Hello all! I am new to this community but am looking forward to exploring it. I am from southwest Kansas, a father of 3, and have been married for over 17 years. Christmas is my favorite holiday and my favorite time of year. However, this year will be bitter/sweet. My grandmother, who was also the only mother I ever knew, passed away this past April. So it will be hard not having her around. My grandfather has been gone now for 6...going on 7 years. After my grandmother passed away, the family didn't want to lose the house and so now me and my family are living in the house. So while it is sad to not have my grandparents here, I am excited to be able to celebrate Christmas this year with my kids in the very house I grew up in and celebrated Christmas with my grandparents! We moved from Arizona in May to be here and my 2 youngest kids have not ever played in snow and have only seen it from afar. So I am hoping and praying for a white Christmas which would help make this Christmas as perfect as it can be without my grandparents here. :)

Hello & Welcome, Spence!

First Christmases after loosing family can be bitter sweet. I'm glad you can continue with your enjoyment of Christmas with your family in your home. I experienced similar circumstances six years ago.

RadioJonD speaks the truth, as usual. I'm sorry for your loss.

Hello & Welcome to MMC, Spence! :rudolph:

Welcome Spence. I hope you love it here.

Welcome, Spence! Somehow, there will be moments of comfort, in the house this Christmas, that you would miss if you were anywhere else.

Hi Spence, nice to meet you! Sorry to hear about your recent loss. Welcome to MMC! :tree:

I'm glad you get to be in the same house.

My brother bought my grandmother's house when she died so we still get to go over there some.

Welcome to the forum.
