Hey guys, a little late in the month to start posting I guess, but I opened this account earlier on and figured I might as well actually do something with it!

I'm a refugee from Christmasfanclub.com. I know there are a few more of us here as well. That was a great Christmas forum while it lasted, but now it is for all intents and purposes dead, so I have to find a new Christmas home!

I have loved Christmas since I was a kid and, around this time of year, I'm always looking for others who feel the same way.

I hope everyone is having a good December so far!

I appreciate the warm welcome. I intend to jump into the fray earlier but just didn't get around to it.

Looks like I've got 9 good days to get in some Christmas discussion before the big day!

You know, not more than an hour ago a friend told me that he took my advice and watched Alistair Sim just CRUSH IT in 1951. I was very proud of him. He made the right decision.

Rumor has it that somewhere in the world Reginald Owen turned over in his grave.

Bonjour! Last year at the local playhouse I attended the performance of Scrooge. The gentleman who purchased the building to become the playhouse played the role of Mr. Fezziwig. :gifty6:gifty6

That sounds awesome! I have had the chance to watch three live adaptations of the story: one in Jackson, MS, one in Dallas, and one in Salt Lake City. It's always interesting to see how different producers/directors interpret and present the story in different ways.

Sounds like we have some real Dickens and A Christmas Carol experts amongst us
It's certainly one of my favorite stories. Personally, I own the 1951 (Alistair Sim), 1984 (George C. Scott) and 1999 (Patrick Stewart) versions on disc and make a point to watch at least one of them every year. 1951 is, in my opinion, the best adaptation of all time but I appreciate the others as well.

Disney's 1999 animated film isn't bad. And 1938 with Reginald Owen isn't my favorite, but I'll admit it has has some merit, especially in the form of the gorgeous Ann Rutherford as the Ghost of Christmas Past.
