Italy Coloured/Dyed Eggs
Ingredients to Dye Eggs
Only natural ingredients are used, the eggs are wrapped around onion's peel and the carefully placed flowers and herbs and then boiled.
In Luxembourg, Easter eggs are dyed using the wax resist method, similar to batik, with intricate designs drawn in hot wax. Artisans apply wax and dye in alternating layers, building the design color by color from light to dark. The process may take many hours.
In Belgium, Easter eggs are often dyed naturally with red onion skins, which can be used to produce vibrant shades of red, pink, orange, purple, and green.
