Yes, I do have German ancestors. My mothers side has only been in America for I think four generations. They came over right before the start of WWII.
I was told it means mother eye or mother sight. I guess my Grandmother started as a family joke but in many ways it fits me, so it stuck.
But really, I play in a 56 hour Trivia contest that is a fundraiser for a college radio station and I needed a screen name. I have grown rather attached to it so I use it pretty much for all my online stuff.
