I don't mind shoveling too much, snow is calming and I love silence and time to think. :snowball:

88 days to the Season.
130 days to Christmas Day.

Good Morning, friends!

Wow! Another hot one yesterday. We topped out at 101 degrees. Are we ready for fall yet?

Well, on the upside, it's FRIDAY!
I hope everyone has a Fabulous one.
And a Wonderful Weekend to boot!

Binger, the old Ford is under repair as we speak.
Will finally get that critical, all-important dashboard light replaced which the state has declared a major safety hazard.
Gee, this hassle is going to drive me to drink (coffee).....NAH!

oh dancing boy... I see you here.....

Hey Crown.. now you're talking... hey Cedar- don the wig and belt outthe look of love for our new java drinker.. theya re a mover and a shaker- a part of the NEW coffee generation!

Dancing Boy at your service!!!

Another Friday!!! Man these weeks go fast!!!

I had dinner on Wednesday night with four people whom I haven't seen in twenty-five years...We all agreed how quickly those years went...It was a really weird feeling at first but within twenty minutes it was like we just picked up where we left off...Twenty Five Christmases ago...SCARY!!!

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO BINGER!!!!!!

a part of the NEW coffee generation!

When they make tea-flavored coffee, I'll be first in line!
(Hmmm..... I wonder if I can get Carl to work on that when he gets back home?)

Good Morning and Happy Friday to Everyone!

The weather here in Chicago is : Currently 75F and Sunny. High 81F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Mainly clear skies. Low 59F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.
Just in case anyone was headed this way.

Jay - Careful, your giving our ages away (and I'm older than you).

Andrex - We used to own a Snow removal service. I just loved getting out in the snow at about 0200hrs. In the morning it's usually very quiet (once I turn the truck off). I miss the business, but I can still enjoy the snow. Anyway I kept a really big snowblower, so the snow is not a problem.

Crown - Carpenters go good anytime of the year, but especially with Christmas. When the boys were young (and so were we), I was away at work on a lot of their Christmas's. Mrs.Eagle's (and mine) favorite song was I'll be home for Christmas. Any version was good, but the Carpenters was the best. Today we play the song and remember when . . . . but now we are home and remembering together !

Song for today (with a little zip, just to keep you going to quitting time): Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas - 01 - Deck the Halls.

Stay safe - stay cool

Hey Kids!

Late day greetings! Remember "The Unknown Comic"? That guy that wore a paper bag over his head and was a regular on "Sonny & Cher"? I recall my Dad whincing whenever Cher broke into song...sometimes he would actually get up and walk out of the room, shaking his head.

Sorry I missed you Crown...what's this I hear? You might be considering a coffee-flavored tea? That's kinda like a vegetarian eating soy pelts that resemble bacon! Heehahooo!!!

Have a GREAT & WONDERFUL Friday!!!!!

oh that was brillant...... a veg eating soy bacon....... OMG....

OK Carl is enroute back to ya Crown- ALL THREE HUMPS ARE RE-FILLED... sit down and enjoy your new life with COFFEE..... yeahhh baybyyeee...... ( jay-a paus du lux in honor of the new mover and shaker...- Cedar- belt out a Dusty song....)

:)) Hello dears, I'm backkkk!

Look at that, this countdown thread started on July 23rd and including this post we're already at 275.

That was a quick trip for Carl, betcha he comes back with a little surprise for Crown in one of those humps - if I know Binger.

Good Morning Everyone !

I love being on a new site, my old jokes are new again, sooooo . . . . .

This guy goes into a restaurant for a Christmas breakfast while in his home town for the holidays. After looking over the menu he says, "I'll just have the eggs Benedict." His order comes a while later and it's served on a big, shiny hubcap.
He asks the waiter, "What's with the hubcap?"
The waiter sings, "O, there's no plate like chrome for the hollandaise!"

On that high note, my song for today (of course) would have to by:
The Carpenters - Christmas Portrait - Home for the Holidays

Stay safe - stay cool.

:whisper: Don't tell, but I actually laughed at that.

:rudolph: Guess you took care of your Cricket problem, Cedar.

It reminds me of the time I was walking back from the movies late at night with my friend. It was dark and we missed the bus. I heard a Cricket chirping and thought how nice it sounded and then suddenly it stopped. I figured we were close to it and it was a shy cricket and didn't want us to hear it.

The next day, venturing back downtown I passed by the same house just before the downtown core and there was the cricket - squished on the ground. I didn't mean to step on it. Honest.

We had one in our house when I was little. I was afraid of so many things that the only way to rid myself of the fear was to give names to the things that scared me.

 It was quite a ritual for about a year when I said "goodnight" to Payloff the furnace, BlaBla the tie rack, Jiminey Cricket, etc.

Good Morning!

Well, Carl is back safe and sound, with all 3 humps filled.
But, you were right, Auntie, there was a surprise.
I was suspicious that Binger would allow Carl to leave with full humps of coffee. That just isn't like them.
Anyway, the surprise was: One hump was filled with tea, one with hot chocolate and one with the sweetest eggong you ever tasted! THANKS, BING!
(Carl says he had a good time, by the way - and that Bing liked the coffee-persimmon blend he worked up for them. I keep telling him they like ANY coffee but he keeps trying to please.)

87 days to the Season.
129 days to Christmas Day.

Another hot one yesterday with highs in the upper 90's.
Now we have a major Carribean hurricane out there. Fortunately, it looks like it will stay south of the USA.
(I wouldn't plan any trips to Jamaica for the time being!)

Iron, the Percy Faith orchestra did an excellent version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas". Simply breathtakingly beautiful.
I would think the Carpenters song that would get to you the most would be "Merry Christmas, Darling". That one is so sad, I usually can't listen to it.

Cdear wrote: "...what's this I hear? You might be considering a coffee-flavored tea? That's kinda like a vegetarian eating soy pelts that resemble bacon!"

Hey, I would drink it!
<< Carl! Can you work up something like that for me? >>
(He said he would think about it.)

Have a Stupendous Saturday, everyone!

 I knew Binger would send you a surprise, I'm just surprised it didn't turn out to be coffee-flavoured eggnog.

:)) I think I'll pick up a gift or two tomorrow whilst I'm shopping. I don't have anything in mind. If something seems to wave to me from a shelf, I grab it up.
