Not to mention the shispering waves - great to sleep by. (But make sure you are above the high tide line!)

Good Morning, my friends!
Friday it is, and we are but hours away from the weekend - another weekend closer to that certain Season!

It was 73 when I left for work this morning and a bit overcast but no rain is predicted, something we still need.
(A nice small tropical storm would be nice about now!)

Well, we are off to the coast this afternoon.
I hope everyone has a Fabulous Friday, a Stupendous Saturday and a Super Sunday.
See you Sunday night or Monday morning!
Keep that Christmas flame burning.

Happy Friday everyone!
It's a super special Friday for me since I have completed all of this week's homework early and will have the entire weekend free to focus on building my Christmas display!
Only 53 more days until the lights come on!! Only 16 more days until I graduate!!

Can you say "SNOOPY DANCE!!"?

Good Morning Everyone !!

Happy Friday to all. I'm off on Monday, but weekends are still nice. I get to see everyone else, and still have a day to get my chores done. Monday will be "close the pool" day. Now that two of my sons are out of the house, there is just my son Jon Eagle, Mrs.Eagle, and I to do the job. Maybe I'll invite Grandma Eagle over. It's a 16X32ft pool , so the extra pair of hands would be welcome.

We are getting into the high 40's at night. I thought of making hot chocolate when I got home last night (2300hrs), but just the smell would wake up Mrs.Eagle, and she has to get up early . . . . . . Maybe tonight (she's off tomorrow). Hmmmm. 50 degrees is cold enough for hot chocolate, right ???

Martha K - Yes I can. I remember when Mrs. Eagle finished her finals, and it was all over except "The Walk" (across the stage to get the diploma). She dropped her books and papers at the door and she danced. Congrats to you !!! Turn the music up, and dance . . . . . . . . . . dance like nobody is looking !

Suggested listening for today: Perry Como - Winter Wonderland (1959 version).

hmmm opera... I sense opera....

" The shispering pines spoke the aria... " Ohhh leaf ohhhh leaf.. though art like a Maple.. sorta Canadian like.....""

Okay - here's your dance!

So it's not your Birthday, but Snoopy's doin' his fancy paw work.

Took a lovely drive to see the Autumn leaves. Had a moment of Christmas weakness when I nearly jumped out of the car to buy a farm - thought having a Christmas tree farm might be fun! There was no "for sale" sign anywhere to be seen so my husband stopped me from causing a scene.

Back to Fall leaves. Oh yesssss beautiful colours. Roll the windows down smell the earth feel the crispness in the air - lovely. What's that smell? "Drive faster dear, it's spoiling my tranquility."
My poor husband, sure has to put up with a lot just to go for a drive.

If that wasn't enough, I got him to stop at the Mexican Restaurant we were going to have supper at so I could grab a menu and have a look over it at home in the afternoon. I need time to decide what I want.

He thought I'd come out with a photocopy, but I returned with a full coloured-plasticized dinner menu. I told him that I explained I needed time to think it over and the hostess handed to me.
Truth is, I know the owner. I forgot who owned it until I saw her standing there. So we went back later on for dinner and I brought the menu with me.

A different hostess was "on" and she said, "oh you have your own copy of the menu?" I could tell from her reaction that this was not an everyday occurrence.
We were seated and she left us for a moment likely to find out who I was. She returned with our water and we promptly placed our order. I explained that it was handy to have early access so I could decide what to eat. She said, "I know, Susan told me". So she walked away and my husband said, "who?" So then the "cat was out of the bag" and I had to come clean that we knew the owner.
She came over to the table to check on us. She only met my husband twice before.
It was good food, but I realized I'm getting too old to eat spicy food. It brings on instant hot flashes.

:hello: Well, that was a long-winded (so what) story wasn't it?

So what's on the agenda for tomorrow? Another drive perhaps to grab a few pics this time - yup I forgot the camera. If it warms up a bit, we can go for a hike.

 Nice job with the count there, Cedar!

cheesy GOOD MORNING Friends!!

Love any and all of your stories Auntie! Wow! You almost bought a Christmas tree farm, how cool! I thought at one time that I would have a Christmas tree farm but I couldn't cut them down once they grew into magnificent trees....the darn tree hugger that I am. Someday Auntie, someday...you are going to have that farm!

44 days to the Season!
86 days until Christmas!
Look at time fly! I'm REALLLLLY getting in a Christmas mood now!!

Lovely fall morning, went out to get the paper, smelled wood smoke, heard the cries of Sandhill Cranes circling overhead, heard distant chainsaws...the leaves are starting to get vibrant, this is my favorite time of year.

Have a great day everyone, get outside!

:tree:

I was just outside listening to the shispering pines- makes me think of the classic bluegrass song..

" In the Pines.. In the Pines.. In the ( Shispering..) Pines......"

Good Evening Everyone !

Just a quick "Top of the Evening" to everyone. Today is my friday (Wooohoo!).

Suggested listening for tonight: Vince Guaraldi Trio - Charlie Brown - 05 - Chistmastime is here.

I've got a long list of chores for tomorrow. See you all later. I think I hear Shispering. Yes I do hear it . . . . . . . coming from Binger's lap top. Yep, he's inspired.

OK, Bing. I expect everyone to be shispering in the next opera installment as they shlip their coffee while I try to shleep.

Well, we are back after a nice trip to the beach to get some work done at the cottage.
Carl had a great time making sand angels while Fox ran around him and barked. (Let me tell you, don't watch a camel lying on his back making sand angels when you have a full stomach!)

It promises to be a very busy day at the office tomorrow full of meetings so I will go ahead an post Monday's count now in case I can't make it to the board:
43 days to the Season.
85 days to Christmas Day.

Have a Marvelous Monday, my fellow Christmas Comrades.

If only Mrs. Williamson, my fifth grade teacher was here...She'd finally see that typos DO pay off...Thank you all for adopting my "shispering"...A busy, chaotic and emotionally draining weekend...I'm glad to be back at work!!! Better days ahead though...I can see them just over the horizon, past those shispering pines...

Anybody read "Funky Winkerbean" in the comics section of the paper? I'm almost in tears each day lately...

I had the opportunity to read 'The Prayer of St. Francis" last night...If you've never read it, find it! It is SO good!!!

Another edition of Short Attention Span Theatre, brought to you by the kind folks at "Shispering Pines Christmas Tree Farm"...

~Welcome Back Crown!~ All this schleep shlipping & shispering reminds me of our local weather girl who has a lisp. Yes, a lisping weathergirl...you try keeping the coffee down when she announces, "S-evere S-torms in the S-outhern part of our S-tate". Geesh! Talk about S-hispering!

Thanks so much Jay for our new fun word!! A Countdown Classic for years to come!

P.S. I bet Carl has to quickly switch sides when he does his sand angels, I can just see those four legs on each side, looking like a giant crab.

Have a Monday everyone!

Great drama.... great java.. great arias..... Dusty........ Villian ( hmmm wonder who)- The Paus Du Lux...... all in the settting of the Shispering pines....

:-? I want to lodge a complaint with the shispering pine management.

You see, I was minding my own business today - as always - when suddenly a song started playing in my brain . . . the song was from Paint Your Wagon, but the version playing in my head was from the Smothers Brothers' version.

"I talk to the trees
But they don't listen to me
I talk to the stars
But they never hear me
The breeze hasn't time
To stop and hear what I say
I talk to them all in vain"

. . . then suddenly the shispering pines sang a song to me . . . what are the words? They sound quite Christmassy . . .

 Anyone got a remedy for me, I'm suffering a terrible dose of song flu.
