I saw one similar to this size outside the window of a dorm room on campus where I work.
Boy I hope no one opened that window.

Luckily, it was summer and there was no-one in the room. I had taken a screen out to repair and discovered it. I luckily didn't get stung and was able to take the nest down without injury.
