Hello All,
Glad to be amongst a group that loves Christmas as much as I do!
Having loved Christmas all my life it was a natural progression to eventually play Santa Claus. Being a big fan of the original "Miracle on 34th Street", it was a thrill for me to become a genuine Macy's Santa for the Pittsburgh area.
The, "Macy's #2 Santa" is a tongue-in-cheek designation I gave myself because I'm the parade Santa for the second biggest parade in the country that has the Macy's name on it, the "My Macy's Parade" in Pittsburgh.
I love collecting old Christmas children's books from the 50's & 60's because it takes me back to the days of my youth. I especially love the old-style artwork. My prized possession is a 1942 Sears Christmas catalog. You should see the old toys!
When I'm not playing Santa my wife and I love going to estate sales & flea markets. It's like treasure hunting because you'll never know what you might find. I've already found the Beatles' Butcher cover LP for $5 and my wife found a Louis Vuitton purse for $3 (We eventually resold them).
Still work for a living as a carpenter and a locksmith and counting down to retirement in about 7 years.
The real love of my life is being a new grandpappy to my little girl Haeley, age 4 months. Whenever I visit her my heart melts! Grandchildren sure are a lot of fun! My favorite thing to do is to make her laugh.
I'm happy to see that there are people who seek to love and preserve the traditions of Christmas, and I'm proud to be a member here.
