Merry Christmas to all! My wish for all of you today is that you have a wonderful Christmas Day and spend it with the ones that you love.

And P.S. - Today marks only 250 Days until "The Bers".

Merry Christmas and have a great day!

Morning Halloween Fans! Know what makes us special? Nobody else in the world outside of this thread is counting/talking Halloween on Christmas Day. Just US. I wish you all the best and hope you get 1 Halloween gift today. Merry Christmas. Have a great day!

Merry Christmas! Hard to believe we are 250 days away from the Bers 2023. Boo and Ho Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas! Today is still all about Christmas and enjoying the season, but come tomorrow I'm turning my attention fully towards Spooky Spring!

I don't want to think about tomorrow right now, though. I want to bask in Christmas for a few more hours...

Merry Christmas! Well, @Edge612, I did get multiple Halloween decorations gifts. My youngest daughter knows of my passion. I got a big lantern decorated with bats and two smaller matching ones decorated with witches and three volitive holders of different sizes that are haunted houses. I told her I was going to put them up. Her reply was that I could but people would think I am weird so right now I am contemplating how much I want to be thought more weird than I already am.

The lanterns and candles both sound great and it would be very tempting to leave them out for just a few (309) more days! As for weird, I vote for wonderful!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! One of my Christmas gifts yesterday was a countdown clock from "Nightmare Before Christmas", which has the ability to countdown an entire year to Halloween, OR, Christmas! I will be setting it up today and I look forward to having it in the house. Quite honestly I think I'm going to leave it set up to count down to Halloween, since I have so much other stuff back here that counts down to Christmas!

Folks, Christmas is "over" now in the mainstream world. But we know better, that here at MMC our beloved Holidays live on through our countdowns, special days, and milestone days. Now that we are in the last week of December, I can finally turn my attention to January. Of course our main Christmas countdown resumes, but January also brings back a lot of things that I have missed. Mainly, Dark Arts Sunday, and Jack O Lantern Day, but those don't feel complete without being able to enjoy Tom Turkey Day and Rudolph Day. All of them work together to help us escape / minimize the PCB's and missing the holidays.

6 days from now, we will only be 30 days, roughly a month out from our 1st Jack O Lantern Day of 2023. In 9 days, we will celebrate the almighty 300 Days to Halloween milestone. That's a huge one. And in 18 days, even though I don't put it on the countdowns, we have our 1st Friday the 13th of 2023. It's like an extra Jack O Lantern Day. Or a Halloween cheat day. Whatever strikes your fancy. Here at this house, we will see Jason again, he has not been here since October. And I'm excited about that.

Have a great day, friends!

Gah! Post Christmas! Hope everyone had a great day yesterday. But now we must live in this 7 day neutral zone where time and space ceases to exist. :) Thankfully the Halloween and Thanksgiving countdowns are here to save me. Last night I asked my 15 year old what movie he wanted to watch. He said, "Nightmare Before Christmas." And inspired choice to be sure. Only nine days to a huge milestone? Yowza! ....now off to pick through the bones of the post Xmas sales.

Someone else's "weird" is just our "normal" here at MMC. I say put them up.

Morning Halloween Fans! The one thing Halloween has over Christmas is when Halloween ends you have Thanksgiving & Christmas ahead of you. When Christmas ends? Not quite the same. Have a great day!
Think of it this way: Someone hit the "reset" button, and now we have The Bers, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all ahead of us! Yeah, they're a ways out there still, but isn't it great that we get to look forward to them again?

I was thinking that no one but me really goes in my bedroom much so I could put them in there, but I ultimately decided putting them with my other Halloween decorations and waiting semi-patiently will increase my anticipation.

I hadn't realized that we have Friday the 13th in January. Good reason to watch Garfield's Halloween! I am getting excited for the Fresh Year with everything to look forward to. Not only an early Friday the 13th, but not that long to Spooky Spring. Life is grand.

Our local Walmart is putting out items for Spooky Spring! Or, maybe there’s just some leftover Halloween ketchup. But I’m going with the first one, lol.

I looked for these all of September and October and didn’t find them! Thank goodness I have finally saw them “in the wild”.

I'd like to start printing "Spooky Spring" stickers and slapping them on merchandise like this. It's a campaign to raise awareness. It would probably get me kicked out of Walmart, but it'd be worth it.

You know, It's kind of silly, and just maybe even useless thinking or speculation on my part, but I really wish I could make Spooky Spring, or even Halfway to Halloween a "Thing".

I remember a couple of years ago when I saw a commercial on Shudder for "Halfway to Halloween". AMC even did a Halfway to Halloween Michael Myers marathon, but I really feel that it was more related to the pandemic and trying to make people happy, than a true attempt at getting something "new" going.

I honestly wonder if it would even be worth reaching out to retailers / advertisers to see if anybody would even remotely be interested in some way. We already do it for Christmas in July, why not Halloween in April?

A quick Google search for "Halloween in April" yields a ton of results. Clearly there are other Halloween fans who want it to become a thing, but for whatever reason it just hasn't caught on the way that "Christmas in July" has, and I have a feeling that reason is because it's currently not "profitable" enough. If any retailer or corporation ever found a way to make it marketable to the point that they'd make a small fortune out of it, you'd see it spread like wildfire.
