I went to 4 Hobby Lobby stores in Alabama while on vacation and none of them had trees out. In fact, they didn't have hardly any Christmas out at all. Not sure why our HL is way ahead of the game, but I sure am glad they are. I'm sure the rest are close behind.

We also went to several TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Homegoods stores but they didn't have any Fall items out. Hopefully soon.
On a whim yesterday, we went to Dollar Tree because I needed a silicone brush. Turns out they had the beginnings of some Fall stuff going up! My wife bought three small wooden pumpkins.

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

We are now past July 4th. I always notice a huge change psychologically in me after July 4th is over. I can only compare it to how it feels when we exit February and enter March. I feel like with July 4th in the past now, I am on the OTHER side of Summer. The summer lovers will disagree with me, and that's fine, because truthfully there is lots of summer left to enjoy. But make no mistake, we know what is waiting for us.

It was Wizarding World Weekend on Syfy. All weekend long. I went ahead and splurged on some Harry Potters on Saturday night. With the cool weather, it was an amazing feeling. I almost feel like it was a free preview of what is to come. Those lazy September / October weekends are really in their own category. I've mentioned before that I feel like November, and even December have a crazy, almost insane pace. But there's none of that in September or October. No wonder Edge calls it the "sweet spot".

Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Our 3 day weekend is in the books, and most of us are heading back to work today. What a glorious weekend it was. I saw cool evenings, and mild daytime temperatures. I'm not sure if I ever experienced a July 4th with temperatures only in the mid 70's.

I also just cannot believe that we are now only SEVEN days away from beginning the "final 50" on the days to The Bers.

I made it out to Hobby Lobby yesterday, and FINALLY saw Christmas Trees, only a few, but they were there. With seeing as full as they are now on Fall Stuff, I REALLY got the feels yesterday, especially as I came home and finished out the evening with Wizarding World weekend on SyFy. It is just hard to imagine sometimes that all of the Holidays that we love so much, are really just up ahead. Our good friend Edge would say that there is still plenty of summer left, and perhaps he is right, but I mentioned yesterday that mentally it FEELS different being past July 4th, especially when you consider that the next Holiday that we celebrate, will find us comfortably in September.

Have a great Tuesday!

Alright fellow spooks...

For weeks now I've been saying "It's happening" and seeing little hints of Fall showing up here and there. Well, this has now bled over into the Seasonal Candy of the Week, and today I've got a candy to present that you can get right now, presumably by going directly to a certain location to buy a bag, or, should that fail, ordering it from their website.

Cracker Barrel, herald of all things Fall, now has Pumpkin Spice Werther's Original Chewy Caramels available!

Cracker Barrel is known for putting out their Fall displays early, and it was July a few years back when I found Pumpkin Pie M&Ms there. These Pumpkin Spice caramels are on another level. The pumpkin spice is notably present but not overwhelming at all, and the caramel just kind of melts in your mouth. I can easily put away a bag of these by myself...not that I've ever done that before or anything...

Anyway, check your local Cracker Barrel if there's one in your area as these should be on shelves NOW! If you don't find them, you can always grab a bag (or three) from Cracker Barrel's website, and while you're there maybe order the Caramel Apple flavor too! There's also an autumn taffy mix that's available if you didn't get enough saltwater taffy talk last week!

So what's your take? Would you try these pumpkin spice caramels? Have you already tried them? Let everyone else know what you think!

And as always, have a frightfully good Tuesday!

I was at Cracker Barrel this past Friday and they didn't have any Fall items out yet. But I also didn't look at the candy. I'll have to make up an excuse to stop by there this week. I love pumpkin spice.

Good Morning Friends!

Wow that Bers number is standing out at me this morning! I know we've got six days left still before starting "The Final 50" over in The Bers thread, but sometimes it still just seems hard to believe. And we are already mid-way through this week now, with the arrival of Wednesday. And speaking of midways, we will see the mid-point of the month NEXT WEEK. That's incredible. And it feels like July just got here.

I have to speak just a second about the sunset times here, ever since we got past the Summer Solstice. I was working on my Jeep on Sunday evening, and the time got away from me, and as it was getting dark outside, I was kind of surprised to see it wasn't even 8:45PM. So I did a quick check of the time tables, and sure enough, I forgot that we are now in the part of the year where we are basically losing 30 seconds or so a day! And by the time we get to the end of this month, the sun will be setting about 20 minutes sooner than it did in the beginning! Just another reminder every day that the best season is drawing closer and closer!

I haven't made a grocery run since last week, so when I go this weekend I will be sure to keep my eyes peeled for any Fall / Halloween goodness! Have a great day!

I am looking forward to the arrival of Halloween and Fall in the stores, it gives all of my errands a bit of a boost and definitely builds the anticipation, especially for decorating!

We're on the same wavelength, you and I. I was just checking my sunset times last night for comparison against the Solstice. Unfortunately we've only dropped a little over a minute or so here in Texas (barely made it to 8:23 yesterday vs. 8:24 on the Solstice), but progress is progress! I'm thinking that by this time next week we'll be down another two minutes, at least.
