Quick check up on my Turducken buddies...

I am SO thankful for all my friends here...old and new.
A very happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends, old (well, not really OLD...) and new!
~ I just made the scalloped Oyster dressing. A tradition in my family...I got the recipe from my Grams herself, in her handwriting, a treasure to me.

Let the eating begin! (can someone please uncork something?)

Hey! I just bet there is a couch somewhere in N.C. with a Crown on it.

"I'll take Classic Pompadours for $500 please, Alex"...

Question: The most magnificent pompadour in bluegrass history..

Good Afternoon Everyone. . . . . . and, of course, HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

The turkeys (note plural), are in the oven, the honey baked ham is on the grill, whole wheat sausage and sage stuffing, spuds, pumpkin muffins, and lots of veggies. And that's just for starters.

My son Matt is home from Camp Pendleton, and the rest of the guests will be here in about 45min.

I hope everyone's thanksgiving is going just as well.

Later, my friends !!!

BTW- it is true that turkey causes sleepiness to be induced..... hmmmm ohhh Crown......
ZZZZZZZ! --- Huh? Wha?? --- Oh, yeah, it does. ----
ZZZZZZZ!

When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie...What a day...My wife is up in the spare room hanging wreaths out the window and lights around them...She's Mrs. Clark Griswold this year! Can't wait to see the electric bill...Hope they offer financing...I can hear those little dials spinning from here...Aside from some kids who struggled to get along, the day was wonderful...Good food, good family...Good coffee...When my Mom makes coffee you can just about get the spoon to stand up in it...My brother was making jokes and acting like he was chewing his coffee...Binger! You'd have loved it...There were sparks in the room we were all whizzing so fast...I guess I ought to fall asleep by about New Years Eve...

Good Thanksgiving Evening! Our family get together will be Saturday due to the four shift workers of the family.

I'm at work grooving to a December 25, 1993 archived Christmas show from The Hound on WFMU out of the Hudson Valley covering New York City and parts of New Jersey.

Check it out - http://thehound.net/19931225/ One can listen to the entire show or certain segments, or even individual tunes. All are downloadable in whole or part. Traditionalists beware!

Look for an archived Christmas audio thread in the music section shortly after your "Holiday radio station" pulls the Christmas plug (and rather abruptly)!

morning you lovely lot xxxxxxx

SEASON DAY 11
Days to Christmas Day: 32

Well, no time. We are launching forth on "Black Friday" (for better or worse!)

Have a Fabulous Friday, Fellow Shoppers!

Hey Crown- maybe you can find a park bench and take a nap......

hmmmmm that's a tough one.. there's too many "Gospel Hairdos..." in bluegrass...... hmm bill Monroe? Ralph Stanley? Jessee McReynolds?

Ding-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling....Bing got it! (Jesse's bro, Jim. hehehe..that hair reaches Bank of America proportions!)

Wow. Quite a day and fun too. Cut down a tree (Norway Spruce) on my property...didn't mind because the deer ate the bottom of it, and the top was perfect. Brought into the dining room by the piano...I'm in the process of decorating it, while downing a couple brewskies....maybe three.

I'm lovin' this time of year..and my pals here at My MerryChristmas.com. Thanks Jeff!

MyMerryBingster....lol.

So obvious too!!!! I have to buzz sooner and spend less time adding little hearts and happy faces to my signature on the board!!

Happy cutting down, decorating your tree and drinking beer day, Cedar!! What an EXCELLENT way to spend time.

Jay - did you corner the market in pie?! Did the daily allocation of fruit and veg in one go theory work?!

Crown - did you trample or were you trampled?

Binger - where's my Haiku?!! Here - take more java.....

Dogs have no respect of time and pj's - must give them a refresher course in lock-picking.

Catch you all in the early afternoon. Saturday, with no weddings and a lie-in = WOOHOO!!!
:wiggy:

Ok Ok Haiku....

The bells of Christmas ring...

As Isaach Hayes walks across the stage in Gold chains....

And Crown sleeps on...

In the shispering Pines>

ok ok Jim McReynolds....

answer:

Paus Dulexs every chance they get.... frequents Springsteen concerts.. and is well known to java up...... (often is involved in one of the most memorable moments ever in Opera...)

Hey Crown- maybe you can find a park bench and take a nap......
Alas, there was none to be had.

Successful shopping trip. Have now nearly completed my shopping, reducing the stress for the heart of the Christmas season!
(And the nieces did not drain off TOO much money!)

I hope everyone else had a profitable day!

well done crown me too
morning xxxxxx

:notice: Hey, Crown - you asked me to check my facts

In 2003, (at Christmas.com forums) there were 348 replies on 28 pages - not sure when it officially started.
In 2004, there were 1215 replies on 41 pages
In 2005, there were 1087 replies on 37 pages
In 2006, at TXP there were 3756 replies on 251 pages. (It ran a little longer passed Christmas Day though.)

Good eye - in 2005 there were still 41 days to go and I didn't get the final numbers on that.

It's snowing!

It started yesterday so we could enjoy our 19th annual Old-Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk.

We have about four inches this morning and it's still coming.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be freezing rain, we'll see.

I'm still planning on venturing to the mall to see the kiddies return from the North Pole, on the Santa Claus Express.

Hope y'all had a nice Thanksgiving!

:)) Survived Black Friday and are enjoying the first day of the weekend. (Well for some of us - those that are working this weekend, thanks for helping to keep the world going 'round.)

With the snow falling, I'm going to place Christmas music while I do my housework.
