Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Jack O Lantern Day #3 to you all!
The perfect way to close out the month, and keep your eye on that "Days to Halloween" countdown - in just 3 days we will hit the amazing and important 150 DAY milestone.
The calendar says otherwise, but Summer is here now folks. We know what to do. 93 days from now give or take, hopefully less, I can say goodbye to the horrible heat and humidity. Septembers are still very warm but most of the time, it's that wonderful "bers heat" and there's no humidity attached so it's pleasant.
Looking back over the posts, I totally missed including the "Weeks" count on weeks to October, and weeks to Halloween yesterday. Also no Monday morning topic. This short week has gotten me out of whack. Those items will return next week!
Looking farther down the road, I'm focusing on August 1st and the arrival of "Fall Preseason". Just two months from today. I've got this!

JOL Day is here! Finally! Like I said before, I was missing the Halloween vibes since Spooky Spring ended. I have to work today, but I'll be listening to my Halloween playlist and will probably try out some new Silent Hill soundtracks. Tonight, if I can find something to keep the kids occupied, I might watch "Sleepy Hollow." I've always enjoyed the various legends of the Headless Horseman. I have yet to find the definitive version, but at least "Sleepy Hollow" was more campy than scary.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another Jack O Lantern Day is now in the books.
As I put the pumpkins away this morning, the excellent thought went through my head that the next time we celebrate Jack O Lantern Day, it will be on the eve of waking up to "Fall Preseason". The "Days to JOL Day" count has replenished, so essentially it's 61 days to Fall Preseason!
Big things coming at the end of this week, too. Friday will see us reach the all-important 150 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone, as well as reaching 90 DAYS to the Bers. That Bers count is going fast. We'll be at 88 days on Sunday and it seems like it is picking up speed. It honestly feels like we just hit 100 days...

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's almost the weekend and it's almost time for another MILESTONE DAY. That's right, the 150 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone is TOMORROW! What a way to ring in a Friday!
Folks, that count has been the "last" one that has really been holding on. The others felt like they started melting away ever since we started our journey through "Spooky Spring" and when we broke the seal on being half-way to Halloween.
We'll also see the Bers count break into the 80's by this weekend. That one seems like it's going the fastest of all!
Another Hobby Lobby Run is planned for this weekend. Now that Memorial Day is over, will we FINALLY see some Christmas stuff in there?

You know what happens to a count once it gets below 150. Those numbers will melt away faster than a popsicle on the sidewalk.

Today is the all important 150 Days to Halloween marker. Also, while not technically a milestone day, it is also 90 DAYS to The Bers.
It's 57 degrees outside and just the lightest breeze. I smiled when I woke up and thought of how cool it is outside, and how that occurs on a milestone day. It feels like Fall right now. Almost like a gift. And the rest of this weekend is going to be beautiful too. Upper 70's both Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday night getting down into the 40's! How amazing that will feel! I'll try and have a little fire on Sunday night out in the fire pit.

I have never kept a pumpkin indoors much after Thanksgiving, I usually move them outside and put them out in a field. One year I tried to dry Birdhouse Gourds with no success, but I know there are conditions in which those can be preserved.
Dang, 150 days! I get chills just thinking about October already.
Now it's time for Halloween Candy Watch. How early will we spot it this year? Which store will put it out first, and which of us here on MMC will be the first to find it? (Spoiler alert: It'll probably be @Rich.)
Kind of like a game of Clue when you think about it. "It was Rich at CVS on July 13 with the bag of fun-sized Butterfingers."

150 days! I can hardly believe it! But it sure makes me excited!
I'm figuring best case scenario we are roughly a month and a half from seeing some sort of Halloween candy in the store. Mountain Dew should have their seasonal batch of "Voo Doo" hit the stores by mid August, IIRC. That's another thing that I watch for.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is the first day of what will be a beautiful weekend, weather-wise. Still no day higher than 82 over the next 10- day forecast. It actually really cools down next weekend, it gets into the low 70's, so I'm interested to see if that trend hangs on a little while longer. That will put us into mid-June and so far horrible hot temps have been held at bay.
I had strong feelings yesterday evening when I was mowing the front yard. It could have easily been a day in late September. I'm pretty much thinking about Fall and The Bers now 24/7, it seems ramped up as we approach the summer solstice.
Not technically a milestone per say, but today we are a week away from 50 days to our next Jack O Lantern Day. And this next upcoming JOL Day will be on the eve of "Fall Preseason". How amazing.
